Y&R: Freak Out! Le Freak, C'est Chic?

Hell, Heffer, and Slammer continue to torture the fans. The general concensious and I can say produly is that lane is the only reason most even tune in. And that the rest are on their last leg with this show. It's not having a bad week or two. It is well down hill from there.

Will someone fire those hacks so people can have their show back.

Y&r has become so plot driven that I with you no wonder the head of Sony went to Y&R studios and say, shape up or ship out.

In fact if you look around people are almost giddy with anxious for the Y&R to hit a new low in the ratings. When fans sans this board are rooting for a ratings fall you know everything didn't work out down there at the court.

Eileen Davidson is doing a hella job with this role. Granted, I hate the fact that Ashley still thinks she's pregnant, but... my distaste for the story aside, she ROCKS (and I don't even like Ashley).

My only question about the clip: Why is Ashley the one who looks like a ghost?

Oh I was just making a statement about the show in general. Jillian. Not directed at anyone specific. But is in poor shape.

I still love the show, but it is in trouble. I hope that something will happen to get the show back on track.

Lane & Nina are the only good parts of the show. Nina rocks. TC deserves 10 Emmys.

i'm enjoying y and r for the most part. i never fast forward. lol yet, the high they were on has sunk faster than dripping springs or whatever that was. lol the adam recast threw that s/l into limbo and now we're enjoying adam again but he's not being written. lol thom's return as pc3 fell flat and made him look like an ass and a bad actor. lol the show is jumping from plot point to plot point lately and missing the beats and not playing the stories out. as for ashley, love eileen's performance and but crazy about ashley being a victim and losing her mind. Hey i'm just echoing the sentiment felt around. I think if people go around to more message boards you would see the the extreme discontent with Y&R. If there were 30 postings a day in a board about Y&R then number of negative ones would 26 out of 30. And those get the most views and the most responses.

It was once said here that people like the TPTB over ABC were not looking at the message boards in relation to Bianca and Reese and well other things going wrong on ABC. And ain't that the truth. Well the folks over at CBS and Sony must not be looking at the message boards either. Because if they did they would find out that that viewers overall have a much different and very distasteful view of what they see coming across their screens daily. And it ain't getting no better.

It was interesting to hear someone say that Y&R deserved to sink more in the ratings. I couldn't say I agree more then did when I read that thread.

So It's time for some action and pinking slipping this hack of a writing and production team would be the cherry pie on top of my day.

And if soaps only have a few years left then what they are doing now is a great way to help it along the way to its grave.

There are parts of Y&R that drive me nuts. BUT, I love this show. I watch it EVERYDAY. There are parts of Y&R that are illogical and in poor taste. BUT, once again, Y&R if frickin' AWESOME!! My 80 year old grandmother loves Y&R.

I'm more than happy to point out Y&R's faults and also give it cheers. Even on its worst day, Y&R is still better than most every other soap.

They make good promos? That is the best they can get. And whoever writes the recaps for the show bless their little heart.

But that is as far as it goes. I side with the masses. It's time for change. I was listening to a Y&R podcast where the callers all said the fastforward though the mess. Which leaves them with about 3-5 minutes of the show to watch a day. And that is only if who they want to see is on air that day. I found that very telling. I know this place is only place where the last bastion of Y&R fans don't see red only see pink. But hey I said months ago that this would happen and as I predicted the and continue to say is that Y&R is becoming AMC to a majority of its fans. You and few others here excluded.

Of course Jim Reilly's family should be getting some checks for his hijacked storylines.

Eileen Davidson is the best whether she is playing snooty Ashley or goofy Susan, Davidson is one of daytime's most versatile actresses.

And did I mention, Raya Meddine is wonderful? I love Sabrina! She's not dead! One of Victor's enemies kidnapped her. Just wait, the person who sabotaged Nick's jet, also arranged for Sabrina to be kidnapped.

