Wishful Casting: Where Should Greg Vaughan Go Next?

I tell you what, ABC Daytime is gonna give me carpal tunnel yet! I know a lot of Greg Vaughan's fans aren't exactly sharing in my immense joy about the return of the ultimate Lucky Spencer, Jonathan Jackson, to General Hospital, so to soothe them I will go ahead and do a Wishful Casting for the talented actor. What about Vaughan as Nicholas Alamain on Days of Our Lives? Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) returns to Salem this Friday, her son can't be too far behind right?

If not DAYS, ABC should keep Vaughan in the family. He would work as either Jamie Martin on All My Children, or Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live. A lot of fans have been clamoring to see him return to The Young and the Restless as Sharon's boy toy Diego, I could get with that, but personally if he goes to a Bell soap, I hope it's The Bold and the Beautiful as a suitable recast for Thomas Forrester! Then there's always (well, maybe not always) As The World Turns. Chris Hughes anyone?

I think he should go back to Y&R as Diego. Like season said Sharon needs Diego! It would probably be nice to finally have a real man instead of mama's boy,I can't keep it in my pants, mini-TGVN Nick.

I think a return to Y&R would be his best choice. Diego and Sharon together again would be HOT!!!!
And as for B&B ... if he should go there then he should play Rick Forrester. That's the much more needed recast. As for Thomas ... he could just go back there wherever he was the last two years.

LOL just pointed out IF he should go there he should be a replacement for Rick not for Thomas. But to be clear ... HELLS NO!!! I don't wish him on that show.
Y&R would be awesome .... and I even would be excited for him to be the new Joey on OLTL. But I don't see GV moving to the east cost. So that's a lost cost.

Eric Brady! Sammy needs her twin, & he could triangle w/Brady for both Arianna and Nicole (esp. Eric was the only man Nicole truly loved w/o an ulterior motive, IMO.)The character's been exiled out in Colorado for a decade and we all know Jensen Ackles won't be back.

Nah he's not to old to play Crystals son they actually cast a full grown version of Nickolas (her son on Days) in 1998 so I think this way they'd be deaging him.

Please bring him to Days. If Marnie is reading this you really should cast him as Nicholas Alamain. And then bring back Martha Madison as Belle minus her husband Shawn Douglas (he could be MIA like Hope was when Bo first came back). Then Nicholas and Belle could be the next super couple on Days! LOL, no but seriously, he should go back to Y&R and hook up with Sharon. That's the only soap I watch and I still remember the day I heard the announcer say, "The role of Diego will now be played by Greg Vaughn." I think I got wet on the spot. I've been drooling over that sexy boy since I saw his hot sex scenes with Jaime Pressly in "Poison Ivy 3: The Last Seduction."

Victor Webster is actually the same age as Greg Vaughn. It doesn't make any difference, but at least it makes it more attractive to bring him on. I'd definitely like him to come on as Nicholas. The Alamains would make Days of Our Lives exciting again!

JJP, you took the words right out of my mouth! I was rushing over here to say just that and you beat me to it. I would love a Nicole/EJ/Eric triangle, NIcole would be caught between the man who she has to lie to in order to keep and the man who truly loved her and brought out the best in her.
Greg would have amamzing chemistry with Arianne!

I hope he lands someplace ASAP, he's a serious asset! He's probably best off, career-wise, at Y&R . . . and I've been hoping for Daniel C. as OLTL's Joey B., but I'd be thrilled if Greg got the part!! And with "Days'" resurgence, Eric Brady might not be a bad role for him, either. Crossing my fingers he gets snatched up soon!

My goodness DonkeyGospel! (Although I don't think I could agree more)....His scenes from Poison Ivy were steadily on repeat in my house, lol
I'd like to see him back on Y&R, but Diego was always such a background character...I'd really like to see him be part of a core family, and really given something to do (preferably something shirtless)
Jamie Martin (AMC), Chris Hughes (ATWT), Joey Buchanan (OLTL) are all good choices, but with these soaps all hovering over cancellation....maybe they could bring him to Y&R as a really SORASED Kyle Abbott. That family's dwindling these days, and we could still see him mix it up with Sharon...GH has no problem casting new characters with familiar actors (Sarah Brown, anyone?), why not Y&R?....Plus, it would really grind Jack's gears to see Sharon with his son..

I'm all for him being Eric Brady. That was such a good character and I hated when Jensen left the role. Sami needs someone to bounce ideas off of who isn't stealing her baby.

I don't want any more Martins in PV...they sort of suck now. I would say bring on GV as Anton Lang. Remember that character? He was Kendall's first love, and Dimitri Marrick's son.
I would love to see Rudolf Martin in the role again, but Greg Vaughn has those dark looks to pull off the Brooding prince.
Also, he could return and try to get Wildwind back from Dr. Hayward.

I don't really have a suggestion, but thanks Jamey for putting this up. I am excited about Jonathan Jackson returning, but I don't think that GH could have had a better ambassador for their show than Greg Vaughn. Having gotten the privilege of meeting him a few times, I can attest that he's a sweet, funny, gracious man that really appreciated his fans. He gave more to GH than they ever bothered to give to him, and I hope that he finds another gig soon - one where he'll be valued. Good luck, Greg!
