A former AMC cast member informed me that he is currently worried about Ray MacDonnell (Joe)'s status at AMC.

i don't think amc is being canceled anytime soon. abc wouldn't be using so much money to have them re-locate if they were thinking of canceling. BUT amc is probably going to be losing many of their BIG NAMES especially the alums who have a solid home and family for years. but if TK went to oltl, it would give oltl a big name and a pretty big story, one that will gain a lot of viewers simply because of TK's popularity status! it would be great to see TK & SH work together again it would definitely give john a run for his money. idk either way, TK is awesome and i wish him all the best wherever he goes or stays !

If AMC loses Lucci, Kaye, Minshew, Williams, Morgan, Canary, and Knight, the show won't have any of its big stars. The show would be gutted.

Why would AMC fans want to watch Dierdre Hall as a newcomer to the show instead of their favorites? One new actor can't replace such a large number of well loved characters.

BTW, if AMC got a good new head writer, why wouldn't the show improve?

I hope the show really goes all out for the 40th anniversary with tons of great flashbacks, which would be filmed in Dec. when the show is still in NY. It could be a farewell celebration for the show's New York home and a final chance for viewers to see NY-based AMC alumni (and current actors who won't be making the move). It would be great to see Julia Barr, Dick Shoberg, and some old recurring supporting characters (like Enid and Olga?). I wonder if the actress who plays Olga is still around? She was Erica's best friend for years... if Susan Lucci leaves, Olga could come back and offer Erica some great opportunity in New York. Erica lived in NY for much of the 1980's. I also wish they would do something special to retire the character of Palmer Cortlandt since this is the 30th year for the character, kind of like OLTL did for Asa while Phil Carey was still living. It would be a great chance to see Daisy and Nina one last time with Palmer.

I can't see Genie Francis doing something like this full-time. She would want a deal like Tony Geary has, which is what she wanted on GH. Her life with her family is in Maine.

That's absolute BULL CRAP! For that highly insulting comment alone I hope Susan Lucci sticks to her guns and don't move west with the show. This almost 40 year AMC viewer has had ENOUGH. Move it west, spruce it up, whatevah. Put a fork in this show. It's done.

This truly looks to be the end of AMC as we know it. It is going to be like when Loving morphed into the City. Some familiar faces mixed with brand new ones. I wonder if they would consider actually relocating the story out of Pine Valley?
Hopefully a serial killer will not widdle down the cast in similar fashion.

No shit they think Thorsten Kaye is the star of the show. He's eats up AMC. I'm not a fan of OLTL, but if he does go back to OLTL, I wanna see a Patrick and Blair re-hook up. They once almost had a son together, that baby saved Starr's life. I loved Patrick and Blair together, I always hated Marty.

Genie revealed in a recent Digest interview that she has moved back to LA — at least part-time. And BTW — that's not MY speculation. I highly doubt that will happen. I have to report what my sources tell me. And they're not the makeup person!

The "star" of AMC is someone who grunts and yells his way through each scene and looks like Thursday is his only shower day? Hey Thorsten, stay in NYC. Hopefully Jamie Luner has fallen in love with New York too. Susan (the STAR), if you finally cut the cord, no one will blame you. You know, I was just watching past years' opening credits on YouTube, and it's sad to see what the show has lost over the years. Look at the faces and remember the stories from the early and mid 1990s or even the early 2000s, and you realize that this show has become a shell of what it was. It lost its way for a while in the late '90s, but now it's gotten so far off track for so long that it's pitiful. I really long for the days of coherent plots and durable characters I cared about. I guess that's what cable is for today.

If she stops being Erica Kane, she risks keeping her face in the forefront and selling her products outside daytime.

ABC has worked around her schedule in the past and they will do it again. She may not work as many days, but I doubt she is going to give the show up.

You're being awfully presumptuous about what Susan Lucci wants and is willing to endure. Similarly, you also don't know what ABC would do to keep Lucci.

Do you know how participating in Dancing with the stars disrupted Lucci's life? Do you know if she liked commuting to the West Coast weekly?

Why make these kinds of statements unless you know the parties?

