General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Since I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, let me just quickly say that I loved how Johnny handled Anthony. I also liked the Johnny/Spin scene. Spinelli is capable of being coherent when he’s not around Maxie.
I liked all the Morgan/Dante stuff and I was glad Dante roughed up Keifer, who needs some serious anger management classes.
Olivia needs a good smack. The woman is driving me insane. I get that she’s worried about Dante’s safety, but at this point, it’s almost more that she doesn’t want Sonny and Johnny taken down for being bad guys rather than what might happen to Dante. She was way out of line going to Dante in the laundromat and almost blew his cover and she was way out of line calling his superiors today.
Dumbest line of the day:
Olivia on the phone: “I’m Olivia Falconeri, detective Dante Falconeri’s mother.”
I mean, eeeesh. Imagine your boss getting a call from your ma…….when you’re an adult!
I'm loving Dante more and more, and even though I don’t hate Jax, I did become annoyed with his treatment of Dante, even though Jax was justified seeing, considering “Dominic” works for Sonny. I’m hoping Dante gets to rub it in Jax’s face once the truth comes out that he’s actually a good guy.
I think Jason really is a robot since most people would have likely died of blood loss by now and yet he’s not only still alive, but able to partially pull himself out from under the debris. And call me confused, but was Sam actually there, or was that just another hallucination?
Is it wrong that I’m annoyed that the Corinthos children are yucking it up in Cancun while their parents rip their hair out with worry at home?
For the first time in, well, forever, I’m interested in the ReNik story. When Lucky told Liz that the room got very cold and Nikolas became a Cassadine, my first thought was, ‘Hell yeah, rain down a little Stavros Cassadine fury on that little gold digger’. Now let’s hope he actually does come Monday. Please don’t fail me again Nikolas.

Sam was really there. It was the only complaint i have about yesterdays' episode. The writers really dropped the ball there. How did she get away from the big guy and how did she know the kids got away from jerry?
OTher than that pretty good episode. I haven't liked the Nic/Liz/Rebecca/Lucky story until now. It gave me chills when Lucky said Nic turned into a Cassadine. I am actually excited now for monday.

I'm pretty much watching GH for Liz (RH), and don't pay much attention to the rest of the storylines. Though, from what I have seen - I think Dante is intriguing, and it was good casting to have him and Morgan look similar.
ICAM about the Rebecca/Nik/Liz/Lucky/Ethan storyline - it's finally starting to draw me in. I may stop ff'd through anything Ethan. My fear, though, is that this will go the way of so many non-mob related storylines: promising so much yet yeilding so little (for example: the overhyped murder mystery).

Olivia needs to stop with it and tell Sonny and Dante that they are family .. Dante is grown up he is not a child anymore .. and now he is in grave danger more than than just finding out that he is Sonny's son ..........
I love Dante I just love him ... I can't wait to see him after he finds out he is Sonny's son Morgan is his Little brother .. and I do think he is right Morgan is kinds of left out Sonny should be with him more and more because after the girl will burn Jax will only care about her ................. and Michael will have Jason but who Morgan will have ???
I am with you Perki - I like to see the inner Cassadine comes out I think this will be the best think In Rebecca's story ... seeing Nick not acting as stupid but as a Cassadine ......
About Jason - Jason is a strong man he always was .. and he didn't breakout yet he just sat down and you could see that it was hard on him ...
BIG kudos to Steve Burton - yes I am Steve big fan and you could say that I am biassed but Steve did amazing job yesterday .. You could feel his pain and his sadness .. I had tears in my eyes . . AMAZING ......
Sam she was not a hallucination she was real and I am happy that she showed up .. I think we will never know how she got away she just did and to me it doesn't matter she is there and she is the one who saves Jason yeaaaaaaa

