BREAKING: Darin Brooks Wins Younger Actor (Updated)

Congrats to Darin Brooks for his win as Outstanding Younger Actor and his funny speech! How cute was he with his win and the reaction he had after realizing he made a boo boo?

Editor's note:

Brooks became the first Days of Our Lives actor to win Outstanding Younger Actor since Billy Warlock won in 1988. He won out over fellow Days of Our Lives star Blake Berris, All My Children's Cornelius Smith Jr., Guiding Light's EJ Bonilla and  2007 Daytime Emmy Younger Actor winner Bryton James (McClure).

The irony is that One Life to Live's Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy–both snubbed of nominations this year–presented the award.

Brooks to star in Spike TV's upcoming Blue Mountain.

Really shocked with this one I figured Blake Berris would take it....I guess i'm glad Days won though just shocked. Loved his acceptance speech though lol.

Another upset in my book. I was pulling for Cornelius Smith Jr., but I'm really GLAD that Bryton (McClure)(James) didn't win. Thank GOD. He seems like such a Diva and he annoys me so much.

Blake Berris was so good as Nick Horton. He really showed a strong range in character. He was excellent. Darin Brooks has never had much of a breakout role. He is now off of the show and onto a cable program. As a matter of fact Balke and Darin are both off of the show. Blake has some chops. This is a disappointment - Even though I am a DOOL fan.

Darin Brooks gave a better performance during his acceptance speech then he ever did while he was on DAYS, imo. Don't get me wrong, I like him & I think he's a fine actor - but Emmy worthy??

after seeing both Blake and Darin's Emmy reels, I really think Blake should've won. Darin did a good job, but Blake really has the chops and deserved to win. I'm glad Bryton didn't win again either.
