Tamara Tunie's "World" Turning Again?

According to Grayson McCouch's official fansite, Chauntee Schuler (Bonnie) is leaving and has just filmed her last episode on As the World Turns. Reportedly, Bonnie's mother Jessica (Tamara Tunie) will be back for her exit story:
Can't say too much, but mommy has something to do with it! Yes... Jessica will be back!

This is cruel! Tamara Tunie returns for a hot flash and then zips out of town. Damn!
O.K. Now why is ATWT dumping Bonnie and not recasting the character if the actress wanted to leave? Where are the rest of the African-American cast members? This show brought back Jade and gave her her father, Derrick. Thirty-seconds later both have disappeared!
Are they in the attic with Lisa Grimaldi? Are they locked in the pool house with Lucinda Walsh? No, I bet they're off with Tom's half-Vietnamese daughter in the basement.
Soaps do this all the time. They bring on actors of color and the fire them all. GH did it with its doctors. It hired Indian and Persian actors and then they were killed off or sent to the hospital's pharmacy never to return. Dr Laney seems locked away in her office. Oh, yeah, Dr. Kelly Lee is still there but she's there to look under the hood for pregnant Carly and Claudia..no storyline of her own.
Remember when Victoria Spaulding was a part of GL one day. Then the next day she was gone.

Loved Tamara T. as Jessica on ATWT back in the day...I loved any storyline where her family was involved . She was great! As for GL - I agree with you about Victoria Spaulding...she left without any explanation... What's worse, she is part of a core family (the Spauldings), yet she is never brought back for any family gatherings or Spaulding board room shenanigans. RIP GL.
Last comment - GL does have Remy and Christina . I may be in the minority here, but I think those two actors are awesome...Loved them in Florida enough to REWIND the tape...Haha....It's rare for me to rewind anything to watch again and again... Oh and I love Mel too...

While it will be great to see TT, I guess this means the exit of Bonnie will snuff out the color on the show unless TPTB decide to let Jade, Derek or Dallas out of minority closet.
What are the chances of that?
Who will bring diversity to the show?

I've got to take up for GL. They have always been one to have actors of color, and utilize them fully. The Grant's were big in the 90's. The Boudreau's have been here, and been in the picture, well except Mel, for quite a while. Then of course Victoria Spaulding was there, then left. But they don't seem to have any racial screw-ups that I have noticed (Correct me if I'm wrong). GL just seems to have the problem (in the EW Prime, not necc. now) of taking our favorites and our veterans and putting them in a closet to mold away. (i.e. Blake, Vanessa, Matt, Mel, Rick). But yeah.
Anywho, love TT. Excited about her comeback, even though it may be short-lived.

This is so offensive especially when their aren't any minorities left on that show. Having a diverse president means nothing because its just business as usual in parts of hollywood such as daytime. TIIC really know how to cater to the demographics and the next generation...not. Whether you're black or white these shows shouldn't be allowed to get away with this stuff in 2009.
