Last night's episode of Gossip Girl was a little bit odd for me. Last week I mentioned how disappointed I was with the Gossip Girl episode. This week things improved a bit. Nate (Chase Crawford) has always been one of my least favorite characters, but Jenny (Taylor Momsen) made him watchable when they were a couple.
Last night, for the first time, I actually liked the Nate storyline. I liked his interaction with even the terrible character of Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). Most of all I liked him with Blair (Leighton Meester), which shocked to me. I was talking to our own Regan about last night's episode and surprisingly we were both annoyed with Chuck (Ed Westwick). I haven't always liked Chuck, but over time - thanks to his relationship with Blair - he's grown to be one of my favorite characters. Last night though, the spoiled rich boy pity party got old. Chuck needs to find his balls or go searching for them in Peapack New Jersey.
What did you think of last night's episode?

Are you saying Kim Zimmer has his balls? Or are you inferring that his balls are sweaty? Either way, on behalf of Mr. Bass, I find those comments outlandish and inappropriate. His balls are as dry as a Briton's sense of humor. Anyway, I liked the episode. I would love a GG spinoff about Nate's Kennedy-esque family, that's the kind of show I would watch!

Chuck is becoming pathetic.

Well, how is he supposed to behave, dressed up like the illegitimate child of Pat from Saturday Night Live and Pee Wee Herman?

No, but losing the hooker - love of his life - and then immediately going back to trying to win Blair makes Blair look like sloppy seconds at worst and second best at best. Yes, I understand that he's a playboy, but they need to give him some direction. The previews for next week have him and Vanessa together. Blair didn't give up on Chuck until she had exhausted all options. Chuck gives up on Blair on an episodic basis and at whim. I don't blame Blair for turning her back on Chuck after all of her attempts, but it's time for Chuck to step up and pursue her the way she did him.

Now that he's lost her, he will pursue her. That's how it always works. Besides, I am perfectly okay with a Nate/Blair revisit as it is rooted in the history of the franchise. They have to have conflict and drama, if Blair and Chuck were happy together it would be boring.

I'm not wanting them to be happy, blair and chuck are best at conflict...I just want Chuck as a character to find some direction...it seems like they have no clue what to do with him.

For the first time, I rolled my eyes during the Chuck scenes. I don't like seeing him run around town like some lame punk. That's Dan's job.LOL!! Why would he need Serena's help to run a guy out of town? This is Chuck Bass. Seriosuly??!! Ugh!!
My Vanessa hate runs deep. CAN'T.STAND.HER.
Before this episode I was against a Nate/Blair redux but now I say, bring it on. LOL!!!

I liked Nate and Blair last night and I agree with Luke, Chuck can't find true love with a hooker one week and then shuffle back to Blair with his tail between his legs the next. I really hate Vanessa and have never understood her place. She should have been a two episode arc last season and that's it.

I just want Nate and Jenny. He was great with her. I just hate Vanessa. She does not fit.

Ok, so last night was much better than the last three episodes.
Dan was funny.
Serena was a good friend to Blair.
Chuck finally decided to try again with Blair.
Blair's breakdown was great. I think it makes sense for her character and she had some great lines.
Nate's family storyline with the Vanderbilts was interesting. I thought there should have been more class conflict though considering his girlfriend is Vanessa, a girl from Brooklyn and not someone from a prominent family.
I like Nate and Blair as friends but not as anything more.
Nate should be with either Serena or Jenny since Chace has the most chemistry with Blake and Taylor.

ITA, Courtney fan4life. I want NJ back together too.
And what was wrong with Jenny anyway? Nate and Vanessa belong together??? But I'm saying to myself that this is just lovely Jenny talking and not what she really thinks!!!

Nate is way too boring. His interaction with Blair did make him interesting.
I was SO happy he chose being an intern over hanging with Vanessa. Vanessa want to go on a Europe trip with him but how did Vanessa expect to pay for this trip...with Nate's money yet she's upset Nate has to actually work for his money.
Also why does judgemental Dan continue to hang around rich people if he hates them so much.
Serena needs a life, Jenny needs a storyline and Rufus and Lily needs something to do.
Chuck going back to Blair after the hooker dissed him did make it seems like Blair was his second choice. Why is it that Blair can make a character interesting.

I think the Blair/Chuck angst makes for good storytelling.
When Blair began her pity party last week I wanted to slap her across the face and yell, "Snap out of it woman! You are Blair f***ing Wladorf!" I love that LM really displays Blair's complexity.
I get what y'all are saying about Blair looking like sloppy seconds, but I also think the hooker's last statement served as a good wake up call for Chuck. Now, if we could only get him to put forth an effort...

I really *really* liked it this week. I'm not a fan of the Nate/Blair hookup, but I like where there going with it. Nat and Blair likely aren't going to be a real couple, but sometimes you need to go back to what's familar.
The rest of it was just awesome. I loved Blair acting out, I loved Serena, I loved Dan, I loved Chuck, I loved Rufus/Lily, I even liked Vanessa.
