BREAKING NEWS: Amanda Setton QUITS One Life to Live!

Multiple sources have revealed to Daytime Confidential that breakout star Amanda Setton taped her last episode of One Life to Live on Friday, Feb. 19. Reportedly, the Gossip Girl actress, who had been recurring in the role of Stacy's (Crystal Hunt) best friend/partner-in-crime Kim Andrews, was offered a contract and a pay increase, however she opted to turn both down and in planning to move to California for pilot season. No word yet on whether or not One Life to Live plans to recast what has become quite the pivotal role.

This is really sad news. I loved her as Kim...as long as she was not in scenes with Stacy. She was so good in this role. Good luck to her in Hollywood. I'm sure she has the chops to make it there.

Good luck to her, but this makes me sad. I LOVED Kim and loved Kim&Clint. I'm so going to cry. LOL
How is this going to effect the guppy aka Seirra Mist story? I figured she'd play a big role in a likely custody battle.

Congratulations to Setton! While I'm bummed that we're losing such an incredibly gifted comedic talent on OLTL, I'm happy that she chose to take a risk.
If things don't work out, I hope that she makes the move to Llanview. Maybe she could follow Tuc Watkins' path and make frequent guest stops? Pretty please?? With sugar on top?

Not a smart move on her part....after seeing her very weak scenes by the lake, she should've taken the contract, even if it was just a year contract, to sock away some more money and grow more as an actress before she should tackle pilot season in LA.

Very, very, VERY smart move. The girl is hot, talented, and has a great (and different look).
Why waste your time on daytime's lowest rated(even though it does not deserve to be) soap?
And I am a huge OLTL fan (and its the only soap I still watch)
But in her case, I respect her decision and was expecting this to happen.
HUGE loss for OLTL and it makes me loathe the chick who plays Gigi even more.
OLTL really needs to get some strong actors in the under 30 set. Huge loss. Amanda would have been a huge asset to OLTL.

what a bummer. the unfortunate situation would only be made more tragic if we're left to endure a Kim re-cast. Really sorry to lose both Amanda and Kim but if it has to happen I hope they write out Kim.
Who knows.... maybe she'll come back to NY after pilot season. Hoping they leave it open so that's a possibility.

Aww man...I loved her! I don't blame her though. You have to go out and try while you are young, if you get stuck in a soap past your 30s, you will pretty much stay there.

I always say 'trust your gut instinct', and that sounds as though that's what she's doing. Damn it.
Oh well, I hope they don't recast, because there is little to no chance they can find someone with her instant chemistry with Jerry Ver Dorn and others on the show. They probably will, though, since they have plans for the character. I'll try to like the new Kim, but I don't know...

UGH MY HEART. Losing Stacy this week was one thing, but I cannot handle the impending loss of Kim. And yes I know they may choose to go the route of a recast but I honestly cannot for the life of me picture ANYONE filling Ms. Setton's shoes. This is truly a loss for the show, and I am soo bummed out about it. Just the other day I was telling someone how much I was enjoying her on the show, more than anyone else- yes even Kish- and now she's LEAVING?! Not cool. :'(

She was okay, but I'm not up in arms about this. I'd rather see more Viki, Dorian, Bo, Nora, and Blair than a newbie stripper.
With Stacy gone, Kim's already-weak connection to the cast is further broken down. I can't imagine they'll recast, but if they do, I give her less than four months til she's out too.
Maybe they can use the money they were going to use for Setton and put Addie Cramer on contract.

I tend to agree with this post. I thought AS was the best thing since sliced bread but her dramatic scenes by the lake were awful even for this AS/Kimmie fan. She should've stayed a year, honed her craft, and then gone out to L.A for pilot season.
Anyways, sucks that she is leaving, Kimmie and AS were one of the few things I enjoyed about OLTL.

Clint and Kim are just amazing.

Well, we don't know all the facts yet. Considering that it's already February, it seems like it is already late for getting cast in next year's pilots. My guess is that someone -- a casting director or a producer -- saw her on OLTL and cast her in something based on that. Maybe she just ain't tellin' all her bizness at the moment...but who really knows? It just all seems so sudden...

well hopefully this means OLTL will not need that other stripper character anymore. hopefully plans for that story are in the trash now.
but DAMN i am going to miss amanda! we were supposed to hate kim but thanks to miss setton, she became one of my favorite love to hate characters on daytime.

I have not really been watching much of OLTL, and I didn't catch much of her performances, but come on people....it's not like we are losing Robin Strasser or Erika Slezak!! I heard the girl is goo, but "Life" will go on!! Gina Tognoni is back, so all is well in Llanview for me!!!
With Stacy gone, I am still rejoicing!!!!!(DANCES OF GLEE!!! DANCES OF GLEE!!!!)
Note to producers and Ron: Don't hire any more annoying twenty-somethings any time soon!!! We already have enough of them, and with Gigi and Rex onscreen practically everyday, it's time to give us more seasoned characters and actors!!!!

I love her as Kim, so I am sad. However, I have not had the time to become attached to her so maybe it is better she is going now. I wish her luck in her career and if she gets a show I am interested in watching that would be great.
I just hope Kim doesn't snap and steal the baby, because damn if I am over baby kidnapping story lines for a while.

I am going to have to agree with the other posters who said her scenes by the lake were lackluster. She was awful in them. I think she's a fine actress but certainly not the second coming of Sandra Bullock like DC would have us believe. Good for her for spreading her wings and making a go of it. I wish her all the best.