A Liz/Liason fan asked the other day if us JaSammers think GH has gotten better only because our couple is getting a bunch of shine. Then we all went into detail about all the things that are making this show better lately. The Nik/Lucky/Liz/NotEmily scenes from yesterday are a perfect example of what's getting better. Those were my favorite scenes from yesterday, and I CAN'T WAIT until Monday to see what Nik does. I got chills at the very end when his eyes got all black and he was staring at Rebecca like he was gonna kill her. DO IT NIK!!! Nik getting in touch with his Cassadine side also explains why he'd be willing to go after Elizabeth with full force in the future. I never understood why he'd do that to Lucky until now. I didn't know how TPTB were gonna make that believable, cuz even though I expect that kind of thing from Liz, (not bashing, just my opinion) I didn't expect it from Prince Nikolas.
The JaSam scenes were a little boring, but at the end I thought it was sweet because she was so worried about him and she kept taking his face in her hands like she used to when they were together. *swoon*
Olivia got on my last nerve yesterday. I like her, but I also felt like slapping her. I've got a great idea of how to reintroduct Brenda into the storyline. Since Kate is leaving, (hopefully soon) Jax can get Brenda to take over Crimson. Then Sonny can be obsessed with her again and Olivia can be with Johnny.

I have not seen yesterday's show, but I if Nik's dark side is coming out then why put Liz with him--He will be too dangerous for her(according to the writers!)
I just wish Jason's hallucinations had included Monica,Alan, Emily and yes Liz!!
I do agree that the show is better, but Jason and Sam together do not interest me.

No offense, but why would have they included Liz, Alan, Monica, or Emily? The hallucinations were about his current situation which is the fact that Michael and Kristina have ran away. He feels like he let them down along with Carly and thats why he saw them. Having the others in his hallucinations would have been counterproductive in my opinion. If you ask me Carly and her boys have always and will continue have the number one spot in Jason's heart.

Is Natalia Livingston's contract about up? How long will they drag out the Nik-Rebecca story? When that is over what will they do with character? She can't stay around as a reminder of Nik's gullibility. Any ideas? What about Ethan? OK, he's Luke's son, but with the end of the Nik-Rebecca story and his involvement in the con, will he stay around, especially without Luke in PC? Will he be around when Luke escapes from Helena and makes it back to PC? What about Helena's involvement with the con Ethan and Rebecca came to PC to pull? Lots of questions. Will there be any answers?
How much longer before we get rid of Claudia? Can't be too soon.

yesterday's episode was great.....I loved the way the hallucination scenes were shot...it was really eerie....I assumed they would tell us how Sam escaped next week....I doubt that they can leave us wondering if she was raped....that's insane...
Is Olivia insane....why is she running around town trying to blow her son's cover while saying she's worried about his safety??? I really did want someone to hit her....Also, those prolonged Jolivia kisses really are starting to irritate me... WE GET IT...THEY"RE HOT!!!!!!!!
Well I guess hell must be getting colder because I also enjoyed the the notEmily storyline yesterday...I can't wait for Nikolas to tear her to shreds....
I wonder how long GH will keep with this decent writing??? Can't wait for Jasam next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have definitely been enjoying GH lately! Yesterday's episode was the best in a long while. FINALLY, they are letting Nikolas shine! I actually can't wait for Monday, and not just because of Jason and Sam... but of course that's going relly well for me!
. I'm really excited to see Nik blow up on Rebecca and hopefully. He'd be much more interesting if they made him more of a true Cassidine. Not sure yet how I feel about Nik and Liz, but I'll hold off on judgement and give it a chance. This was for sure the first Friday in a while that I wanted the episode to keep going!

Funny thing, I am laid up abit with a semi-broken foot(don't ask). Anyway, I have been watching GH again for teh first time all Summer, and I have not seen Sonny, so either I am smart enough to only watch when he isn't on, or I've just been really lucky. The show is sooo much better without him. I like this kid Dante, he's kind of cute and it's refreshing that he's not some snot nose wanting to break into the mob 'cause his daddy is a kingpin. I look forward to Sonny and Luke commiserating one day over their offspring the cops.
I like Olivia and Johnny, and I agree with you Perkie, she needs to tone down the overprotective mamabear thing before she gets them both killed.
After all this time, I am hoping to see the dark side of Nicholas Cassidine. I am really looking forward to Monday(if you tell anyone, I will deny it) when he goes off on Rebecca.

OOh sweetiepie, good catch. I didnt think about the convo that Luke and Sonny could have about Lucky and Dante being in law enforcement. TOO AWESOME. I just hope Sonny says to Luke, I am proud of Dante, he's a stand up guy..are you telling me that you arent proud of your first born son?? Then Luke can harumph and pout and crawl into a bottle not to be seen or heard from again for at least another few months.

