The Fab Four definitely deserve to be on there. They need to redo this list.

Hey guys, I heard that the cast of Guiding Light had to pay for submitting themselves and the show didnt submit this year, thats why there's not a lot of GL actors on the list. Is that true?

Hi Guys the GH list is wrong in so many ways :
NP who plays Ethan is a good actor But no way he should be there alongside with DG it should be the kid that plays Morgan he was better than him.
The young actress - I am sorry Julie is amazing actress BUT IN 09 she did not do anything that should put her there that place should have going to the actress that plays Kristina , Julie should not be there...
Having JJ in the supporting roll is stupid JJ did not do anything in the two or so he was , NOTHING!!!
BA deserve it he was amazing all year long , the second place should go to BB maybe DZ but he wasn't that great in 09 , it should maybe go to JT for the Robin's PPD he was really good..
Having RH there is also not good she did not do anything great in 09 that should go to KM for Robin's PPD and maybe also LLC...
the only category that got it right was lead actress ..
Lead actors Common STEVE BURTON SHOULD BE THERE INSTEAD OF TG the people that should be there is Maurice and Steve .. I can't believe no one of you said it , Steve was amazing from the beginning to the end , he was with the Feds when he was shoot and started to dreaming in Mexico ,with Michael smack down with Franco..

Sorry GHLover I will have to disagree with you on a few things
I don't think SBu deserved one this year, nothing from him last year was all that stand out. I mean him telling Michael off was about it.
Kmc & JT - I disagree there are well. I don't want her getting a prenom for a story that ending up with a baby in a tree and JT did nothing but whine to anyone who would listen.
I agree about BB, JJ, TG and NP

If B&B are nomianting Betty White, how funny would it of been for GL to nominate Jeannie Cooper for her walk on role?

Ravennite Steve was amazing this year when Jason was facing the FBI with Spinelli when we saw him lost it , in Mexico when he was dreaming and we see Michael Carly and Kris ,with Michael smack down, with Franco , that is more good scenes than TG..
KM had amazing scenes with her PPD more than RH who we only saw Liz running to Nick ..
Jason tomson had some good scenes there....

It's going to be a drag-out, bloody fight between Crystal and Alison. Crystal Chappell already has her Emmy. It's Alison Sweeney's year. That woman can cry at a grave all damn day but nothing beats the double slap!!!

Crystal has her emmy in supporting, and has been nominated soooo many times but not won, plus this will probably be her last year with a real shot (I love Days, but lets face it there not known for winning emmys) I agree though Allison was awesome during Grace's death.

I agree.......Nathan Parsons is a GOOD actor, and I found him to be pretty good, especially taking on Anthony Geary and Jane Elliott (GH's best actors, in my opinion!!!). If Drew Garrett doesn't win, I would have NO problem seeing him win!!!
My picks for taking home Emmy gold this year are:
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR:
David Canary, get ready to make room for a SIXTH Emmy!!! Despite Chuck Pratt's HORRIBLE writing, he still managed to turn in the best performances of any actor in daytime!!!
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS:
I think this will either go to Sarah Brown or Crystal Chappell. I would love to see Laura Wright win, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Ali Sweeney had some good performances surrounding the "death" of her baby, but I also don't think she will make it up to the podium.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Out of the list of pre-nominees, I am not all that EXCITED about any of them. Billy Miller is good, but I feel that his niche is COMEDY, not drama. I am gonna put my money on Joseph Mascolo. He has never won in the past because I feel that the writers always choose to portray Stefano as a cartoon villain, as opposed to a multi-dimensional one, which is how I feel he is being written now.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
A tie between Julie Pinson and Beth Chamberlain. I would love to see EITHER of these actresses take home the gold, but I think that Chamberlain will take it if she submits the episodes following Coop's death.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR:
DREW GARRETT, DREW GARRETT, DREW GARRETT!! That is all. The rest of the list, for the most part, is kinda weak in comparison.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS:
Julie Berman, get ready to add a SECOND Emmy to your mantle. Christel Khalil gave some pretty good performances after she found out that Cane had lied about who he was, but I don't think she is a match for Berman.

What is up with OLTL? Why such glaring omissions? You'd think being at the bottom of the ratings would give them sometihng to come together on. Is there that much resentment on the cast?

Jamey, you need a time out. ROTFLMAO!!!
The only category I actually care about is Best Actor and Y&R’s Doug Davidson needs to walk on out of there with an Emmy. In my opinion, his work was stellar.

There was so many glaring ommission from this years list, its doesnt make any sense. The Aldersons kids from OLTL is a glaring oversight but you pre-nominate the Bob Woods & Hillary B. Smith which is not 2 say its a bad thing but no love 4 either of them. Jonathan Jackson is nominated too early in this category & I think next year, Killer Miller might be in lead actor category, which he should've been in this year.
Even though Crystal Chappell will get that Emmy this year, she couldn't have did it w/o Jessica Leccia, & I'm sorry if they submit anything from that episode alone, they need 2 hand that Emmy right over 2 Jessica Leccia.
We'll see what the final tally will look like & if they weed out some of these duds, then I may not have a problem.
Stacy Haiduk belongs in lead actress & Florenca needs 2 be in lead actress.

