Ms. Walters was simply out to lunch. Bonnie Hunt was very very clearly joking that she had never seen "The View," but Barbara Walters responds, not with humor, but with a borderline cruel comment that she had never seen Bonnie Hunt's struggling show. Bonnie was being harmlessly funny, and Barbara was simply rude in return. Barbara tries so hard to seem like a "regular woman," resenting any hint from someone else that she lives a glamourous lifestyle, but then feels necessary to regale us repeatedly with stories of honors she has received and dinners she has attended and royalty that has sent her holiday cards. She can't have it both ways. YOU GO BONNIE! LOVE YOUR SHOW!

I think both of them were kidding around and you're making something out of nothing. I love both shows! I've been waiting for Bonnie to get her own talk show since she used to regularly appear on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder. Bonnie has a two-year deal with her show, and I hope she builds a strong audience before that deal runs out.
The one thing I noticed in this segment is that the audience didn't "get" Bonnie's joke when she said she was "on Letterman" last night...and then she did his show! (Ba-dum-bum!) It went right over the audience's heads!

i have had it with the View and I don't even watch it anymore except for clips on this site. Even Joy seemed to be on the attack to me. Whoppi was excellent as always, wonder why she hasn't hightailed it out of there yet?
I love Bonnie and she and Barbra *do* lead totally different types of lives everyone knows that, why hide the truth?
