With Josie leaving and Lucy returning I thought I'd take a moment to find out if As The World Turns' fans have nuJade (Davida Williams). Are you enjoying the character? Are you hating the character? Do you even care?

I am entertained by Jade. It's nice to have a teenage vixen on the show. I also like that she adds some MUCH NEEDED COLOR on the show.
She's no angel, but good girls are boring.
What I don't like is TPTB not giving the character layers. I also find it hard to believe that Jade can't get a man but whiny Alison's milkshake brings the boys to the yard. I have a feeling TPTB are going to write her exactly as they did a few years ago but instead of playing the spoiler for Will/Gwen, it'll be Casey/Alison.
You know how TPTB like to re-hash old plots.

Here is the irony about Jade:
As a character, she is one of the few recasts/returns that the show has written consistently upon return to the show. The character is just as needy, big mouthed, and troublemaking with a huge chip on her shoulder. Davida Williams is doing a very good job of capturing a lot of the same essence of the role that Elena Goode did.
On the other hand, a recast wasn't necessary unless Goode wasn't available or willing to return. If one didn't like Goode, there is likely no chance in hell one would like Williams' interpretation. Finally Jade wasn't the most popular character among fans the first time around, so there's that.
As someone who always liked Jade and Goode in the role, I'm pretty pleased with Williams' take.

I'm liking her portrayal of Jade...aside from Craig, she is doing the best job...I don't know if it's a good idea to have her go up against Emily though....KMH might be too much for her so soon.....lol....

I like Jade. I think that Davida is doing quite well. Elena was good, but I think that the show wanted to de-age her a little, which is why they went with Williams...
