Why is it that everytime I read any article regarding Frons the old adage comes to mind

Except one thing. sitcoms  and long-running drama's aren't almost extinct. Soaps are in the endangered category.

Nothing this man says anymore surprises me. But he fails to forget that when my beloved ATWT leaves the airwaves this fall, it will be the ABC soaps at the bottom of the pack. Hopefully by then he'll be unemployed and someone with a love for daytime will come in takeover (and that goes for fellow dumb a** Barbara Bloom as well).

I have to admit this man is my hero. If only I got paid that much for mediocrity.

Well I guess i better start saying my goodbyes to OLTL right now so I can get through the mourning period early.

Sure are a lot of BULLSHITERS out their, way to kick a soap when it down, I was going to start watching ABC, but that took care of that. He is the first pinhead of the year. He looks like Mr. Burns from the Simpson likes to watch people suffer. EXCEL…LANT!!!

he does realize that his "strong soap" is being beaten in the ratings by the cancelled ATWT right? (referring to GH) I still wonder why this man has a job unless its because TPTB just dont care much about there daytime block. But its truly sad to see Soaps become extinct because of execs like Frons, Bloom and such they are the ones in charge and yet they are the ones looking for reasons to cancel shows that have lasted so many years say what you want but when soaps some that had been on for 72 years are cancelled because of lack of viewership the blame needs to be put straight on the heads of the people in charge and yet they still have jobs its mind boggling!

The only reason this hack still has a job is because ABC wants to kill their daytime line up. Nothing, not even ABC moving AMC to LA can convince me otherwise.

The powers that be don't care about their soaps, or they wouldn't be cancelling them left and right.  I'm surprised, to be honest, that some of these soaps weren't canceled sooner.  They held out as long as they could.  By trying to save them, they screwed up royally.  All the meddling was for nothing, because frankly Bloom and Frons have run their soaps into the ground just about.  Maybe Days has improved because there is no president of NBC Daytime.

It's funny, I am a sports fan and this week a half dozen football coaches will llose their jobs because they counldn't motivate millionaires to do their jobs but Frons can rest easy while viewers continue to turn away

Our soaps have been around for DECADES. There are no re-runs.  There are no season finales, with a two to three month break with nothing but re-runs.  These writers and actors have devoted their entire lives to these shows. They sometimes shoot weeks worth of scenes in just a few days.   These people have been busting their asses since most of us were children. And you have the nerve to shrug your shoulders, and act like we should all just get over it,  while you flush generations of hard work down the drain?!

He is a demon from hell smug arrogant and full of himself he loathes soaps he has systematically destroyed with careful turned careless manpulations and orchestrations.

he hasn't a clue about soap operas.and lost the pulse of this audience because if he did he would have fired hack Guza years ago but he continues to let his bud (with his wife) write GH in the ground.

I  am not convinced that he wants this genre to survive some of the things he's said about soaps and their audience belies comprehension.

He is single handedly the absolute worst thing to happen to this American tradition of storytelling with his Darwinist philosophy of only the strong survive and the weak perish by the wayside. Then had the audacity to sit and say he wish he could have gotten credit for the creation of Luke and Laura.

Yeah right he never would have allowed them to play because they are a "grassroots' couple.  I'd bet the farm he'd have been behind Scotty and Laura.  I cringe when I see his picture.

I just love how he said that now that GH is going HD we can have more CGI stunts! Yea because thats what we want to see ugh.

Frons is the king of the assholes. Remember how it was with Port Charles, "Nah, you're just being silly, we won't cancel it..." until they did.

Basically, I'd say OLTL has either until September of this year or September of 2011. GH is still the favorite despite crappy performance and Jill's hackery. They would look like idiots cancelling AMC immediately after spending millions for the move.
So that leaves OLTL. They have to find new programming to replace OLTL, i.e. game show, reality show, court show, talk show. New programming almost always starts in the fall. So the ax will likely fall in around March. The show may be safe for the moment in that they share the facility there with The View anyway. I predict the hammer to come down on OLTL in March 2011.

But JFP had better watch it at GH. Franco did nothing for ratings. They already have all of the other benefits which AMC is supposedly getting (bigger set, lower production costs). A few more months of following ATWT in the ratings and heads will roll.

As regards AMC, I don't see anything happening. Thank God Lorraine Broderick is back. But at this point, the audience may be lost for good.
 

Brian "Fraud" Frons is a jerk and needs to lose his job.  OLTL is the best soap and goes underbudget and is on time, AMC is way overbudget and too expensive to make.  But he wants to get rid of the best soap on air right now for his babies.  Thanks a lot, Fraud.

So many great points made above.  I remember when everyone was claiming that the sitcom was dead (then Roseanne and Billy Cosby 'saved' the genre) but, like others have said, none of the shows have been around for decades (even with reruns and summers off, etc.)

Yea, Frons is an idiot. I find it HILARIOUS that 2 out of his 3 soaps are BELOW the just canceled ATWT. Does he actually think OLTL and GH are "strong"? LOL.

But nothing compares to his "training" the audience comment. It doesn't seem to be working, Mr. Frons. Maybe you need to be GONE!
