Jim Romanovich Speaks out on Daytime Emmy Ratings
By Luke Kerr on September 01, 2009

Daytime Emmy executive producer Jim Romanovich weighed in on Broadcasting & Cable's story on the Daytime Emmys ratings to We Love Soaps' Roger Newcomb.
People should know that Broadcasting & Cable, a reputable trade magazine, counted the one hour red carpet show, which was NOT in prime time, as part of the awards ceremony. We actually did over a 2 HH rating and closer to 2.8 or more million viewers. Here’s what Nielsen said as far as the CW was concerned:Vs. CW's prior 4-week time period average (movies), the Daytime Emmy Awards telecast up +81% in total viewers, +122% in HH, +50% in W18-49, +57% in W25-54, +20% in W18-34, +20% in A18-49, +17% in A25-54 and +25% in A18-34.
Romanovich then talks about the response by advertisers, producers, actors, fans, and the Academy. Read the fully story at We Love Soaps.

Do not make gag! I'm sorry, but I'm not buying into all the darn excuses that Romanovich is dishing out.

Well it wasnt the best Ceremony I was pissed that GL and B&B got treated so badly but they didnt have much money and I guess other than my main gripes it could of been worse I think though that they need to find a better balance between talk/game shows and soaps I didnt see but maybe 3 soap stars interviewed on the red carpet all the rest was Rachael Ray twice and Erik Estrada (I know his wife was nominated) but Dr. Phil introducing the best show noms? Come on now! I do hope that they are put on the air next year and hopefully all the bumps from this telecast will be avoided.

Just letting people know Michael Fairman has the original GL tribute its longer and has more characters in it, of course it was cut for time.

I think they should show more clips of the actors acting ablities and not just a pic.I would loved to also see more of the stars sitting it thier seats. I thought was alright . I watch evey year
