Jessica Capshaw Signs Grey's Contract

According to Entertainment Weekly, it looks like Callie (Sara Ramirez) may be hooking up with another broad - Arizona Robbins. Her portrayer Jessica Capshaw (ex-The Practice) has inked a contract to keep her onboard for the rest of the current season, with an option of being picked up as series regular for season six.

Following the firing of Brooke Smith (Erica Hahn), there were rumblings that ABC was uncomfortable with a same-sex relationship on Grey's Anatomy. Speaking about Smith's exit on a press tour last month, network president Steve McPherson had this to say:
The character was not working for us and the relationship was not working for us.
I'm hoping Callie's latest potential love-interest sticks around for the long-haul. Sure beats watching Dead Denny.

"The character was not working for us and the relationship was not working for us."
Translation: Jessica and Sara makes a prettier picture!

Callie does not work as a gay woman. I don't buy it. I think she should get little Grey (ugh) away from McSteamy. I would like one couple on this show to be equals, and not teacher/student.
If they wanted a gay character, they should have made George gay. After that mess with Meredith and Callie and meeting his family, I could see him hiding it or ignoring it for years.

I don't believe Callie as a lesbian either. Partly because I loved her and George and those two being broken up the way it happened was one of the first signs that Grey's was in creative trouble.

I haven't watched Grey's much this season, but I too did not like CAllie and Erica Hahn. I didn't like Hahn, it had nothing to do with the relationship, but I really thought it was only experimentation on Callie's part.
I also agree that if any character on the show should be gay, it should be George. It would explain a lot about his being timid and have trouble relating to women, it would also explain why he had trouble being assertive with his family. There is a goldmine with George, why get Callie involved in another lesbian relationship??

Luke, I also liked Callie and Goerge....
back to the topic, didn't they learn thier lesson when they did Erica and Callie? I also don't by Callie as a lesbo.

I thought I was the only one who didn't buy Callie as a lesbian. I just want her back with Sloan but I've given up on that
