German Soap Verbotene Liebe's Christian and Olli Set for U.S. Adaptation

The forbidden love of Christian and Olli, from German sudser Verbotene Liebe is coming to America. According to The Hollywood Reporter, former HBO vice-president Sam Martin has secured the rights to the storyline revolving around a gay couple in Dusseldorf. Martin plans to Americanize Christian and Olli with a setting in Portland, Oregon.

HBO Films and HBO Entertainment have first look options on the project, according to the article, which also states the characters gained cult popularity thanks to clips of their storyline being uploaded to You Tube and watched worldwide. Somewhere Eden Riegel, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Van Hansis, Jake Silbermann, Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia just bit the heads off of a litter of puppies.

Didn't Verbotene Liebe also have a popular lesbian couple? If I remember correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong) but didnt they leave the show this year? I think it was Carla and Stella?
