I'm really happy that Van got nominated again. I'm also really happy about Maura West and Julie Pinson.

I was surprised about the drama series nominees though. I only watch ATWT, so I can't really say if a show deserves it or not, but I only hear good things from The Young and the Restless. I expected them to be nominated.

B & B as best drama? Seriously? Who's palm did Brad Bell have to grease to get that nom? I am very pleased to see Van, Maura, Julie, Susan Haskell, and Bradford A. on the list. Peter Reckell? God bless him, but no.

AMC and B&B for best drama? Seriously? What a disaster.

What time period does this cover? Surely before Crystal Chappell's graveyard confession.

I've watched AMC since 1979 and stopped watching a few months ago because it has become a joke; with characters acting out of character to the point where they aren't recognizable anymore. I can't believe how awful the other soaps have to be for AMC to get a nomination for outstanding drama series!

I'm happiest for Bree Williamson. She did some amazing work this year, despite the admittedly over-the-top multiple-personality baby-switch storyline. I hope she goes all the way.

I have plenty to say, but I'll only say this. (I'm a Y&R Snob)
I'm actually glad the Best Show (Y/R)isn't mentioned along with the ridiculous All My Children. I actually thought this was a joke?? I'm suprised the baffoonish GH didn't get the Best Drama Nod as well.

I'm sorry I won't be tuning in to watch Jeanne Cooper and Christian LeBlanc get their awards.

I'm udderly dumbfounded. DAYS is ridiculous and fires their vets. Now they get rewarded? In a shrinking genre that has one show CONSTANTLY atop the ratings, it doesn't get the Top Nod?? WHA!???

I'm utterly disgusted.

I'm sure Cameron Matheson's eyeballs exploded even more this morning.

Seriously? Minshew? I don't think it was her best year but after rooting for her for roughly six years, I'll take it.

Those nominations are hilarious, and proved without a doubt, that it is crapola.

Not having Y&R as best drama is the proof in the pudding! I am not even will watch or read about it! Seriously!

These noms are an utter farce. Perfectly illustrated by the nominees for outstanding drama. I am laughing at those... the three most universally panned shows for the past year get the nods and Y&R and One Life get ignored. WOW!

I won't be watching but will root for Jeanne and Christian. But I am happy for Daniel Cosgrove and Bradford Anderson as well. And Tony Geary again? Whatever...

I cringed when I saw Tony Geary on the list yet again.. here we go again. And AMC?? Just goes to show what a joke it is that you can win an Emmy based on 2 episodes and the rest of the year could be crap material. As for TG, half the year he's gone and he hasn't been producing Emmy-worthy material in years... his passion for acting has diminished and it shows up on screen.

About time Peter Reckell has been nominated...long overdue. He should have been nominate early in his career (Roman's death in BO's arms). He should have been nominated with the revelation of Victor as his father....with Hope's first death.

And BOTH Peter and Kristian should have been nominated for so many scenes in Zach's death.

Sadly, actors have been unfairly punished because of the system, the bad reputations of their inconsistent writers. I so happy for Peter Reckell.

Yea GL was snubbed probably due to the production model and the fact that most voters dont really watch the tapes. What I want to know is that sense I dont watch B&B what did they do last year and Days also? I watch Days but It tends to all run together, if anything they should of been nominated for that plane crash they had but I dont think that was last year.

I'm so happy for Daniel Cosgrove!!!

Good for Jeff Branson, he is a great actor.

Marcy Rylan did get robbed but then again she is always snubbed so I wasn't surprised.

Gina Tognoni was majorly robbed.

I said nothing could shock me. I was wrong. DAYS, B&B, and AMC nominated for Best Daytime Drama. Un-Be-Lievable. We are all wasting our time.

Eh. I can see why AMC and B&B were nominated for best show. AMC had the Jesse&Angie wedding with everything else surrounding it. B&B had the story about Storm killing himself so his sister could have his heart. I thought that was one of the most dramatic and emotional stories of the year.

I'm happy for Daniel Cosgrove and Jeff Branson. I was expecting a total shut out. GL was god awful last year. The writing, production, everything was bad.

B&B and AMC best Drama? Seriously? How much money did they pay to get nominated?

Adrienne Frantz and Michael Graziadei were robbed!!!

Happy for Jeanne Cooper, Bradford Anderson and Bree Williamson. The rest is just a bad joke to me.

These are the weirdest nominees I have seen in a longggggg time! Where to start?
Amc, Days AND B&B for best show?? WTF? I could understand OLTL for last year (not this year!) and Y&R, but these three???? Again, WTF????
Peter Reckell? (I could see Kristen Alfonso before him!) Alicia Minshew? Thorsten Kaye? Tony Greary?
Where are Crystal Chappell, Gina Tognoni, Marcy Rylan?
Congrats to Daniel, Jeff, Jeanne and Christian.

BTW, how did Vincent Irizzary make the list? Didn't he return to the show at the beginning of the year?