I have to pipe up and defend Olivia here. I know it seems like she is acting a little batty, but keep in mind that she has kept Dante's paternity a secret for years. Now, not only is Dante unwittingly on a mission to bring down his father, but there is a good chance that Dante will get killed - albeit, by Jason, in the process.
To me, this is much different than when Ric's relationship came out, or when we learned the truth about Reese. In both instances before, the person knew who they were from the outset, whereas here we have a very complex and volatile situation with a potential for unimaginable ripple effects.
At this point, I believe that Olivia is desperate to prevent the inevitable fallout. It's kinda like what Claudia has been doing for the past year, but for *good* reasons.
I too am one who has been enjoying the show much more lately. Of course, I just assumed it was because I had stopped reading spoilers.

There were a lot of things I liked about Friday's ep. I loved how people were telling it like it is!!
Dante going off on Olivia was looooong overdue imo!! Thank you DomiDante for calling her out!! I've become more and more frustrated with Olivia. Her "concern" about the situation is all about Johnny, Sonny and covering her own butt. She keeps saying this is about Dante's safety, but that's bull. She doesn't want him to stop being an undercover cop, she just wants him assigned to another case, one that doesn't involve her boyfriends. They're turning this woman into yet another hypocrite and I'm not enjoying it.
And I LOVED Jax going off on DomiDante! He was 100% RIGHT! Yeah, we know that DomiDante is a cop, but Jax doesn't know that. And considering how DomiDante came into their lives, and the fact that he's now working for Sonny - Hell Yeah he shouldn't be going near the kids!! Perkie, I know you feel that DomiDante should rub it in Jax's face when the truth comes out, but I don't think there's anything to rub in his face. I like DomiDante, but Jax was absolutely right. If he had let him take Morgan to the game I would have been disgusted. And I loved how Jax mentioned *some* of the people that have been hurt because of their association with Sonny: Lily, Kate, Michael. Thank you Jax!
I liked the Jason stuff. I thought SBu did a really good job. Actually, I meant to say this the other day, SBu for a second, showed fear in his eyes during his scenes with Jerry and I was thrilled! It was realistic and one thing that I've previously been critical towards MB and SBu on is there reluctance to show genuine fear for their lives, even when they should. There was a moment when Jerry pointed the gun at Jason and SBu had an "Oh f*ck!" look on his face. I was like "YES! THANK YOU!"
Anyway, I liked the Jason hallucination scenes. I thought they actually could have gone deeper with them, but they were good. And of course I LOVED Sam showing up!! I'm actually really pissed that we didn't see her escape, and I'm sure we're not getting any flashbacks. That's bullsh*t!! I HATED that they put her in that situation, but I was at least looking forward to her kicking the crap out of that scumbag, and we can't see it?! GRRRR!!!!!
Nik/Embecca/Liz/Lucky: Personally, I don't think the "dark" Nik is going to last very long. It'll just manifest itself into giving Embecca an attitude. He'll yell at her, throw things, maybe call her a whore (wait...am I talking about Nik or Sonny?) And of course, they're making it so that Embecca isn't that bad, she was going to tell him the truth, she's really falling for him, blah blah. So it's not like I can enjoy everyone turning on her. Why couldn't they have made her a really good b*tch??
As for Liz...I know that I should have been happy when she was giving Embecca the famous Snarkabrow, but I just kept thinking of LikNiz's drunken flirtation and how they're going to break Lucky's heart and I couldn't get into it. And when Liz looked Embecca up and down all b*tchy (I HATE when women do that!!), I was like, "Oh Embecca, just slap her." Not the reaction that TPTB want me to have, I'm sure.
I'd say it's another C+/B- day.

How much more chilling would it have been if the viewer saw Nikolas breakdown realizing that Rebecca had played him from the start AND THEN have him calm when Rebecca arrived and go forward with the trip to Greece on his private plane.
AND THEN have him return WITHOUT her having fully gone over to the dark side.
I'd be fine with the actual disposal of Rebecca being offscreen so that its vague enough that we believe Nik killed her but we don't have any proof.
NIkolas then truly becomes his father's son as the Dark Prince of Port Charles and begins his reign of terror with his moral compass completely upset, he's free to pursue Elizabeth, deal with Helena, and consort with Claudia. Tyler Christopher would get something to dig his teeth into and it has a ripple effect for his family. He's been Laura's son long enough, bring out some of the Stavros in him.
A villain we can love.