Y&R is doing the damn thing, all of you naysayers be damned!!! It's edgy, controversial, and keeping viewers glued to the screen. Yeah, there are so minor kinks, but MAB is bringing it as far as I'm concerned. My only grips are as follows:

1) Jill needs to be plotting her revenge against Cane for duping her and in agony over how Phillip faked his death. Jess Walton is not a backburner actress in the least. Give her a storyline that shows us why she has two Emmys.

2) The cancer storyline has been rushed. Give us the proper beats so we can actually sympathize with Lily instead of the breakneck speed we're getting.

3) Billy and Mac should have gotten one of those old school slow motion, Keith Sweat singin' the background
lovemaking scenes. I feel a bit cheated and I don't even like these two together.

4) Has it even be explained why Deacon went from pathetic drunk to conniving art dealer?

5) Update the opening credits already. I'm sick of the one we have now and I know Paul Rauch has the connections to give us a mindblowing introduction to this soap everyday instead of MS walking down that runway wearing that tired, funky black dress.

6) Give me my Drucilla back, for the love of God.

Other than these complaints, I know there are three things in this life I can count on. Death, taxes, and the Young and the Restless!!!

Yeah, I feel that the cancer s/l is moving too fast. Slow it down, MAB. This should be use to educate us about ovarian cancer, not make it about Cane and Lily. They should be the aftereffect.

Jill making Cane her legal son and ignoring Billy is not in Jill's nature. She would never take a fraud over her bio kid.

Billy and Mac are terrible. No chemistry and Clementine can act, but is wrong for the part of Mac. Chloe and Billy have great chemistry.

The P3 reveal was botched royally except for Tricia Cast, it was a dismal failure. Thom Bierdz, sorry, man, but tptb should never undid the Phillip's death s/l.

Deacon blackmailing Amber so that he can get her hello kitty doesn't make a bit of sense. Why not just come into town and seduce Amber, not throw her on the bed and hold her hands and shove your tongue down her throat. I feel so bad for Amber and she doesn't deserve this. she did so horrible things, but to be treated like trash was disgraceful and tptb needs to be ashamed with themselves.

Move the Adam s/l along. It is too slow-paced and we are sick of Ashley going crazy. Put her and MJ in the nut house together and get a two for one deal.

The quad from hell is so played out that I don't care who ends up with whom. They are should just move in together and just be a family.

Get back to the corporate s/ls, that what Y&R excellence at.

Well, joss, I think that david is talking about Deacon. He is the worst pimp and Amber needs to shot him like Nina did David Kimble, good times.

Jillian: I don't like Ashley OR Nikki. Nikki has some serious emotional problems. Victor is like a father-figure to her, I think. And considering the fact that she was molested and ended up killing her father makes me believe that they should explore that part of her history and why she feels like she's not being loved unless she's being (emotionally) abused.

Ashley has always been a snooty, cold-fish to me. I hate the way she treats people, but rant aside, nobody can play her like Eileen Davidson.

Y&R on the whole... oye... I'm only FF'ing the Scooby D'oh Gang right now. It's kind of hard to skip the rest because some days are effing brilliant and other days are such a waste. I don't know the script and breakdown writers' names, but I think I can recognize their work - and I never know whose work is going to be airing on a particular day and I'd hate to miss one of the good writers' days. The show still has that schizophrenic thing going on right now. The one good thing that I can say about them is that they have pared Gloria wayyy back, so I can tolerate her again. Now, if they can please severely limit Amber and her little-girl-shrieks (which is so unflattering) and tone down her make-up and brassy blond peroxide job, I would cut down on my trash talk. Oh, and Soap gods, puh-leeze end this thing with Adam and let him go to an off-screen prison, hospital or psych ward somewhere. Y&R is still a heap better than the rest of the CBS soaps. I tried to watch B&B, ATWT and GL last week and just couldn't.

GL was good. I love Phillip and Reva having a chat. I think that Y&R needs to go back to the little moments like GL is doing.
