RUMOR REPORT: Is Guiding Light's David Kreizman Going to As The World Turns?

Don't cry for David Kreizman, Peapack. Rumblings are getting louder that Guiding Light's last sole head writer is heading over to As The World Turns to co-head hack that soap opera with Jean Passanante. While we're praying this doesn't happen, it certainly wouldn't surprise us. We've been hearing for awhile now that Kreizman isn't happy about GL "co-head writer" Jill Lorie Hurst receiving so much acclaim for resurrecting the soap creatively.
Kreizman should be glad JLH managed to clean up so many of his and GL executive producer Ellen Wheeler's messes in such a short amount of time. If only JLH had been put in as quarterscribe for the Peapack Players a year earlier, we might not be speculating where GL will go after it leaves the CBS airwaves.
Kreizman did one storyline right during his time as head writer of GL— the introduction of an adult Jonathan Randall (Tom Pelphrey). The rest of his tenure reads like an excerpt from Exercises in Soap Operatic Incompetence. So, of course the only logical thing to do would be to reward him with another soap opera to maim.
Did Procter and Gamble lose the Rolodex card with Pam Long's name on it or something? What about Claire Labine, the Dobsons, or I don't know, why not look outside of daytime for a writer to save ATWT? It worked with Hogan Sheffer. This move screams of closeknit executives helping out a friend, as opposed to doing what is best for ATWT. Oh well, I guess ATWT too can always come back as one of those nifty, fan fic blogs.

So what you're saying is he's even worse than Jean Passanante?
Gah, ATWT fans just can't cut a break. Damn.

DK made huge mistake, but JP has been beating that poor globe with a steel bat for long enough. You would think that P&G/Telenext would find a HW that can save this show so they won't be in the same predicament they're in with GL...

P&G/TeleNext should try to lure back Nancy Curlee to daytime to save ATWT. This woman reinvigorated GL in the early 90's, and Jill Lorie Hurst has nothing on her.

Okay time to get Claire Labine, Lorriane Broderick or Nancy Curlee out of their forced retirements and let them write this show. While they are it replace CG with Wendy Riche

What about Tom Casielo as head writer. He would be great at the job or another legacy writer instead of the same hacks getting switch around to ruined another soap that is already ruined.

I believe Tom C has just signed a contract with Young and Restless. Anyone else hear that?
If he is free thatn yeah he'd be great at ATWT

What about getting Hogan Scheffer back to aTWT? He revive the soap and he can do it again and get ED Scott back at Y&R.

Dear God!!!
Well its official we can kiss ATWT goodbye. P&G brings the HACK that destroyed Guiding Light to its last and floundering soap. Seriously, Jeff Zucker at NBC should hire these people because they really know how to kill soaps.

Well, I guess we all know now that CBS and or TeleNext wants ATWT gone for good next year. I've been hoping, praying, wishing for a new head writer for ATWT for a long time, but I guess the old saying rings true: Be careful what you wish for. If it's true this man likes his kidnappings, incest, and pimping of thugs, then him and JP's hearts will be all aflutter with even more kidnappings, and the pimping out of Thugsty, crazy ass Paul, and step cousins Parker and Liberty. Poor Damian is even being knighted as a humanitarian so he can prop up the Patron Saint/Goddess of Oakdale, Meg Snyder. This show is begging to be cancelled.

Well, it is already canceled, after next year, but this show needs to get it together and the other soaps too before they won't be any one to watch.

Pame K Long - Jill Lorie Hurst - Nancy Curlee - should all be apart of the new "Guiding Light" team when it finds a new home...it really could be amazing if that were to happen.

except for the late douglas marland, the dobsons were the ones who really made guiding light shine...pam long's writing style (on both gl and texas )was beautiful but i think she presided over the slow drift away from gl's history and core characters..nancy curlee also was good....somehow as the actual writers or story consultants, kidnap those dobsons and dont release them until both gl and atwt are flying high again......

DK started fine at GL. Everyone seemed excited at the time. He had good ideas. But then it went downhill. IMO, Jonathan and Jammy bought GL some time. And I loved them. But even I saw that there was no balance in the stories. The rest of the characters suffered. And say what you want, Ellen Wheeler was and still is a huge problem.

DK is such a hack. It is glaringly obvious which storylines are his and which aren't.

I heard this rumor some time ago, is he going to be the head writer? Not sure about that, but his move was blogged about after the Marco Island charity event.
This just supports the information that has been out there. GL lives on and EW is EP and JLH will be the head writer. That he is not part of the move and PGP/Tele kindly have moved DK (under contract) to their other soap to avoid waves. That JLH will be wrapping GL up on CBS and forging a plan for the new GL.
I'm not an insider but I have kept up on all the rumors out-there. I'm still saying that there will be no news about GL future offically talked about until after the May 14th emmy nominations have been announced.

Marland is spinning like a top in his grave.
If CBS wants to stop airing ATWT because they can't attract viewers, this ought to do the trick!

I have been screaming for this hack to hit the road forever! Sorry ATWT. Maybe P&G had no choice, they had to do something with him because of his contract...and maybe he will be inched out of there very quickly. Guiding Light has hope to find a new home --- Guiding Light IS ATWT hope. I can't help but think that this is a clear indication that the talks for GLs new home are going GREAT! No doubt he's gotta go. It is about damn time that JLH is handed over complete reigns of GL!

Poor ATWT! What did they do to deserve the hacks running the show?
I agree that GL was actually good when EW and DK first started but it was only for a few months until it went downhill (seems after Phillip was shot is when it started). Then DK and EW killed the show, and it wasn't until we got a new head writer that it was good again.
ATWT really should get one of the greats like Nancy Curlee, Lorraine Broderick or Millie Taggert. They spun gold on GL during their time.

There should be a "Countdown to Cancellation" clock set up for As The World Turns. I'm not even being funny at this point.

He's seriously no worse than Passanante and Goutman, but I can understand. I'm not surprised he isn't happy about Hurst "stealing the spotlight", it always seemed like he was pretty arrogant.

ATWT is over at CBS next year no matter what.
Unless you see this big ratings move upward, but even that might not keep it on CBS.
Because if GL goes to another network, so will ATWT's most likely and improved ratings will only help the cause.
The guy has a contract with PGP/Tele, this clearly seems like a way to pay him and not have to deal with moving him to the other network. I bet he won't be the head writer and if he is it will be more in name than anything. The blog I read, somebody who seemed to know this information over a week ago said he was just going there as a writer.

Does this mean if GL goes to another network that GL gets to keep JLH? Cause she's tons better than David Kreizman and P&G and TeleNext know this so why would she not be going to ATWT to?

The writing is on the wall, pardon the pun. The soap opera format is being murdered by those in charge. My question is why?

Isn't that the word around town. Isn't the rumor that PGP/Tele are shopping both GL and perhaps ATWT's to networks? That GL will be first and then the plan is to move ATWT if the shift is a success? The rumor is that ATWT is only getting a year and that's it from CBS. Unless some miracle occurs during the 12 months that increases the ratings in a drastic way.
The story was that JLH is going to be the head writer for the new GL. Of course this is all rumor, but there were folks saying that she was working on a draft for the show for an additional year and for certain storylines..
I'm just repeating the rumors around which have been posted on different blogs.