Yes, there's always going to be a part of me that wants Nik to be good, but you know what? The character has become stale and bland, it's time to change things up. And leaving Rebecca's fate open would be great. I would imagine that he didn't kill her - just dumped her (and Ethan) off on a deserted Greek island, lol.

agree with pretty much everything u said Perkie.
Morgan and Dante stuff was pretty good. Olivia is running around town like a chicken with her head cut off because she knows how devastating it will be for everyone when the truth comes out. Jolivia's makeout sessions are still cute to me, I'm not tired of it yet. I loved the look on Nik's face at the end, I so didn't want it to end, can't wait for the fight on monday.
And as for Jason, His eyes were all I could look at, they were so incredibly blue in HD. Sometimes, I think Steve Burton couldn't possible be any hotter but I'm always proved wrong.

I also wish that Monica, Jake, maybe Edward, had been part of Jason's hallucination. I know he can't have anything to do with them in the actual reality of the show, but really, couldn't he even think of his mother, or his child? If Nik goes Cassidine, that could be awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Dante was cool with Morgan, I hope that when the truth comes out have lots of scenes together, you get the idea that Morgan would just love having him for a big brother.

I must admit that I am actually watching GH again instead of keeping it on as background noise. This past week has been excellent. I love Sam as the hero, it goes back to the essence of her character. The Nik/Liz/Lucky/Reb scenes were also pretty good and that greasy Ethan has grown on me as well. Mark T. has blown me away with his recent castings. Dante, Michael, Kristina all amazing! It reminds me of the good ole days when we were introduced to Karen/Jagger/Brenda.
Please give me more Scrubs. Hell, I would be happy if they got their own show on SoapNet...lol
The only thing that really annoys me is Spixie. I love them as friends but they just don't work as a couple IMO. I am sure Maxie will come to her senses, unfortunately it may be at the atler...

Perkie, in response to your comments about Spixie Thursday and how Spinelli should pick up on Maxie's signals if he loves her so much, Maxie got herself into this mess and I have no sympathy for her. He'll be crushed when he finds out the real reason she accepted his proposal. Yes, she was honest with him about how marriage scared her. She said she would think about it, whidch we all know means yes to Spinelli because those were all the signals she was giving. But then she tells Robin and Lulu that she has no intention of marrying him, so she should have just told him that from the start and then he wouldn't have gone to Mack in the first place. She's giving Spinelli mixed signals all the time and it's not fair. I only hope she has the decency to be honest with him before the wedding actually happens so the entire marriage is not based on Maxie's childish need to say yes just because Daddy said no.

I think Nik and Claudia would be hot too, but only if Nik goes totally Cassadine. The only reason I wouldn't like it is because Lulu would start bitching, and I still remember having the strong urge to throw my TV out the window back when Lulu thought they were getting together and she started mouthing off to the Claw. Also, I think this "Nik going Cassadine" s/l has had a good build because I remember Alexis saying how worried she was about notEmily's impact on Nikolas back when she first came to town and none of us knew about the scam. TPTB better not blow this s/l with some stupid sh*t!! They need to make it so Helena brainwashed Emily into thinking she was Reb in order to bring out Nik's true Cassadine side.