For all we know, ABC might be trying to constructively fire Lucci by making life too difficult for her.

I might be the only person that said she might not mind working in LA..

While at least 20 others said she would never want to re-locate..

DWTS was a problem because at the time she was working on both coast, not just one. She had to be east for AMC and west for DWTS, that's not the same as having one job one coast & working at a taping schedule to please both.

This is a fact... Susan Lucci has made a nice life for herself by BRANDING herself and much of that has been due to playing Eric Kane on AMC and the fact that she lost almost all of her emmy nominations for year.

I think it's lots to assume that she wouldn't want to go as much as it is that she would.

Susan Lucci is a team player, she went to africa for her network and a cause. She took two jobs on for ABC on both coasts because she is a team player.

As of right now she has said nothing to the public, even on Regis and Kelly, she walked the company line and stated that she had some time off and she would be thinking about it.

I think it even more presumptuous to assume that a woman who has worked for several decades on the same soap, for the same company and Branded herself as a name which is recognized outside of daytime because of it is going to jump ship.

All this speculation is at least putting AMC back in the headlines. I do hope Susan continues as Erica. If she doesn't, it would be smart of ABC to bring in someone like Deidre Hall. Heck, I might even consider doing it regardless if Lucci continues with the show or not. Thorsten loves his family and wants to be involved daily in his children's lives. None of us can argue with that.

Susan may jump ship because she has not been treated with the respect that she deserves. Instead protecting her reputation the network broadcast to everyone about Susan's paycut. Now they given the biggest star in daytime history two weeks to decide whether she wants to move to the other side of the country. Screw that! Susan side hustles are tied to her fame as Erica Kane, but the woman has made a fortune and is over 60. What else does she have left to prove? Nothing! Personally if I was Susan I would tell Brian Frons to kick rocks.

Also the idea of bring in Dierde Hall or Genie Francis is absurd. If Genie comes back to ABC daytime her behind should be on General Hospital and most people who watch ABC daytime could care less about Dierde Hall. Neither of those ideas are going to work. This show is going to be an even bigger trainwreck once it moves out west. I predict it will only last another year before cancellation.

Nelson's insiders are not exactly the best (based on prior scoops) Now I have to say that Jamey has proven that he has hardcore network insiders (who sound like they are pretty high up on the ABC Food Chain)
Regarding Susan- I think she will do some guest appearances, ect. She will probably end up staying in some capacity. In fact, I would bet on it.
But it will be a very different AMC.

And honestly- I don't wish any more of our soaps to fail, but I pray that this move is a ratings disaster and that OLTL- the soap that DESERVES to live- DOES. To hell with this show known as AMC- this show is longer AMC.

And in the end, if OLTL goes in 2010, then AMC will be toast by 2011. This really is going to be a disaster.

If Deidre or Genie joined AMC, I would have to give it a peek to see if it was worth my time (again).

It would be ironic if Dee did go up against Days. I would prefer for her to Join Y&R as Kay's real daughter. I would love to see her go up against Niki and Jill.

I always liked Thorsten on OLTL and Port Charles, I do not think Ron C. would let him eat the show. OLTL balances their stories and seems to keep everyone in the mix. It would be great to see another Marty/Patrick/Blair triangle. Todd could stay with Tea, and John could be the spoiler in the KISH romance.

Dear God do we really want Chuck Pratt writing for Genie Francis? I don't know which is worse her on AMC or GH. Thorsten should not be the star of AMC and I love Zach but if that show is there "legacy soap" and thats why it is being saved over OLTL losing Erica Kane would mean its not anymore and can be cancelled at anytime.

Is there any word on how ABC feels about the "star's" popular co-star Alicia Minshew and do they feel she's of the same value as they think Thorsten is?

On a side note, thank you to the DC Gang for all the incredible podcasts! I have been listening to all of them on my i-pod while walking at night these past few weeks. My dogs, partner, and legs appreciate the workout. It has become my guilty pleasure, and if anything they have been getting funnier. Especially when Jamie, starts in on MTS and her non-paycut. Kudos to all 5 of you.
