He is incredibly humble and it's one of the many things I find endearing about him. It's great to hear him talking about GH again and I can't wait for his storyline to start heating up.

I hated Lucky since his death, so much that I literally wanted Liz to set him on FIRE. There was no way that I would root for LL2, NO WAY. Then JJ said 'remember me', and 2 seconds later I was in tears. THIS IS LUCKY. This beautiful, soulful, loving, SEXY man is Lucky. GV was great, but he just was NOT Lucky. The writing for him didn't help either, nor JY. GH finally has a real super couple. I hope that they stop this Lik nonsense FAST, and show what a couple with this much history can do for a dying show. GH is bleeding viewers weekly, I SO hope they put LL2 up front, and remind those viewers that have left, what GH is really all about. Time for the mob to take a back seat, and for GH to become General Hospital again. This is a GREAT thing.

Honestly I didnt think GV was a great actor but I believe his looks are better for the role of Lucky NOW. JJ looks like he could be the same age as Morgan, he is scrawny snd he is supposed to be PCPD nevermind he sounds like he jumped on the bandwagon of Sam with all the 'whisper' talk.. I just dont think JJ conveys STRONG, CONFIDENT, POLICE OFFICER Lucky.. He was great when it was a teenager role I just dont like him as an adult....

I have to say I don't think GV looked better in the role of Lucky. I always felt he was miscast in the role. Greg looks like a prom king. Lucky isn't a prom king. Lucky makes fun of the prom king. Also, Lucky would have never been with Sam. Lucky would never date a woman who owned a hot tub let alone actually get in one. And Jonathan played a resistance fighter against the machines. I think he can play a cop. Yes, he looks young but JJ conveyed more of a strong, confident Lucky when he was 17 than Jacob or Greg ever did with the "adult" Lucky.

Jonathon Jackson is a great actor. He is a multiple Emmy winner. Actors act. He can act any age. I am sorry that Greg Vaughn was treated poorly. But, folks keep bringing up Greg Vaughn's appearance as if that should matter. Lucky isn't an underwear model. He is a cop and a father. JJ can handle that. That isn't to say he couldn't handle playing a model if he needed to. Jonathon Jackson's Lucky as a teenager played far more mature that his age. He was the adult in his relationship with Luke. He was certainly more mature than Sonny. I can't wait to see where the character is headed next.

Also, Luckys charm had more to do with his intelligence and confidence than "prom king" looks. He lived his life as an outsider, different from the crowd and other boys his age. GV's Lucky always seemed slow and very ordinary, I rooted for him out of nostalgia for LUCKY, and he was all we had. Remember the scene with GV Lucky being coached on how to use a computer program, By LIZ! Lucky 1 was a computer genius and a Math and Physics whiz, he tutored Liz and Emily when they were struggling with their math and science and yet, they both go into medicine and Lucky becomes a cop! Not that I have a problem with law enforcement, but, if a brilliant young man like Lucky WERE to become a cop, he would certanly be higher ranking by now than beat cop (especially an inept one). I think the young looks comments are irrelevent, in that I always thought GV looked too old to play Lucky and be alongside of Emily and LIz, hell, he even looked older than nik!

I was just about to say that Lucky has NEVER been a "STRONG, CONFIDENT, POLICE OFFICER"... where was I when he was all of that, heh? And I agree that though GV was nice to look at, I thought he was too old to play the part (Lucky is supposed to be like 5-6 yrs YOUNGER than Nik, not the same age... or sometimes looking older). And the O.G. Lucky definitely had the know-how & skills to be an amazing cop that would probably sometimes walk over/blur the line (he IS Luke's son after all), & for sure he wouldn't get with Sam... even for revenge. Maybe Sarah Webber, but definitely not Sam.
(The only time we would ever find O.G. Lucky in a hot tub is if he had to hide in there from the Frank Smith-mob).
Some people thought Zack Morris couldn't play cop either, but he did a damn good job proving them wrong.

