If she is leaving, it's more than likely her own choice. She has gotten rave reviews for the role, and I doubt that Valentini and Carlivati would get rid of the character----considering that it's Nora's daughter. GASP: I hope they don't kill her off!!!!

Yeah, that chicken nuggets commercial was pretty lame, but she used to be on "Passions," so she is used to foolishness!!!

I love the actress but haven't been interested in any of her storyline. I wish they would have done something better than just that tired old "Which brother should I pick?" story.

I always try to trust Jamey when it comes to soap scoops but I really hope this isn't true. I could care less about Rachel's relationship with Greg but the rapport the character has with Schuyler and Tea has been enjoyable.

If she was let go, I am sure it was a budget decision and had nothing to do with her performance.  She has been doing great work as Rachel, but the cast is so large these days.  

There are more than a few other people they could cut for budget, including Greg.

If they get rid of anyone, they better get rid of that Greg. I was watching when they bought Jessica in, that man couldn't even act when he was giving out orders doctor orders.  When he tried to get "tough" with Brody, he looked like a fool.

She was one of the reason I started back watching this show after Evangeline left.  She can't leave and they keep on that freakin Greg.

 I actually like her character.  Sigh...I guess OLTL is trimming the fat from the cast, but I so wouldn't have went in this direction...Rex..Gigi...they can go!

I would hope if she goes, Greg would also exit the canvas.  Some other "fat" that could be trimmed..Markko, Langston, Ford, either Schuyler/Kim or Cristian/Layla and if they really are wanting to tighten the belt, I could see Clint and Natalie leave the show. 

I agree, if this is true it's a cost-cutting move than anything else. And if that's the case, she will be the first of many.

 To trim down the cast playing executive producer. I would have Ford leave the canvas he is useless to the show right now. Also I would put Jason Tam on recurring because they don't write for Markko good. We can say goodbye to Greg as well. Although they can recast him with Rhashawn Orange from days or the guy who played Ben from ATWT. Get rid of Saundra Santiago because they don't even show Carlotta. Get rid of Moe and Noelle they can move back to Texas.

This has got to be one of the stupidest moves on OLTL in a while. Why get rid of a great actor(Duplaix) and keep that awful Terrell Tilford? Just doesn't make a lick of sense!

I know Gina Tognoni is not cheap though. I guess they had to trim some of the budget. But why not get rid of Farah Fath/Gigi? Do they think that with Crystal Hunt gone, FF will somehow start giving a crap about the role?

OLTL is starting to get crappy now. They had great stuff for almost a year, and now everything is starting to crumble. All the momentum they built up is being undone. I can think of a few people we could switch out.

Rex - He is not necessary. His spot could be Kevin or JOEY.

Gigi - She is so not needed anymore. If they kept her in VICKY's orbit instead of saddling her with Rex, she would have been interesting.

Marty Saybrook - Susan Haskell is amazing, but with John being thrown back at Natalie, she is no longer useful on the show. Either bring back Patrick (Thorsten Kaye), or just chuck the character.

Greg Evans - Terrell Tilford...nuff said

Brody - He is sooooo GENERIC. There is nothing really special about him. Mark Lawson can deliver a line, but it's mostly about how good he looks in a towel.

Ford - Another generic meatstick and AGES OLD plot device used to break up a couple just to have them get back together...YAWN!

OLTL is on it's way down...this is the beginning of the end. Once they get rid of Brian Kerwin(it will happen), it will become the new All My Children...which is what Frons wants, so he can cancel the show.

Dang! I guess they got the memo to trim the cast, but they are starting off in a bad way w/getting rid of Daphne. I guess there's hope for some of my fanfic to come true. I always thought a Rachel/Layla/Greg tri would be hot. They can still have Greg/Layla together.

Hopefully Daphne will find work.

Not shocked given how little they wrote for her. I'm sad that she's leaving. There are others I would have let go first, Greg being one of them.

I agree there are several other actors/characters who deserve the boot over Duplaix, who I think is fantastic as Rachel; she has great chemistry not only with HBS and Eddie Alderson, but I love her scenes with Florencia Lozano and Scott Clifton.  Langston, Markko, Gigi, Rex, Stacy, and last but not least GREG are a few I could live without.  Alas,
not every decision is a wise decision; after all, Stacy Fiasco has lasted almost a year and that's 364 days too many for my blood.

Arggghhh! Greg should leave, and Rachel should be with Skyler. They have great chemistry. Nothing against Mr. Tilford, but the character of Greg did nothing except make me realize how much better I liked his sibs Destiny and Shawn. And Rachel is important to Tea, Matthew, & Nora.

OLTL just doesn't have much luck with Rachel. She doesn't seem to stick around longer than two years maximum.

Le sigh. I loved Daphnee as Valerie/Vincent on Passions, and I liked her as Rachel. If they ever revisit the character, they should just bring back Ellen Bethea and let it be.

I really hope you're wrong for once, Jamey.  Maybe she's been bumped down to recurring and your source misunderstood?  That's the thin thread of hope I'm holding on to.

That sucks, I liked her and thought she just needed a better storyline. I'd like it if she would come to AMC and replace DV as Randi. Please.

I'm in the minority here, but I haven't been exactly blown away by her performance, and I hope this turns out to be a recast.  I think they've positioned the character of Rachel nicely on the show.  She's connected to Nora, Schuyler, Téa, Greg.  The story says Duplaix is out, but it doesn't say Rachel is going anywhere.  I wish her well, but I thought she was too understated for a dynamic character like Rachel, whom I remember as being occasionally as explosive as her mother. 

First bad storyline choices... now bad casting choices.. I have to wonder if this is network interference.

I know all soaps (but especially ones in danger) need to cut costs but there are so many people they could have cut first. GREG, Ford, Markko, Langston, Rex, Gigi.. even Jessica and Brody because as much as I love that couple, I am sick of seeing her acting  a fool. I am even going to throw Marty and John in there because he is boring and she isn't being used.

She is a talented actress and woman of color, something OLTL needs. I am tired of having my diverse storylines taken away on abc daytime.

Get rid of: Destiny, Shawn, the Evans parents, Marrko, Langston, Ford, Cole, Rex, GiGi, Charlie, Moe, Noelle, Carlotta, Commisioner Lowell, Stacy

Bring back: Kevin, Joey, Cassie, Andrew, Tina, Max, Gabrielle, Alison Perkins, Patrick, Adrianna, David

Stories that need improvement /resolution/new direction so we can move forward: Todd and Tea, Blair and Eli, Alison Perkin's secret, Christian and Layla, Kim and Clint

If they keep Rex and Gigi, have Schuyler turn out to be Rex's brother

Aww, well if she is leaving' it's nobody's fault but the show's. They haven't been writing for her well since she got together with Greg and the fact that I perfer her with Shawn aside, there are so many interesting storylines thy do with her.
For example, why not get her involved with Schuylar and get him out of Gigi's orbit? Or maybe bring something from her past back to haunt her? 
In fact, why even keep Greg on if all we're going to see him do is be a doctor? He's not necessary and Rachael is releated to a core family.  I just don't understnad!

Maybe Ellen Bethea is returning after all. There is no need to bring on yet another new actress for this role.
