Did Y&R's Nia Peeples Put Eva Marcille and The Soap's Executive Producer on BLAST?!

We just found out that The Young and the Restless actress Nia Peeples apparently put a few peeps at the CBS soap on blast during her interview with Brandon's Buzz.

Now we haven't heard the interview ourselves yet—can't wait to get home and listen!—but according to a summary at Soap Opera Network, Peeples allegedly (Y'all know I'm a journalist so I have to say allegedly until I hear it for myself, no disrespect!) talked about how Y&R executive producer Maria Arena Bell allegedly tried to fire her when she took over the show and that the brass lied to her saying she would remain on recurring and her character Karen in Genoa City, then when Peeples, who was hired by Lynn Marie Latham, showed up to tape her last show the script read that Karen was moving to New York. According to Peeples, they were probably afraid she wouldn't show up to tape her last show!

The actress apparently bought herself some time by informing her agent that because she had just started a new 26-week cycle they couldn't fire her. Now, I'm just a simple country boy from Texas, but shouldn't her agent have been the one to tell her that?

Other juicy tidbits from the interview include Peeples talking about how she had the impression Kristoff St. John (Neil), as well as others in the cast and crew were glad she was there, as opposed to Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla). Now didn't St. John gush in Soaps in Depth (Or was it Digest?) about how Rowell was basically the only good leading lady he'd ever worked with?

The former Walker Texas Ranger star and The Party Machine groove-thang-shaker also revealed how it allegedly used to take three or four takes for Eva Marcille (Tyra) to get a scene right. According to Peeples, this was because Marcille wasn't "listening" to Peeples, who really gets 'in to her scenes". :O. Okay Nia, boo, I ain't trying to be funny, but from what I'm seeing on my TV,  ain't neither one of 'yall in any danger of being nominated for a Golden Globe anytime soon, so you could have kept that one to yourself!

Peeples didn't commit complete soap opera suicide during the interview, however, she reportedly had positive things to say about the legendary Paul Rauch, co-executive producer of Y&R, revealing how he told her she is the 'most professional actor on the set' and "elevates everyone elses work!" I don't know about y'all but I can't wait to get home today to hear this hot mess!  Thanks Syreeta for the tip!

Oh my goodness - I'll have to give it a listen  It's kind of funny (in an unprofessional way!) that she slated Miss Eva. Good Ol' One-Take Peeples

Hell if I had known Nia liked to run her mouth I would have invited her on DC! I am going to employ a new strategy, only invite on actors in really bad storylines, they're the ones who will TALK! Katherine Kelly Lang and Susan Flannery will get a call this afternoon!

I think the summary on SOC makes it a little juiceir than it was....her statement about the firing was more like.."what did ya think I wouldn't show up". She is a flippant interview, but I think this may hurt her a little, hope not though...becuase I have loved her since she ran up those steps at GH never to come down again, after pledging her allegience to Luke Spencer.

Nia Peeples can act. Her character is boring, and they've given her nothing to do other than prop Neil and she's basically a plot device.

Nia's an okay actress, but not some great "student of the process". She could do a good round house on Walker Texas Ranger, but she isn't Erika Slezak and should calm down on the acting critiques in my opinion.

First Nia did not name anybody, Jamey did.

We can conclude from it, and frankly we are not that stupid, we all know Tyra cannot act!

We did not need Nia to state the obvious.

I think that Nia is a great actress and we already knew from VR that she did not get along with a lot of people on the Y&R set. Nothing new under the sun!

It was a great interview but Jamey the way you introduce this piece, If I was Nia, I would NOT want to come here and talk, may be I just misunderstood but it seems negative!

Okay, I am so tired of people shooting the messengers! This woman went on a podcast and revealed that the woman who signed her check didn't want to keep her, then she alluded that they tried to get shady with her about her contract! How I am negative for reporting on a story that she did herself. Did Brandon tie her down and shove a microphone in her face and tell her she better reveal trade secrets or else? Don't blame me! LOL

Interview aside, the character of Tyra is irrelevant in GC. Whether they meant to do it or not she comes off as a Dru wannabe, and just reminds me the Divine Miss Rowell is no longer on the canvas. As far as Nia is concerned I think she acts well enough, but I challenge anybody to make the words in this boring storyline sound interesting. Y&R is on fire right now,and I just can't for the life of me figure out why they dont hire a black female writer and complete the circle. As I can see it right now besides the character of Eden the shows only problem right now is the inability to write for their AA actors. Cant fault Kristoff for talking out both sides of his mouth....he knows which side his bread is buttered on, but he also knows that when Victoria left so did his last good chance as a romantic lead on that show. I'm sure he's also quite aware that the black community will NEVER turn their back on Victoria Rowell. I'd have done the exact same thing. Its no secret the cast didn't like VR(Peter Bergman, and Michelle Stafford especially). That little tidbit of info should not make Nia feel special though.

