Thank God it’s Friday! It’s been a long week with far too many sad stories. Which is exactly why I look to my guilty pleasure to uplift me, not bring me down any further. Can GH pull itself out of its slump to pull the fans out from theirs?
They could have started by giving Rick Hearst a better send off… Can we even call what we got a send off? Ric mentioning to Claudia and Diane that he’s leaving town for an offer he couldn’t refuse in LA. Is that how you write out an Emmy winning actor? I know, I know, there wasn’t enough time is their excuse. There was plenty of time. The minute Hearst was dropped to recurring an exit should have been prepared. They didn’t seriously think another show wasn’t going to come and snatch him up, did they? GH isn’t that full of themselves, are they? I’m sorry, this fan is bitter. Was that parting line of “I’ll be back” supposed to ease our pain or toy with our emotions? I’m not sure if there are enough words to describe just how disappointed I am in this sendoff.
More Coleman? It was nice to see Coleman back behind the bar at Jake’s and the bar SEEMS to be getting a resurgence of scenes. It bothered me when some day player filled in the other day but it LOOKS like Coleman will be making another appearance soon. YAY!
Who’s Robin’s suspect? Robin thinks she knows who really killed Brianna Hughes. Will Andrea Floyd overhear Dr. Scorpio’s suspicions? What will the first lady of PC do with that info? But will there be more to this story? Like Robin clearing the name of someone she cares about?
So I already mentioned a few times that the Mayor is taking Alexis down with him. Why? He wants to take some of the heat and press off of him by putting it on Alexis. Apparently, an affair with the Mayor means the DA can’t do her job. So what does an arrest for murder mean for the Mayor? But is the Mayor’s intention to get the charges dropped by claiming that Alexis is just a jealous ex-lover? Kristina is mortified when the news of her mother’s indiscretion hits the news. All bets are off and apparently so is Kristina’s good girl act.
It’s weird to not be dishing about the usual suspects being dragged into the PCPD. Hey it’s still weird to me that we hardly see the PCPD anymore. It used to just be the fans having to dispel reality enough to believe that criminals walk free in Guza’s world. Now, they don’t even bother to show the PCPD anymore. But they must have used the set while they had it rolled out. There are RUMORS of Jason being brought in for questioning. What’s Diane to do? She took a high profile medical malpractice suit because Corinthos – Morgan have been “unusually law abiding.” Will Jason’s “questioning” take her away from the big case?
Michael, Michael Motorcycle… No! Just feeding into everyone’s insistence that Michael is Jason’s biological son. As previously SCOOPED, Sonny buys his boy a sports car and apparently he didn’t clear it with Carly first who is even more convinced that Michael should move in with the Q’s. Now, I love the Quartermaines and while I would love nothing more than to see them get some much deserved story, IF written properly, the Q’s are hardly a moral compass. Yes their business is legit but the Q’s have historically not been on the up and up where business or personal matters are concerned. This is where Jax’s blackmail of Claudia comes in. He wants her to help persuade Sonny that the Q Mansion is the best place for Michael to reside. Jason is initially against the idea but agrees that at the very least, Michael will be safe. Will Michael have the old man snowed too? RUMOR has it Edward is a little too permissive with his great – grandson and despite Michael being upset with Jason and Sonny for agreeing with Carly, he may be changing his mind when he has Edward giving in to his every wish.
Spixie Stall? Not in that sense. Maxie is ready to go all steam ahead and Spinelli puts on the breaks. Why? He wants to court her properly. Awwww, now that’s a love story. And now that I’ve said that, they’ll screw it up.
RANDOM and CRAZY… Ethan’s spying… Will he blow Rebecca’s cover? Will Ethan be a jealous lover or worried that Rebecca is going to back out on their con and leave him hanging? My new favorite duo, Johnny and Jason will be working together again. Who is Johnny loyal to? Not his sister apparently as Dominic wants him to help but Johnny refuses to aid the newbie in taking Sonny down. But Johnny MAY have his own issues with Sonny as he thinks Olivia isn’t as over Sonny as she proclaims to be.
How about a little fun on a Friday afternoon? Fanfic? Spoiler? Who is part of a hit and run? Who is the driver? Passenger? Victim? What MAY the victim try to spill from their hospital bed? Will they make it? Discuss...

Hey Regan, do you think we'll be seeing Lulu in any pairing anytime soon? I still think that they should explore her and Matt or even Dante/Dominic.

