Neighbours To Air Lesbian Storyline

The Australian soap opera Neighbours is set to air it's second lesbian storyline, just mere weeks after Home and Away began airing it's first lesbian storyline. The scenes which are due to air later this month see Donna (Margot Robbie) and new Ramsay Street resident Sunny (Hany Lee Choi) lock lips in what producers are calling an "impulsive kiss" after a love letter scandal is exposed.
This is the soap's second attempt at a lesbian storyline. It's first attempt was in 2004 between schoolgirls Lana Crawford (Bridget Neval) and Sky Mangel (Stephanie McIntosh).
This storyline is sure to cause plenty of controversy Down Under, as the soap airs in a 6:30 p.m. family friendly timeslot. It will be interesting to see what the reactions will be. Stay tuned to Daytime Confidential as this story develops.

well let's see how they'll do in comparison to the JoLie & Otalia storyline.

If memory serves me correctly Home and Away actually had a lesbian storyline over a decade BEFORE their current one, which involved the character of Shannon Reed (played by now Hollywood actress Isla Fisher) and a visiting artist to Summer Bay called Mandy. I'm sure there was even a sort of love triangle between Shannon, her boyfriend at the time and Mandy. Eventually Shannon chose to leave Summer Bay with Mandy and they moved to Paris (which must be where all soap lesbians eventually end up!).

Marchpane I believe you are correct.
I am intrigued to see where the Neighbours lesbian storyline goes (and how successful it is).

Interesting! It's the Battle of the Lesbian Love Stories! lol
Well, I'm behind on Neighbours (big surprise, lol) but the last I saw Sunny was crushing on Zeke, right? Though, I know when she saw Zeke and Donna kissing she was really upset (when she was saying all those horrible things to herself in the mirror, I felt so sorry for her!!). I just assumed she was upset because of Zeke - I guess she was really upset about Donna?? And I'm a new viewer: Have they ever hinted that Donna could be bisexual??
Anyway, I looooove Donna, so I'm down with whatever story they want to tell with her. However, I'm still rooting for a Donna/Lucas pairing (Ducas!? Lonna!? DoLu?!) lol
I'm wondering if they're going to go with this story for the longterm. Also, the timing is strange. Donna's mother just left - wouldn't it have been better if she was still around, so we can see how she reacts to her daughter being bisexual?