Jamey, I was being sarcastic with my post...but I get your point. I will say though I have listened to that interview twice, and there were a couple of things, that I think the poster at SOC took differently then I did,but if I am being honest, the overall implication of the interview is still the same. It is still subjective of course.

Gee, I realized that. Might be why there was an LOL at the end of the statement.....it was sarcasm!

Nia didn't drop names exactly...that's a powerful woman. She ain't scarred of nobody, and apparently she doubles as PR's assistant producer on the set.

I would give anything to watch KSJ, Bryton, and EM's stank faces when she walks on set the day after this interview.

Nia Peeples needs to be fired. She was talking like she was the best thing since sliced bread. No one beats Victoria Rowell. Nia and her co-star Eva can take a hike out of GC. Bitch pleaseeeeeeeeee!!!! Anyways I have long since proposed 4 actresses who could come to the show and BRING IT from day one. Check them out here on the cbspage. Scroll down to the posting of New Love Interest For Neil Winters...And tell me f you don't agree!!! http://soapscenestoremember.webs.com/cbspage

Well, she already has been. Her option won't be picked up when her cycle ends, surprise, surprise. Y&R did plan on writing the character off when they sent her to New York, but they realized they would have to pay her out for the next 26 weeks, so they decided to use her as opposed to letting her get paid not to work.

I just wish they would get rid of Eva and that little girl too. I'd rather Neil fall for Liv than to see this mess play out!

Jamey, I'm pretty sure you're aware of the fact that SON did not published that summary. However, a MEMBER of the SON Community did. I'm not making a big deal out of this; I'm just saying.

As for Nia, she's got a lot of balls(if what's said in the summary is correct). I know I wouldn't want MAB to roast my ass.

Sure Eva is not the best actress out there but I don't mind her. I've always wanted diversity so if a ''hair model'' is someone with color, it's still a step up. As someone of color, I enjoy seeing a show with all types of people.

Not for me. Not on this show. I am sorry, but Eva having brown skin is not enough. I need an actress who can drive story. Eva breaks moments in almost every scene she is in. She comes off as confused and unsure, like those little girls on Guidng Light. She needs to spend more time with an acting coach than on the red carpet.

Sorry that Nia shot herself in the foot. I like Karen and wanted to see her grow a backbone and put Tyra in her place.

I am really sorry, but I think that we could stand to lose this s/l. EM is a reality TV person, that should say something about her acting ability. The kid, what's her name?, well Anna sorry sweetheart, but you need to finish school because you cannot act either. They need to write an exit story for this tiresome twosome, and teycan take Devon with them. I haven't seen him in ages, and seriously, I don't miss him.

I want to see Neil with a woman sho can help him stand up to TGVN, before he pushes Neil further down the Corporate totem pole.

Oh, please! Nia Peeples needs to break out! She's not exactly the most talented or even talentlessly entertaining actress on Y&R! She shouldn't talk smack!

I agree quality is better then quantity. If Y&R either used the talent it has i.e. Bryton, Tatiana Ali, & Tonya Lee Williams we might get somewhere.

I have long since proposed a love paring between Rafe and Olivia, that would result in deep dark past being revealed that would trust Neil and Olivia and Rafe into a love triangle. Neil's need to protect Olivia would bind them together.

On the other hand Roxie and Devon's relationship could move full speed ahead, until Jill paid her to seduce Billy so that Chloe would move back into the Chancellor estate. This would be a spring board to re-integrating the cast.

And finally I would bring Mamie, back with a secret amount of stock in Jabot that was left to her by John. It would be a secret no one knew but her and she would use her new found power to regain control of Jabot and put everybody in their place. She would take control of the company because:
1. Jack is untrustworthy and out for revenge.
2. Ashley is blinded by Victor's "cock-a-doodle-do".
3. Billy is about as responsible as a 5 year old.

Gloria would plot to become her best friend so that she could purchase the stock and Victor would actually try and use Mamie to get back at Jack. Only to team up with Gloria to try and help her get the Jabot Stock.

Neil would eventually catch wind of Victor's plan quit Jabot after a heated argument. Mamie would install Neil as the head of Jabot which would Irk Jack.

See they need to hire me!!!

It would have been interesting to see Karen turn into a villianess or something.. so will she also get dropped off a cliff or will they just write her as moving out of town? If she leaves does that mean Eva stays?

Eva was put on contract. For what reason I do not know why. But it seems that Y&R is going to press forward with this "Hair Model" no matter how much we protest. Paul R. The Executive Producer has never been a fan of African American characters on soaps. Wherever he seems to land the The color soon disappears.