Thanks Regan. Oh I lurve me some Coleman too. How depressing was Rick Hearst sendoff?? I expected it to be bad but that was just deplorable. Ric was an awful character but an amazing actor!! He'll be missed.

wait...If Ric is gone, what is the point of SORASing Molly?. I thought the whole Idea was to have him interact with his daughter. We're supposed to believe he would just leave town, without even mentioning how his daughter would cope? Freaking GH...I don't even understand them sometimes.

There were RUMORS that Lulu was getting a summer love story however, JMB landed a pilot and a movie. While GH is working around her schedule, it should affect her screentime to a certain degree and some of that story MAY have to be trimmed. Those RUMORS however had named Dante and Matt as possible love connections. Who would you like to see her with?

When the news hit that Molly was being aged, the GOSSIP was that she and Ric would get some time together before he departed. Apparently that was just GOSSIP and nothing more. Timing is everything and apparently GH is not that great at managing their time.

I heard somewhere Kristina hits Kate with a car and Michael takes the blame which than sends the two of them on the run. Any truth to that? That would I guess make sense because that would stop Olivia and Sonny from getting closer.

Please do not let the writers ruin Olivia for me by hooking her up with Sonny, I mean I could understand having feelings for the father of your kid, even feelings because its like unfinished business but can they not see what a gold mine they have with Jolivia.
Why can't Sonny have a female friend that is not affected by the magic stick, there is no way in Hades I would pick Sonny over Johnny..

True... however I would have liked to see more of a traditional send off. I know I should count my blessings that he didn't leave as most GH'ers depart but I'm still bitter that they dropped him.

While I have nothing but kudos for Rick Hearst the actor I am not nor ever have been a fan of Ric Lansing, the whacko.
Here is a story for GH to do: Johnny gets Olivia pregnant with a change of life baby. Now wouldn't that put Sonny's jockeys in a wad!
I'd really like to see GH concentrate on one story for a while and let us follow it to its conclusion rather than let said story die a lingering death from inattention. The Skank Squad (Sonny and company) have too many storylines going on while the rest of GH gets too few air minutes to develop anything. For my part, I'd be happy to let the mob and all its related stories die from inattention while stories like who killed the mayor's mistress, Nik and Rebecca (boring yes but the potential for Helena mischief is there), Jackal P.I., Kate and her magazine, and finding a suitable mate for Matt get centerstage for a while. Sonny Corinthos and his growing brood of roosting problems really don't interest me at all.

In a week full of bad news, hearing KeMo is back in action on GH is most welcome. Thanks.
PS. An insider over at daytime dish said that the Liarson pairing was dropped because focus groups didnt like them as a sneak around couple and guza doesnt want to change Jason. (as in domesticate him) JaSam gets a positive reaction as an adventure couple and that gave Guza an alternative...that if no one worked with Jason "as is" they might have tried him as a family guy, but since they have the JaSam option and that allows Jason to stay action superhero guy, they decided to go with that. That makes it sound like its the vision on Jason that traps the pairings.

ICAM with maxsmom - that Liason scene with Jake was just a crumb to a starving fan.
I also agree with sueboo54321 - the writers are stuck in a corner and - let me add - stuck in reverse and stuck on a circle going nowhere. I've said it before and I'll say it again - if Liason isn't the endgame - why revisit JaSam and LnL2? Where's the creativity in that?

Jason is not an adventure guy, he is a hitman. Sam is not an adventure girl, she is a character they have never figured out.
Once they decided to break up Liason, they had to rewrite Jason. Jason was once a straightforward character who lived by a code. As was pointed out today, he was Sonny's perfect henchman, and later the perfect mob boss, because he lived logically perhaps it was flawed logic but it was logic. Adventure is not what Jason wants, because adventure implies surprise and Jason prefers order, or at least the real Jason did.

I was just over the moon with Jason holding his son .. it was such a great thing and also beautiful I am sorry but when the loser hold him I can't watch ...
It's like with Patrick and Emma this are great scenes .. cos it looks beautiful !!!
The Morgan family could have been such great scenes .....
And by the way I I don't think it will be adventure It doesn't look like it they will probably drive together to find the kids BUT I don't see what kind of action it could be????????

