Sniff. I'm not even a GL viewer and this gives me the sads in such a teary eyed way....
The 60 Minutes interview w/Ellen Wheeler made me wanna hurl.
Such a sad week for the GL viewers.....
Heartbreaking. This week looks good, "always Bud" about frickin' time Wheeler
Although I have followed all the soaps over (too) many years, I always had a special place in my heart for Guiding Light. When I was an RA in college, I made sure that my floor lounge TV was always tuned to CBS at 3 (6 other floors watched ABC for GH).
Remembering the countless stories that held me enthralled, I started to mourn Guiding Light this week but as I sought out memories on YouTube, I realized the show I am truly missing ceased to exist a very long time ago. -- I have already lost many hours reliving Mallet's and Harley's romance. -- these rough cut scenes can pull me in more then even the best that exists today.
I think the thing that makes me sad now is not the end the pale shell that currently exists but of losing the hope that it might somehow get the chance to once again be that vibrant place that made me laugh, cry and think...
I haven't watched GL in a long time, but this is incredibly sad. A HUGE loss for daytime. The end of an era.
KMRDaytime I am with you all the way. I began the morning process last Thursday and it's a hard hard thing. I've watched GL my whole life, almost 21 long years. I also realized that the GL I will miss ended a long time ago. For me it ended the last time GL had had the Jeva wedding at the Beacon and brought everyone back. That was just wonderful, and the last lush, golden memory I have of the show.
You hit the nail on the head when you said that we will losing the shell of our show that somehow gave us hope that someday, our show might return to the glory it once was. For most of us as soap fans, we are all waiting for this renaissance that might never come, and when it does it's too late. This week is going to be extremely hard.
Im not a longtime viewer but even for me this is just too damn sad. The past two weeks have been really good & after watching todays show, I believe it will go out with a happy ending
It almost made me cry I am going to miss it and I didn't think I would
Anyone else get TENNIS instead of Monday's GL episode?
No tennis here..of course we get GL at 10:00 a.m...which probably had a part in killing the show. Would rather have had the tennis and GL on the air past Friday
This sucks more than anything that has sucked before.
Aww... that was so sad! Espically the scenes with Allan!
