DC #422: CBS and Days Five Finger Hello

Oh brother. There is so little worth watching on Y&R. When the President pre-empted the Young and the Restless on Tuesday, it was actually a relief!

How preposterous most of these storylines are! Let me count the ways:

1. Ashley is walking around with a dead baby inside her. She should have a life-threatening infection by now and be delirious with fever.

2.Mary Jane is petting a dead cat and plotting her reunion with the man she once shot when she was married to him and named Patty Williams.

3. Adam has been sticking needles in his eyes (something Jack Nicholson swore he'd never do in "Terms of Endearment." Now he's blind for real. That whole gaslighting Ashley storyline is too silly for words, anyway.

4. The Scooby-Doo gang, also known as Kevin, Jana, Amber and Daniel, stay up to silly hijinks that land them in jail. A storyline that quickly followed the uber-ridiculous Chipmunk Bandit.

5. They're about to torture us with the silly Nikki/Paul wedding being postponed.

6. Whiny Victoria and her poor, underused husband, J.T. have no storyline to speak of.

7. Crazy Gloria and her husband are mercifully absent for the moment.

8. Jill and Katherine are on-again, off-again relatives. Murphy's missing in action. And I'm so sick of that miscast Mackenzie, who looks 10 years older than Billy, trying to be romantic. It's too much of a stretch for her limited acting capabilities.

9. Speaking of limited acting abilities, that young lady playing Ashley's daughter is the worst. The whole teenage storyline is such a pale imitation of summers past that it's too sad to be laughable.

10. There's no purpose in bringing Nina back only to wreak havoc and find out her husband Phillip faked his own death to get away from her dumpy ****.

10. Cane keeping vials of frozen blood in the freezer to use for DNA tests? Only to let someone swab his own cheek for the baby daddy debacle with Chloe? None of this makes any sense.

Do we look stupid CBS? Is there a problem in the corner office? Do you need yet another shakeup of writers and producers to get this show back on track?

Jillian, you went off, LOL. I want to say I didn't get mad at you, I was just speaking out about why the black characters are on for just social issues? I was just saying why MAB just write AA just as characters, not the after-school special of the month? I was just speaking out about that, but I want to see how the show is going to go with it.

P&G should be ashamed for the way they treated their fans and actors hope and destroying this classic soaps GL and ATWT.

B&B needs new head execs because BB is turning the viewers off the show. The only s/l I liking is Owen and Jackie. I want Jackie and Owen to hook up because they have chemistry and Bridget can be the third wheel, LOL.

Loving Otalia and wish that they would just kiss. Ellen Wheeler needs to be away from soaps for a very long time. The only writer that needs to work is JLH. Bring her to B&B, ATWT or GH. She can spruce up one of the soaps.

Simon I wasn't referring to you.... U cool people! Now if u step out of line I may have to pull my hair back! *LOL*

Thanks for explaining why ATWT is all about Queen Meg with Bloom having written PC when MW was on it. That could explain it cause otherwise, it really makes no sense that all these men are not only panting after her but are willing to do ANYTHING for her. Ick.

The less said about Bonnie's weave, the better. I think the actress is attractive, I don't understand why no one has looked at that thing on her head and not staged an intervention.

After all this talk about Bonnie's weave I checked into ATWT last week and caught a couple episodes. All I can say is the person doing that head must be blind. That weave/wig is horrendous!

First David now Karenbabbot will be entering every Y&R thread about his or her distaste for the show.***RME***

Yeah, you clearly see it on screen there is no effort to try and save ATWT like their was at DAYS. I saw the writing on the wall for months now, P&G wasn't going to save the show. All these "big returns" of actors is just lip service. I'm really sad and pissed that P&G and CBS isn't doing anything and just going to let another soap with 50+ years of history go down the drain.

This podcast was hilarious as usual! Poor Bonnie...her weave is becoming more of a star than she is! "The Weave" needs to be on the cover of US Weekly & People.

Allison Sweeney is bringing it! DAYs is alright right now for me.

Jillian just keep telling them it how it is and we love you for that.

As for the Bold & the Unbearable...no words.

And last but not least, THANK YOU MEL for going off on EW, I used to cut her slack because at least she cared about her show but she's just not a good fit for the show. I don't think she's a hack but her vision for GL is not necessarily whats best for the show.

Yall got sponsors now? If so good for yall b/c it's been a longtime coming and you guys deserve mucho exposure!

Great episode guys and I have to give it to Mel for that rant. I for one want to see how the story plays out, but I can see it that way to. They brought back Grant five yrs after they pretty much killed his character and now they are going to kill him clean Sigh.

And I'll probably get stone, but I would've rather them killed off Reva than Phillip.

You know, Jillian, I think there are no bras left for Phyllis! Sharon only owns one pair of white and one pair of black underwear, Chloe has had to wear that same black top underneath for the last few weeks...

I could not believe they were going to end the show killing Philip either, and I'm not a long time GL fan. Not re-united Josh, Reva, not to mention if Natalia is pregnant that kills Otalia's momentum. I don't understand. I understand Mel's rant.

Enjoying Ali and Shelley performances on Days. Excited about Wally and Crystal coming to Days.
Loved hearing Jamey and Jillian's excitment on these events.