Just a few comments in response to the above comments from other posters.
Jason and Sam make sense to me. I liked Liason, but Sam is more accepting of Jason's life. Elizabeth could never handle it. Jasam, in my opinion, are much more compatible.
Didn't Jason hallucinate Jake? I could have sworn I heard a little boy keep saying "Jake" over and over again at one point.
I think Spixie can work as a couple if they don't keep doing this childish stuff with them. Spinelli goes from courtly love to marry me in the space of a few hours. Instead of being completely honest with him, Maxie first tries to avoid having him ask her formally and then basically says maybe and then accepts his proposal to rebel against Mack, not because she loves him. Yeah, I know she loves him, but that's not why she accepted his proposal.
Someone wanted to slap Olivia, can't remember who. I didn't like the way Olivia did what she's trying to do, but I do understand it and can sympathize. The person I wanted to slap was Kate. I swear, if there was any way I could have reached through the tv and slapped her silly the other day I would have gladly done it! She thinks she's going to pick Maxie's wedding day? She'll tell Maxie how to dress? The readers would prefer that she marry Johnny, but they'll have to make do with Spinelli? Jason can't be Spinelli's best man? Jason is Spinelli's only real male friend. Who wa supposed to be his best man in Queen Kate/Connie's perfect little world? Federico? Please! They don't even know each other! What a witch! Someone, please, tel me she's leaving for good soon!
OK, I'm done ranting now. I'm going to see if I can find more spoilers. I'm so bad with spoilers; I just have to know!
One more comment; I like Morgan. I'm glad they don't seem to be making him a mini Michael. Remember the brat he was? I'm still not all that crazy about him, brain damage or no brain damage, but I like this actor much better than Dillon Cash.

GH is back baby! Congrats on the long awaited return to the show we have loved so much and missed for the first half of 2009. I guess sometimes they run out of ideas or really need to learn how to pick up the pace with their storylines. Take a lesson from OLTL please. Well all but the reveal of Rex's daddy but I guess certain things come with time.
Speaking of time I wonder if way back in Feb of 2008 when Kate was recovering from the heart problem and we heard the name Olivia mentioned and nothing happened until NOV. was that the beginning of the end of the MOB on GH? I mean what a perfect way to rid the MOB driven story lines. The better part of a decade is long enough. Let Sonny remain but fall back into the line with the rest of the cast. Allow equal time for all players please. It really just makes me think that is the sole purpose of the reveal that Dominic is in fact Dante, the reveal that Dante is a cop to take Sonny down, the reveal that Sonny is in fact Dante's dad. Maybe MB wants out and this will be his exit call. One can only hope I guess. Then Jason can become a motorcycle repair guy and take care of his kid and have a family with Sam. As I sit hear typing I wonder if the end was in site way back when Kate emerged in 2007. What amazing story telling if that is the case. While we had to put up with crap, mostly the killing of Emily and how the show began to tank due to that and the wishy washy way they wrote Claudia for the better part of a year, the show has been doing quite well for the past few years. I am just happy that the end may be in site and the MOB may be no more.
I totally agree with the thought that Nik needs to become a true Cassadine and have had Helena responsible for Emily being a brainwashed Rebecca. That would make Nik so good and maybe force Lucky to actually become the person he once was too! Lucky needs to go back to his roots and get away from this pretentious holy than though attitude he has had for the past few years. Ever since his drug addiction storyline Lucky hasn't been the same. Bring him back please! Going back to that I wanna see the pairing of Liz and Nik and pray they do it right and have us see it before the big reveal in November that Rebecca is Emily. That gives a nice build up to the story and will make all the nonsense the past few months worth it.
Luke's return better be better than what he was doing before he left. I wanna see him more involved in his kids life. Have him completely wrapped up in the Scam storyline. I wanna see him work with NLG again. How I long for Luke to say hello Natasha!
Andrea Floyd is great and can be so retooled to be an amazing character given a chance. Could you imagine if the love interest for Michael was the daughter of the Floyd's that would be priceless. I could only imagine the face of the Mayor. How about the idea of a love triangle between the Mayor and Mac and Andrea? Mac is way over due for a meaty storyline and one that doesn't revolve around the MOB. Maybe Felecia could return, umm Maxie is getting married!
Back to the Nik becoming his father again, I have a feeling this will setup what we have been waiting months for. It was hinted a while back and basically told that in the foreseeable future the return of Laura was envitable. I cannot wait to see Laura's reaction when she realizes that Helena turned her son into a monster. If they are smart that is exactly what they will do to him but no so far that there is no redemption for the character.
When Laura does come back to town she can bring Scott and an aged Serena with her. That way Alexis can have an interesting love pairing an odd attraction to Scott. While Serena can be a doctor and paired up with Dr. Matt Hunter!
Of course the love triangle of the century would be Luke-Laura-Tracy! That is a much more fitting match than that of Skye(Blaze)-Luke-Tracy. Darn now I long for Skye's return. Bring her back GH! She is much missed!