I know it will probably never happen but I think there should be a few new categories added to the Daytime Emmys. Each year a lot of shows seem to omit someone deserving or put someone in a category that just boggles the mind. Although with additional categories some shows still would not pre-nom the right actor/actress.
1-Outstanding Recurring Character I do not know if every show has one. This is where I would place CH(Diane) from GH, she was not supporting last year. OLTL could have both TW(David) and PB(Nigel/Neville) as their male submissions and AS(Kim) as the female submission here.
2-Outstanding Recast Maybe NB(Lily) from ATWT and MM(Adam) from Y&R would both have nominations if this category existed.
3-Outstanding Guest Appearance I LOVE Betty White but she was not supporting in anyway on B&B.
As for the DC Crew--this podcast was great!

Brett Claywell and Scott Evans all the way..... they are the two most talented and deserving actors on OLTL if not all of daytime and their performances are always
truly phenomonal.........those Emmy's definitely belong to them.....

I'm mystified by the small number of nominations for GL, so I do hope we hear some kind of a definitive explanation. I read that Kim Zimmer and Robert Newman were not going to submit their names, and I can imagine a few other actors who might be inclined to take the same route. But it's a shame, in its final year, that the show will ultimately be so poorly represented in the final nominee lists. Despite the talented powerhouse that Kim Zimmer is, I'm actually happy to see her name not listed this year. Her material was weak for 2009 (though of course she never phoned it in). In the lead actress category Crystal Chappell owned Guiding Light in 2009. Love seeing Beth Chamberlin's name: between Coop's death and Phillip's illness, she has some strong material. So sorry not to see Justin Deas, Grant Aleksander, or Gina Tognoni in the mix. Particularly Grant...all those years of playing Phillip so brilliantly and no Emmy!

OMG. My coworkers are going to eventually have me committed. I was falling out of my seat laughing. Jamey, you are too much. LOL!!!
If I'm not mistaken, Bryton James is in the right category. For some reason, I remember during his Family Matter days that he and my younger brother were always the same age. If that's true, Bryton is 23, which means he'll be in the younger actor category for 2 more years.

The pre-noms are always a disappointment, and this year is no different.
Laughable and Obsurd
-Crystal Hunt, Farah Fath, Drew Tyler Bell, and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood
Sorry GUYS, but I don't see all the big distain over the Aldersons NOT being nominated I think they are horrible, well at least Kristen. I'm dying for them to recast that child Starr she sucks beyond belief. Really watch this child try to emote, check out her next 2 or 3 performances, it's pretty painful. I've never been remotely impressed with her or Eddie. He's weak and one-note, it's like watching paint dry, he doesn't make me care. Now that he has Destiny and Daniella to fuss over him his story isn't so bad. Kristen can go NOW!
-Rebecca Herbst aka lil miss monotone why is she on this list?
-Bree Williamson - UGH her cheezy over-the-top ass shouldn't be here either, she had the material, but she's more horrid than good.
-Sharon Case hasn't impressed me at all
-I agree with Jamie....James Scott shouldn't be on the list, he's never been great to me.
-Love Erica S but she hasn't done anything to be nominated, granted she doesn't need to do much.
-Hilary B I said hell no until I remembered her bitching out lump of Coal and his scarf droning mother about her baby boy. She killed that.
-Hate Sonny but Maurice should be a lock
How many people have I ticked off. LOL

Other than that, the Emmy's are a complete joke but I hope Crystal wins.

So glad Crystal Chappell got the pre-nom and fingers crossed for the win. She was awesome in 2009. Maurice Benard will win the Lead Actor if for no other reason than there is no competition from the other actors listed as pre-noms. Then again, they could always just do like they do every year and go "oh what the hell let's give it to Tony Geary."
Sigh!

Just listened to the episode. I liked it but the EB MTS voices got a little much towards the end LOL. As far as the noms go I liked most of them. Not sure why JA is in lead Victor didn't do much last year. FYI the Emmy submisson period is Jan to Dec of the previous year in this case it would be 09. Someone said that ES as Vikki didnt have much to submit I'm gonna guess she submitted when she faked being Jean Randolph in order to get Jessica to come out and face the truth about the babies. Jillian I know you had an issue wIth Scott Evans being in younger instead of supporting. He had no choice. If your 25 or under you are automatically put in the younger catagory. He has the material to merit a nom he just seems out of place. Same thing happened last year or the year before with Melissa Claire Egan.

I believe Robin Strasser DID NOT throw her name in the hat, hence her absence in the prenoms in the OLTL list.
Agree with Jamey on Noelle Beck. She's really done justice to Lily but the Martha Byrne factor - and I adore Martha Byrne - has worked to her detriment despite delivering consistently excellent work as Lily. She is, as Jamey stated, one of the most successful recasts in daytime history.

Kristen and Eddie should be on there. Eddie did great on his scenes when he was in a wheelchair. And Kristen's scenes were so awesome with what her character was going through. They are both really great actors, and hope that they continure to do great work.

I'm going to defend Emily O'Briend being on this list.
She as Jana went after people when Kevin went missing during that chipmunk disaster. I particularly remember her going after Gina at the club after seeing her being interviewed by the media. She also had scenes with Kevin in his padded cell that were pretty heartbreaking, so I think her nomination is justified.
