Brian Frons: ABC "Has Big Plans" For Soaps

CHEERS to Brian Fons optimism..I hope he's not living in an IVORY tower...  Glad he has a BOUNTY of good will toward his soaps, unlike the DOWNY messages coming from other execs.  I hope his ABC soaps GAIN in viewers, not just this week but ALWAYS.  Lets hope the TIDE has turned....  The DAWN of a new ABC day is coming our way !!  Woo hoo.  His message is quite surprising , almost CHARMINg.

As long as those "big plans" don't include canceling my OLTL. I hope that's more than just lipservice and ABC is committed to all three of it's soaps. Not going to hold my breath though.

 He's the dehhhh-vil.  Don't look directly into his eyes in that picture up there.  He's not fooling anyone.  We need to hear the words, "We will not cancel One Life To Live.  THAT'S how committed we are to our three soaps".  Until he says that, I will be verrrry suspicious!

If Frons is serious about saving the ABC soaps, why doesn't he fire Phelps and Guza?

Guys, I think we should take what he said with a grain of salt. If those "big plans" mean that he is quitting then I am all for it.

Yes, Brian Frons has big plans for ABC's soaps, all TWO of them.  It is obvious he has no love for OLTL and I think it will be cancelled next year.  I think the decision has probably already been made.  This is so sad since I think OLTL is the best soap on the air and it's the only one I watch.  I truly hope I am wrong but I don't trust this guy and I think if he were truly committed to all THREE soaps, OLTL would have moved to Los Angeles along with AMC.  Let's all do what we can to spread the word about what a great show OLTL is and pray for a miracle.

I still watch Y&R, and occasionally catch B&B or ATWT, but OLTL is the only show I actually look forward to watching. Y&R is becoming difficult to sit through and B&B is always something tobruise my face from all the eyerolls, but OLTL is keeping my interest these days. I'll be sad if the rumors indeed become true and it leaves the airwaves next year.

Ah yes, Brian while you and your friend Bob Guza are sitting alone watching your favorite General Hospital the rest of us will be watching CBS.  Enjoy yourself.  Could get dark in that room after awhile when they turn the lights out on you and lock the joint up. You may also want take special care of your arm while your patting yourself on the back for a job well done; you'll need it when your standing out in front of Sleep Country holding signs for their next big sale. 

I take him seriously. If a show that has been so good, and on the air so long, dies on his watch he will look as incompetent as Barbara Bloom. He wants all three to survive, and I think this is his way of trying to put out blogger fires about OLTL. I do believe that OLTL will be his target if he is forced to cancel a show, but I do believe he doesn't WANT to cancel any.

If Frons is serious about the survival of ABC soaps the best thing he can do is STEP DOWN and give his job to a competent human being who won't meddle and play favorites (Scumbag Ryan Lavery, who hasn't had an even mediocre couple in almost a decade) immediately comes to mind.

I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry at this statement.

Okay so I have read the posts and can we say we get some of your points the first time you do not need to post the same message a hundred times!

On to the matter at hand.  I love tha ABC knows where it is and are keeping the 3 Soaps!  Yes I said 3 Soaps cause I agree with others that Frons doesn't want to be like CBS and NBC and let a Soap die on his watch.

The big changes ahead well where to begin on that one?  I could begin with a new opening sequence for all three soaps.  The openings are so dated and GH has never updated theirs to refelect current contract players.  For Pete's sake Alan is still in there and he has been on another Soap!

One can hope and pray tha Guza and Phelps will be out at GH but I highly doubt it.  The Franco storyline has been read hot and I believe he will believe it is all because of them.

On that note Franco needs to say!  Genie Francis needs to come home!  Brenda needs to reclaim her place as GH's Face of Deception and Lynn Herring needs to be back with an aged Serena so Michael has a love interest!

OLTL needs to reunite Clint and VIcki!  Get rid of Stacey!  Find a Joey! Bring Evangaline back but only in the form of Renee Goldsberg!  Let Michael and Marcie stay on screen!  Give Nat and John another shot by reuniiting Marty with a much alive Patrick.  What a twist would it be if Patrick was the one who helped Mitch Lawerence.  That would be an interesting twist. 

AMC needs to get an identity!  They need to get Leo back and bring back Binks!  Other than that just rewrite the wrong and say Dixie never died!