Actually the "real" Jason Morgan does like adventure, risk, and surprise. I know it was a long time ago, but we shouldnt forget exactly how Jason came to Sonny. He was riding his motorcycle like a madman on top of trains. Robin was TERRIFIED that he was going to get himself killed. Sonny relented after telling Jason NO on numerous occassions because Jason assured him that if he had somewhere else to channel those types of energies that he would stop with those kinds of antics, and thats exactly what happened. Jason has tried to leave, much the same way that Sonny has, and the reason he never entirely does is because on some level he likes the power and the excitement (he just doesnt like putting those around him in danger). Now is that how the character should be written? Some would say yes, some would say no, but nevertheless that is how historically it has been portrayed. Moreover, since Guza wants to keep Jason as Jason Morgan, mob enforcer and not Jason Q or Jason half Morgan/half Q, those types of storylines, where Jason raises Jake with Lizard were never before the focus groups, so there is no telling how they would have tested. For all you know, they could have flopped, and I would argue that if the headwriter isnt interested in that vision of Jason, his lack of interest would come across in the writing. For me, if they are going to change Jason, they should have Raynor get the goods on him and agree to let him go in exchange for working for the WSB (ala Roy DeLuca only WSB instead of FBI) Have Jason and Sam as the junior partners to Robert and Anna.

First, Jason and I or at least SB and I are the same age and there are countless things I did then that I no longer do, because with age comes a bit of maturity even on soaps. Did you see today's conversation with Michael and Monica? Besides, letting off steam on a motorcycle is not the same as the requirements of the of a PI. And Sam fans, why would you want your girl with a man who said and did the things Jason has said and done.
BTW, I am a Liason fan, and really the childish nicknames lower the quality of the discussion, because I am a Jason fan and I am a Liz fan. I could accept them apart and with other people, for example and sorry Scrubs fans, but I could see Jason with Robin. And I could also see a sl where Jason finally gets therapy and falls for Lainey.

I don't have a problem with any pairing that makes sense and is arrived at organically. I hate these stupid focus groups determining who is written for and what is written. Do they run the focus groups in strip bars? Is that why the necklines are getting lower and the clothes tighter? I worry for Claudia. She may have trouble breathing soon. Her baby's circulation is being compromised. Sam and Olivia are going to catch their death of a cold.
The only people who are happy with the writing these days are Samfans and I argue that they only care for her and are not true fans of the show.

Jason wasn't into adventure. He was into risking his life because he didn't have anything or anyone grounding him. That was over a decade ago. People mature and take responsibility for those around them. Jason has many people depending on him. He shouldn't be running off having adventure with Sam. He should be handing the brats off to their parents and letting them learn how to deal with them. He has his own child. There are many ways the writers could have Jason involved and action oriented without compromising his true character. Jason Morgan would never turn his back on Jake. He loves children. Let him have the family he has always wanted.

i am a jason fan. and honestly i think liz and jason are not right for each other. now i love elizabeth, i do, but she lives a happy / normal life with her children and lucky. i know jason is the babydaddy but lets face it, he does not feel like jake is safe with him so he has to do the next best thing and live a life where he can't be a part of his life. as for sam, i think sam and jason were good together at that point of their lives. nowadays, i see them together and its wonderful but its wonderful because its not romantic. its two friends who share a lot of history together finding their way back to trusting each other without any romance and i think thats how it should be. i like that jason and sam are friends without any baggage. they are beginning to trust each other again and depend on one another kind of the way carly and jason are. now i'm not saying that jason/sam are anywhere near the jason/carly friendship but its nice to see that they can both move past all the crap they have gone through. i'm not sure about any romance because its inevitable that eventually jason/sam will once again come to an end if they found their way back together.
i personally think they should give jason a new love interest. someone else to open jason's heart without all the unnecessary baggage. someone new and fresh. and i'd prefer them not to let jason jump back into a new relationship either. i want GH to try and let jason slowly move into one. the way he did with sam -- i mean when jason / sam first had scenes together -- they both HATED each other and slowly their love blossomed. i'd like someone new for jason -- maybe not a love interest just another woman in his life .

Those "focus groups" focus on nothing but someone's agenda.
Characters should evolve, not be stuck in some preconceived notion of who they should be. I've said it countless times though, if were concerned with Jason staying true to character, the real Jason Morgan would be in his son's life.
Is Elizabeth more suited for your cookie cutter, white fence life? Now, yes but that wasn't always who Elizabeth was. I'm past the endless hope of a Liason reunion. I want Jason to be Jason and not some pathetic version who will be Sonny's babysitter yet again.

I got the point that Liason won't happened .. But It doesn't mean that he can't be around his own son Look at the little scenes when he hold Jake it was so beautiful and moving and if soaps main story is family and fathers and children why Jason is not with his son????
I don't love Lucky and I hate him more when he is around Jason son ...
Jason had a amazing scenes with Michael it is a shame that they won't do the same thing with Jake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
