Hmm...I was hoping they would not do a secret child storyline here but I guess Carly will need some sort of family connection in Salem. I rather her daughter be Mia. Crystal can probably make both of those youth actesses better.

It better be Melanie!!! Not because I think Mel needs it, but rather I don't want it to be Mia.  Giving her Carly as a mother will only make her stick around longer.  (Maybe if they changes actresses it wouldn't be so bad)  But of course, the writers have already told us it's Mia because she is the first stranger that Carly talked to, and they had that oh-so-special conversation on the docks. Bleck!!  The same thing happened when Billie came back to town and starting talking to Chelsea for no good reason.  The writings on the wall, folks!

Is it just me or is Mia one of the most annoying characters on the show?  She never has any facial expressions and there is never any tonal change in her voice.....she always sounds the same....kind of a whiny, pathetic, woah-is-me quality.  Everything the guys on the podcasts talk about YR's Victoria and her "noooooo", it makes me think of Mia.  The only thing that girl can do well is make tears fall from her eyes.  Not cry, mind you, since she tries too hard to still look pretty while she is sad.  Also, why does she always say her lines like she's scared to take a breath....it sounds like she's forcing more words to come out than should be comfortable.

Could someone help me out with one thing: why are we supposed to feel sorry for Mia in her struggles with Chad over custody?  His rights as a father were taken from him (for no good reason) and yet she still acts like the victim when he calls her on it (of which he has every right).  I don't get it!!!

Well, I guess Mia. Melanie is a bit older and that would not fit when Carly left Salem. Besides, isn't Melanie's dad that awful Trent? (Rosco Born) Can't see Carly with Trent. Mia's dad is not known.

Not thrilled with this, but if they are going to keep the teen stuff, it is a way to tie Carly to Salem.

 Mia is too obvious.  I'm going with Melanie.  Molly also said she's been working quite a bit with CC and LS.

 I would go with Melanie because she is the the less obvious choice but knowing Days its probably Mia, I just don't think the writers are smart enough to pull a switcheroo on us, and they've already had that conversation at the pier. I'm betting she had an affair with Daniel and he's the father. I think the writers are to afraid to give Bo another child with someone other than Hope.

I'll take a shot. Early in the story, Mia said Chad 'didn't take no for an answer' that's how she wound up pregnant. Supposedly Chad got kicked out of military school for drugs, or sent to it because of drugs. I think they were trying to make Chad a 'bad' guy, which would make Will and Mia the routable couple, but maybe the writers changed their minds after they saw how Casey was performing the role. They seemed to have backed off of Chad forcing Mia and just made him an obnoxious teen. Which does not justify keeping a baby from him.

I hope it's Melanie. The thought of Carly being permanently connected to Mia (not to mention Dr. Dan) makes my blood run cold.

I am hoping that it is Melanie (she looks more the part), but I fear that the writers are dropping anvils here that it is Mia.  Personally, I think that Melanie looks more like Carly, and if Dr. Dan does, indeed, turn out to be the father - then how in Hell did those two produce a daughter with platinum blond hair?!?

I also agree with the above poster who stated that the actress who plays Mia is monotone and expressionless; her acting style reminds me of Mac (Clemintine Ford) on Y&R.  If they are going to be keeping this character on canvas, then TPTB need to either get an acting coach for this young lady, or just bite the bullet and recast the part!

Wow, when I found out Carly was coming back to town I joked on here that they would probably end up making her Melanie's mother. YIKES!

CC really needs an actress who can hold her own so we really need a new actress on the scence.

I don't think whoever is writing DAYS could use history well enough to make it Melanie. Carly/Katarina is the real sister of Frankie/Francois.  Frankie took in Max as a brother when they were young.  Max is Melanie's brother so theoretically Carly could have known Max's father, but hopefully NOT in the biblical sense!

No really, that could actually work, though.  And as implausible as it may seem on the surface, it COULD happen....but only in Salem.

I just hope that when the writers filmed these scenes that they already knew what "the secret" was going to be.  Soaps do that too often and it always ruins the reveal in the end (see: Who shot Stuart on AMC?).  Though, are we to believe that Carly had another child and gave it up?  After everything she went through with Nicky?  That doesn't sound like it would be in character for her.  Also, to blatanly rip off the same crappo storyline that's currently going on on OLTL, would be pretty lame.  As superior as OLTL is to most other soaps, that particular storyline is pretty crap-ass!!!

Did I miss something?  Has the anyone stated on the show that Carly and Dr. Dan know each other?  I don't remember that.  If not, why is everyone saying that he would be the father?

 If I had to choose the lesser of two evils here I'd choose Melanie for Carly's kid. Mia can leave Salem now.

Welllll, since Carly and Vivian have both had scenes with Mia, I am assuming that Mia is Carly's long lost daughter.  This is just a bad idea, unless they come up with a new actress for the part that can act.  I've been inpatiently waiting for the baby switch story to end so that Mia could wander away into Not for TV Land.  She is a horrid little actress.  If it must be a secret daughter for Carly, please God let it be Melanie.  At least CC would have someone to act with and CC could really help with Melanie's acting.  There's a whole lot of potential with that girl!

I like Mia too. I dont think shes all that bad of an actress. She's fantastic at crying on cue. I think she just needs a broader range of storylines. She's had nothing but a sad depessing storyline since she joined Days. And I also think that it's too obvious for her to be Carly's daughter. I would love for it to be Mel...who I also like alot.

Oh and what is this about Carly and Daniel? Do they know eachother? How about Justin being Carly's baby daddy? Don't know much about there relationship, but hey, just throwing it out there;-)

Now that the baby switch is out in the open, Mia no longer serves a purpose on the show. She and Chad should be written out. Will can hook up with Gabby since they're establishing the Hernandez family in Salem.

i think its gonna be melanie but i wouldn't mind if it was mia. i like both of them & taylor spreitler (Mia) acts better opposite Crystal Chappell so i wouldn't mind it being her. i think its gonna be melanie based on what happened today & what carly told bo on some episode.
