Welcome to the 2nd Annual Daytime Confidential Hot 100. Over the past year Daytime Confidential has been tracking who you, the readers, are most interested in through your clicks on the website. Throughout the year, we have published the names of the Top 20 current and former daytime stars and celebrities in our monthly Daytime Confidential Top 20 ranking. With 2010 almost upon us, it is time to reveal who the Hot 100 stars are, and where they ranked.
Thirty-six stars who earned a spot in the 2008 Daytime Confidential Hot 100 fell off the list in 2009 making room for newcomers to the list. Of the stars who have earned a Daytime Confidential Hot 100 ranking two years in a row, the actors with the highest jump in ranking rose 94 spots while the actor or actress with the biggest drop in ranking fell 77.
The names of each current and former soap star that appears on the list are credited to the soap on which the most recently appeared. The Young and the Restless and General Hospital tied with the most number of stars on the list with 18 stars a piece.

I love that Melody T Scott was number 2!
Crystal Chappell as number 1 should surprise no one, congrats to her.
While I would have loved if Brett and Scott debuted a bit higher, 39 and 38 is still a pretty respectable debut considering they were probably on almost nobody's radar the first half of the year (before the Kish story was announced).

I am so thrilled to see that Crystal Chappell earned the number one spot in the HOT 100 because she has been on fire this year. I have never seen anything like in my 28 years of watching soaps. Dinah I disagree. I think NP has grown quite a bit since he first came on the show and I am really looking forward to this upcoming Kiefer/Kristina/Ethan storyline esp. since its going to pit the Spencer/Quartermaine clan against the Corinthos/Davis clan.
The problem with GH isnt NP but the way the writers introduced the character and their refusal to deal aggressively with TG's demands that Ethan turn out to be a Spencer and not a Scorpio. Ethan gets bashed because he is the symbol of luke cheating on Laura and to me if any character should be bashed for that one its Luke.
