As I reported months ago, Maureen Garrett is returning to Guiding Light! According to CBS.com, Garrett will reprise her signature role as Holly Reade beginning August 26th. Also, check out Liz Keifer's twitter to find out who she will share her first scenes with.

Thanks for the great news, I was about give up on it it's so gloomy with stars leaving or dying, just couldn't watch it anymore. Wasn't Johnathon spouse to come back? With all the gloom and doom news something to get excited about.

WOOHOO ! I love Maureen Garrett as Holly...Seriously, THE reason I started watching GL faithfully back in the day..I started watching back around 1978 and enjoyed the Amanda Wexler/ Lucille Wexler stuff but really got HOOKED when Holly and Roger were on screen...This news made my DAY....Maureen Garrett is truly missed on GL.

Yay! I have always enjoyed Holly, if she was with Roger or not. Can't wait to see her again in scenes with Ed and Blake. Too bad Ross isn't around any more.

Does anyone remember India von Halkein (loved that name) one of Philip's X wifes. Funney story line were all of Philip's X got toghether for a Spaulding take over. And love Jenna Bradshaw, I loved there acsent, good looking women, loved Jenna when she was a jewel theif. They made the show fun. Those were the days.

This is great news..too bad it couldn't come under better circumstances.
I read an article on Michael Zaslow's website where Maureen said - and I quote - "I would love it if Roger just haunted Holly forever in her dreams!" she exclaims. "And she could get to have scenes with him as he was, coming and talking to her."
I doubt they would/could be that creative, but how AWESOME would it be if they could somehow pull this off with some old footage of Roger, even just a few seconds, in a dream/nightmare sequence. Would be a great tip of the hat to MZ and all he meant to the show.

Thanks, Jenna Bradshaw is coming back on July 24 has a ghost again, to bad couldn't back for real. This is the information I've been dying to hear!
I was beginning to lose hope.
To me, Holly is one of the strongest links to the past...the glory days of Roger & Holly were among the best ever in daytime.
I am a HUGE Maureen Garrett fan, and this news makes me happy.
Now...if only there would be a new home for GL and Holly. I would totally deal with two or three shows a week (as is often the European model)if it meant GL could survive elsewhere. But, alas, I will accept her return for a few weeks as a consolation prize.
I am in total agreement with you Ryan-Scott:
MG should never have been let go from GL. But, I'll take it!

I just spoke with my cousin who is employed by Jeff zuker(NBC)the word has it that Guiding Light is being considered to have a new home at NBC!!! there is a number to call to voice your support for GL having a new home with their network 555-5555) i was told the more calls that they receive will definetly help with their decision!!!! So if you all feel the same as i do about Saving our show , its a last ditch effort lets keep r fingers crossed and maybe we will hear some Good News with-in a week!
