James Franco recently spoke with New York Magazine where he revealed he will reprise the role of Franco on General Hospital in the spring. Franco alluded to this addendum to his GH guest stint in a Wall Street Journal editorial published in early December. "After all of the Franco episodes are aired, my character's storyline will be advanced in a special episode filmed in a 'legitimate' New York gallery," Franco wrote. "One more layer will be added to this already layer-heavy experiment. If all goes according to plan, it will definitely be weird. But is it art?"

I can't help but think that this info at least has some of the cast seething about this. I mean who gives this guy who is only doing a guest stint the right to be able to co-direct an episode and have almost fulll creative input on a storyline? Oh well its James Franco who is a big star so will dismiss it. Don't get me wrong I love James and his work, but if I were a GH cast member I would be livid about the creative input he has been given.

What a joke! Why does ABC want him back? He has done NOTHING for GH...the show has lost a lot of viewers since his stint started >.< I was hoping this Franco travesty would be over and done with when the Psycho Art Guy finally left next week! I love that he's coming back. He's getting GH talked about. There's an old show biz saying something along the lines of 'You can say anything about me as long as you spell my name right.' (Not the exact quote, but you get the idea.) It's not Franco's fault that TPTB decided to drag out the story arc as long as they have. Some folks have lost patience with the show because of that. As for co-directing one show, I don't see the harm - it certainly won't impact the rating.

It isn't that i don't like S.B as a person because he is probably a nice guy in real life.
I just don't think he is that good of a actor and should not be the star of the show when there are ALOT of actors on the show who are better then he is.

Steve Burton is amazing actor , he is one of the best on GH .......
he is doing amazing amazing job with this Storyline a job that should get him EMMY nom if the people at GH will not give Tony Geary NOM ...
This last year Steve did fantastic job that got him so much praise not just Jason/Steve Fans THAT THEFE ARE MANY but people that outside of his fan base!!

Well, the ratings seem to indicate people are NOT talking about GH. It has finished behind ATWT in the past few weeks. In fact, the Spinelli/Maxie non-wedding got better ratings? Why? Because for just a brief moment, there was some fun and frivolity on the show and people jumped at it.

Calling James Franco a movie star is a misnomer, his success in movies has come from supporting roles and other than Spiderman , it has come from independent or mid-budget movies, I don't think blame for this failed experience belongs on his shoulders, if Guza had restricted Jason to 3 days a week, we could have had more Franco, or if it was going to be a 5 day a week story, then it should have ended in a month it would have been fine, obviously he learned nothing from the Martha Byrne fiasco. Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis could join GH and Guza would find a way to make them look bad.