This is an unbelievable JOKE! Are we in the Twilight Zone? How the F!!? did B&B, AMC and DOOL become only 3 nomin ated shows. Did OLTL and Y&R cancel themselves out because of their genius quality compared. Did the voters think it was unfair to jude 2 amazing shows with the rest of the crap on air??? F-ING BS! I AM NOT WATCHING THOS YEAR'S TELECAST. THESE AWARDS ARE ENTIRELY MEANINGLESS AND OBVIOUSLY CORDAY, FRONS AND B. BELL HAVE PAID THE JUDGES OFF TO GET THEIR DISGUSTINGLY POOR QUALITY, HORRIBLY WRITTEN SHOWS THE ONLY SHOWS NOMINATED. SINCE WHEN DO THEY ONLY NOM 3 SHOWS INSTEAD OF 5. WTF IS GOING ON IN SOAP LAND. I AM NOW FULLY CONVINCED THAT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY IS WORKING TOGETHER TO DESTROY THE GENRE, RETIRE AND ALL OF THE EXECS CAN MOVE TO PALM SPRINGS, CA., FLORIDA OR WHEREVER THEY WANT TO LIVE OU THE REST OF THEIR LIVES OFF OF THE CASH THEY BANKROLLED FROM THESE SHOWS YEARS AGO. THIS IS THE END OF DAYTIME. I PREDICT THAT ALL SHOWS WILL BE GONE IN LESS THEN 5 YEARS. HOW THE HELL WERE Y&R AND OLTL IGNORED IN BEST DRAMA SHOW? I AM SCHVITZING, HOLDING IN SCREAMS IN MY OFFICE AND ME AND MY ASSISTANT, ANOTHER BIG SOAP FAN, ARE SITTING HERE IN SHOCK AND AWE AT THE AUDACITY OF THE DAYTIME ACADEMY'S IGNORANCE, STUPIDITY AND FAILURE TO RECOGNIZE THE GOOD FROM THE BAD FROM THE JUST PLAIN UGLY (DOOL I AM STARING RIGHT AT YOU AS WELL AS AMC AND B&B WHO HAD THEIR WORST YEARS CREATIVELY IN A LONG, LONG TIME. I AM THOROUGHLY SHOCKED AND LIKE I MENTIONED, BOYCOTTING THE AWARDS AND I DEMAND AN ANSWER TO HOW THE F THIS MESS HAPPENED. EVEN GL DESERVED A NOM OVER THE CRAPTOCITY THAT IS DOOL THIS PAST YEAR. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME UNDERSTAND BEFORE I HAVE A NERVOUS BREAKDOPWN. I AM AN ASSOCIATE EDITOR AT A PRETTY LARGE PUBLICATION COMPANY WHOSE JOB IT IS TO READ MANUSCRIPTS BY VERY WELL-KNOWN TO TOTALLY UNKNOWN WRITERS AND HAND THEM OFF TO MY BOSS FOR A PUBLISHING GREENLIGHT. I KNOW GOOD WRITING EVEN IF NOVEL FICTION/NON-FICTION WRITING IS A DIFFERENT GENRE THEN SOAP OPERAS BUT ULTIMATELY THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME IDEA OF INHABITING A WORLD, DIVING DEEP IN TO CHARACTER MOTIVATION, PSYCHOLOGY AND TELLING MULTI-LAYERED, TEXTURED STORIES WITHIN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE THE AUTHOR HAS CREATED. I THINK OF SOAP OPERAS AS GOOD CHARLES DICKENS NOVELS THAT ORIGINALLY APPEARED AS SERIALIZED PORTIONS IN THE MAGAZINES AND PAPERS OFN THE TIMES. TO ME, HE WAS THE FOREFOUNDER OF THE CONTINUING STORY AS WE KNOW IT TODAY. I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT I AM SURE MANY OF YOU ARE FEELING AS FLABBERGASTED, GASLIGHTED (ADAM?), AND ANGRILY INCENSED AS I AM BUT WHEN I THINK ABOUT THE ENTIRE NOMINATING PROCESS THAT THE DAYTIME EMMYS ARE FORCED TO RECKON WITH INSTEAD OF A NORMAL VOTING BODY WOULD. EACH CATEGORY HAS GLARING OMISSIONS AS WELL AS GLARING MISTAKES A LA TONY GEARY FOR HIS 4 DAYS ON AIR, ALICIA MINSHEW FOR SPENDING 6 MONTHS IN A COMA AND NOT HAVING TO ACT MUST HAVE HELPED HER ENORMOUSLY. BREE WILLIAMSON FOR HER CAMPY, CARTOONISH CREATION OF A DID-SUFFERER. IN MY OPINION, THERE ARE ONLY 3 CORRECT NOMS, JEANNE COOPER, SUSAN HASKELL AND CHRISTIAN LEBLANC. THE REST ARE ALL DEBATABLE TO NOT EVEN DESERVING OF BEING IN THEIR CATEGORY. I CANNOT GO ON ANY LONGER. I HAVE REAL WRITING TO READ, EDIT AND HAVE A BUSINESS LUNCH WITH AN AUTHOR WHO JUST PUBLISHED A WELL-RECEIVED BOOK ABOUT HIS YOUTH GROWING UP IN THE HAMPTONS FEELING LIKE AN OUTSIDER. HE IS ALSO A MAJOR SOAP FAN AND I AM IMPATIENTLY WAITIN TILL 1:30PM TO MEET HIM AT THE RESTAURANT AND HEAR HIS REACTIONS TO THIS ENTIRE NIGHTMARE OF DENIAL AND SELF-SABATOGE.
