A Mid-Spring Afternoon's Blind Items!

Get ready for a sizzling, hot summer of scandal, behind-the-scenes that is. It's been awhile since we've teased you with the soap-operas-behind-the-soap-operas, and since it's Friday, I thought I'd serve up a nice, helping of Blind Items to help you kick off your weekend!

*This soap executive producer is busy trying to convince a rising, young star to stay on his or her sudser, even though the person-in-question has told everyone and their Mama they're quitting. Will the show convince them to stay? If so, what will that mean for the heavily-pimped exit storyline the show already had planned?

*A network executive is reported to be in quite the bidding war with one of the executive producers of one of his or her own soaps over one of the struggling soap's biggest stars! The corporate shark wants to pluck the star for one of their network's higher profile shows, meanwhile the struggling soap is desperately trying to keep the coveted soaper.

*This popular soap star came thisclose to remaining on his or her network, when a sister soap came up with a storyline to spin the thesp over to their daytime drama. Too bad the network chief nixed the idea. Oh well, the talented entertainer has already booked a new gig.

*A wildly popular soap superstar is rumored to reprise his or her role on this soap opera this summer for a blink-and-you'll miss it guest stint. Could the return be in conjunction with a family tragedy?

*Frustrated fans wondering when they will see storyline payoff on one daytime drama shouldn't hold their breath. The storylines denoument is likely to be scrapped, because the network brass keeps rejecting every finale the soap proposes.

This blind item has Guiding Light written all over it. That is too bad. Just let them do what they are going to do and wrap the show up nicely with a big, shiny bow and fade off into the sunset. Really, you already cancelled it, let them be!

I think that 4 could be Jonathan on Guiding Light. Tom Pelphrey is supposed to be coming back.

Is another Quartermaine going to die? Or, will they kill Lucky and bring Genie Francis back for the funeral?

I agree. It does sound like GL and if it is than what's the point of interfering with the ending of a storyline if the soap is probably gone anyways? Its not like it makes much of a difference to the network anymore. All it does it anger and frustrate fans. If the writers just want to bring a story to a satisfying conclusion than the execs are just being jerks by making it difficult for them.

I kind of doubt this is GL, because I thought the network was letting the writers write, because the show is ending anyways. I could be wrong. If I'm wrong, I think it could be Otalia. Why would the network be against Jeva? I think Otalia not moving forward following the wedding seems off. It could be a creative choice though as they might not make Olivia bi, but bi-curious. Given Olivia is part of that couple makes me wonder why Olivia hasn't planted a real kiss on Natalia yet. It's bold and brash Olivia after all! She makes decisions...on impulse alot.

Since ATWT is struggling and GL is getting cancelled it could be Barbara Bloom trying to get one of the stars from those soaps on to B&B or Y&R.

I admittedly don't know much about GL since I've only started watching it more since JB came on the show. But I heard that the Otalia storyline was approved far in advance. If the network were that against a same-sex storyline getting a decent conclusion than I think its strange that they would approve it so far in advance in the first place. But its certainly possible its them since networks probably interfere more in those types of stories.

I don't think that the last item is GL because CBS likely could care less at this point. They apparently approved Otalia months ago and, since the cancellation, why would they care what GL does? I think it is one of the ABC soaps where the network is known for interfering.

What I was saying is I doubt the network would interfer (anything is possible), but I think the writers could put Otalia on ice for creative decisions and if they did, the network wouldn't do anything about it (most likely). If there were a couple on GL the network would have an opinion on, it would be Otalia however, because they do have a right to change their minds and this subject being involved in a cancelled show might not be to their liking.

I really hope it isn't Otalia I admit thats the main show I watch and because of that its the most frustrating storyline that I can think of right now. They hug, hold hands yadda yadda yadda but thats about it and with Jessica Leccia going on maternity leave I can see them getting together right when they go off the air on CBS with no real payoff mostly as a HA HA from CBS to GL fans but I hope I'm wrong.

The more I think about it the more it seems stupid that the TPTB would be that concerned with interfering with any couple or story on GL at this point. But at the same time the blind item sounds so much like GL that its hard to dismiss the possibility. It really angers me if its true. I hate it when execs pointlessly interfer with stories. It doesn't usually result in good things.

I think the frustrated fans one is OLTL's story about rex's father, since they lost roscoe born. But what do I know. I agree with previous guesses about one being CS and the one that is thisclose being ric hearst.

I dont think that the network exec one is frons/abc, but I think the blink and you miss it return could be Kelly Ripa coming back for Adam's funeral.

That's a very good guess. I hope your right. It would be strange if Haley did not show up for that.

Hmmm family tragedy what Quartermaines are left? I don't think any of them that are gone are considered superstars although I love me some Ned Ashton and would GH have the guts to kill off Lucky? Ugh yes they would I don't even want to think about it. Kelly Ripa is a good guess I can't really think of anyone else right now.

Number one is Chrishell Stause. I really, *really* hope Brian Frons does something eight for once and convinces Chrishell to say.
And if number five isn't Guiding Light, it's probably One Life To Live and possibly the baby switch storyline?

OLTL baby switch story really only ends one of a few ways, Starr and/or Cole keeps the baby, one of the parents keep the baby, Jess and/or Nat keep the baby or Marcie takes the baby out of town. If its one life, I cant see that being the story line that is getting vetoed because of the limited options.

More clues on these PLEASE :Innocent

I don't see why Frons would have an issue with the baby story going a certain way, that is not what the writers want. It just doesn't make sense.

My lack of soap knowledge these days leaves me clueless about most soaps.

**** I think this SCREAMS CS AMANDA on AMC. The show realizes she is very Popular with fans and now that they finally vested in a front burnner storyline for her-- I'm sure they wanna keep her. I hope they do!

*This popular soap star came thisclose to remaining on his or her network, when a sister soap came up with a storyline to spin the thesp over to their daytime drama. Too bad the network chief nixed the idea. Oh well, the talented entertainer has already booked a new gig.
*** I think this is Rick H. I have a feeling AMC was considering taking Ric to Pine Vally as the DA (that they are currently casting). I could see Pratt wanting to get Rick over to AMC considering he wrote for him while on GH. But I think FRONS veto'ed the idea!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it would have been a nice tribute to the Ric/Skye friendship to have Ric out to solve who killed Skye's father or uncle whomever is murdered next week

*A wildly popular soap superstar is rumored to reprise his or her role on this soap opera this summer for a blink-and-you'll miss it guest stint. Could the return be in conjunction with a family tragedy?
**** SUPERSTAR???? COuld that be Kelly Ripa coming in for Adams funeral?? WOuld be nice-- but I doubt all these blind items are about ABC soaps. Smile
~ I'm wondering if/when Stuart or Adam is killed if Hayley, Skye, Brooke, Ross and Gloria would be coming in for the funeral?????????????

*Frustrated fans wondering when they will see storyline payoff on one daytime drama shouldn't hold their breath. The storylines denoument is likely to be scrapped, because the network brass keeps rejecting every finale the soap proposes.
**** I think this has to do with the who's Rex's father on OLTL.

Now that I think about it EricasEvilTwin, you're right the baby switch storyline doesn't make any sense, maybe it's Rex's daddy storyline.
