YES! That's GREAT news!  This is going to be a wonderful and fond farewell to one crappy show!  I'll love returning for those two days!  Hopefully Pratt won't screw it up too badly.

Good news!  I'm so happy to hear that JM is healthy enough to make a visit.  The Palmer/Nina/Cliff days bring back so many memories.

Hell yeah!
After hearing the sad news about ATWT, this was a real burst of joy.

Palmer has long been missed from The Valley.
How lucky we are that he has agreed to join this celebration.
Love you James!

Man I'm glad to know that James Mitchell is well enough to take part in the anniversary.
If not for him AMC would have remained just the soap my mother watched. I was maybe 10yrs old when he chased Daisy around Courtlandt Manor with those snarling dogs in tuxedo with tails.......I was sold !!!

It's wonderful that so many vets are showing up despite the shows very poor direction and writing under Pratt.Hope he doesn't screw up the anniversary to horribly.

This is good news, can't wait Laughing out loud.

ABC Soaps In Depth's website is saying that they hear that James Mitchell shot his scenes on location at his home because of health issues.

Either way, it's going to be so great seeing Palmer!

That is such awesome news......  now if we could just have Daisy back too.
And with Greg Nelson returning, it would have been fun for his mom, Enid Nelson to make a guest appearance!  My other wish was that Dick Shoberg (Tom Cudahy) would return for the 40th to share scenes with Julia Barr.

I grew up on CBS shows. When I went off to college in 1979--ABC was becoming very popular (at least where I went to school). Since there was only one tv in the dorm in the main social area--I begrudingly started to watch the ABC soaps. I had no choice--out voted. Everyone scheduled their classes in the a.m. if possible, so they could catch their shows in the afternoon.

Palmer C and that s/l with Myrna, Nina, Cliff and then Daisy--is the story that hooked me in big time. I loved Palmer. He is my favorite character from that show. And what a great story that was--so gothic with the dobermans and and Courtland manner and just the whole damn thing. I loved it--and it is still my choice for fave s/l in the last 30 years. (I was young--but it really was the older characters like Palmer, Myrna, Phoebe that hooked me--they were so much fun to watch)

So happy that the great James Mitchell will be around for the anniversary. He is a class act