I understand that people are bitter about GV (he WAS treated poorly)... & that these ARE still the SAME writers (& PTB) that wrote for GV's Lucky... BUT these PTB also really seem to like JJ better or at the very least want him more (they wouldn't have fired one for the other if that wasn't the case), so I am keeping that in mind & having hope that we will get the original Lucky again now that we have the original Lucky again.
But above all else, we should just wait & see... let the story play out before we make judgments on what can & can't be done b/c really, only time will tell.

The hot tub wasnt in her living room, it was on her deck...or at least I thought it was. I am pretty sure they were outside. Personally I would love to have a big deck with a hot tub....and Kelly's bikini figure....and a guy as hot as GV.....of course if wishes were horses, beggers would ride.

Ok so I don't know if ppl didn't get the jist of what my point was but I never near stated that I liked GV or that I'm sad he left in fact I thought he sucked as an actor and I WILL agree he did look a Lil too old to be Lucky but he DID look like a police officer and a MAN! JJ is a terrific actor believe I tried conveying that the first time just bc ur a great actor doesn't mean you as a whole fit the role... I just think all the JJ fans r acting a lil to excited about his comeback. Feed him a Lil, get him some testosterone and hopefully get better writers for the Lucky role. Again this is not a slam on JJ bc I think acting wise he is great, I just don't think its believable on screen he is a DaD, a cop or a grown man....

To me JJ is believable because he is a Dad and a grown man in real life, I can't take away from the man because he has a baby face. The JJ I remember always came across as an old soul, so for him to be back I am ok with it. Just like I was ok that GV looked too old for the part.
The fact that Dante looked to old to be Olivia's pretty much was talked about ad nauseum in the beginning but now it is rarely because the actor is good at his craft. I believe the same will happen with JJ once he gets the meat of his s/l underway

See Dillon, I disagree. I think the subject was dropped because nobody CARES about Olivia anymore, LOL.
I said this in another thread: Say what you will about Sam's hot tub, but at least it led to plenty of Lucky-toplessness. With stupid SB being selfish with his sexy body, this GH fan had to take it where she could get it!
Also, I will be the first to admit that my enjoyment of JJ's return has been colored by the circumstances under which GV left the role, but I'd have to be blind not to see how JJ's presence seems to have brought TG BACK TO LIFE. So...if JJ's return will improve overall scene quality and make the writers stop writing Lucky as a schmuck, then I'm all for it.
As for whether JJ can pull off playing ADULT Lucky, I agree with the poster who said we should probably wait to see how it all plays out before judging. Jason Thompson doesn't have kids, but I buy him as Patrick the father. SJB DOES have a child, but I bought her as a psychotic woman willing to send an even more psychotic man after two teens. It's acting, after all.

GHFan413 go easy. I think it is clear JJ is a man and men do come in all shapes and sizes, visual and vocal range. No need to slam JJ because he looks young. First he is incredibly attractive in his own right. As has been stated by others JJ's lucky is more about charisma, understated intensity and strength. GV's Lucky took the character in a direction maybe JJ's lucky would not have gone but who is to say. I think JJ is perfectly capable of playing anything given good material.

I love Jonathan's voice always have seems like others do to he sings lead in his band...enation and they are very successful moreso in Europe than here.. I have no problem with his voice or looks. He's won three emmy's which means for me he has been recognized as an actor and can actually act which is always a good thing on a drama. I come to soaps for drama in "acting and storytelling" when I want pinups with biceps and push-uped bikinis I know where to go.
I like Greg and I don't think his version was written well so I'm looking forward to see how they will write JJ in the role..The sad part about his returning to a 5th rated soap is he is a constant visual when GH was the bomb when it was awesome and not a mere shadow of itself....
My favorite JJ's Lucky part was always that mouth of his those lips they read "kiss me" he has the most luscious lips....

Lol it's my opinion... And it's about a soap opera and someone none of us know personally, so I think everyone should stop taking stuff personal as I'd someone is referring to you.. && if you reply to something I write, understand it before you have a comeback..1. Never stated he was unattractive 2. Never said he wasn't a good actor, stated the opposite 3. I don't need a synopsis about what JJ brings as I've watched the show since 1991.
