George and Juliana to the ER STAT!!!!!!

and TV Guide are reporting the return of A-list superstar George Clooney to ER. Also to accompany him will be Doug Ross' longtime sweetheart, Carol Hathaway once again played by Julianna Margulies. Clooney made his last apperance on the show in 2000 in Margulies' final episode.
This contines the long running medical drama's march to the end of it's final season. Earlier this season we saw the flashback return of Anthony Edwards as the deceased Dr. Mark Greene. Other returns have included Laura Innes (Dr. Kerry Weaver), Paul McCrane (Dr. Robert "Rocket" Romano), Abraham Benrubi (Jerry Markovic). Also in the coming weeks there will be other returns including but not limited to; Alex Kingston (Dr. Elizabeth Corday) and Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter)
The only problem that I have seen with these returning actors is that they are showing us what the show was and that the writing just isn't quite what it used to be. What do you think?

Ok, I gotta ask. Am I the only one that wasn't a big fan of these two characters (especially Nurse Hathaway)? To be fair, I was never a hardcore ER fan. I did watch the show regularly for the first few years, but I was more of a Chicago Hope gal.
I regret not watching this season though...I would have loved to have seen all of those returns. I *adored* Anthony Edwards - I remember sobbing when Mark died

Well if you want to see Dr Greene you can. I believe that NBC.com still has the episode up streaming. It really is a good story. Just after Mark's cancer comes back and he is working through it, also it is before he and Corday get back together. As far as Doug and Carol.... well I always liked the back and forth that they had. Tho i will say that the show hasn't had a one two punch like Clooney and Edwards since those 2 were great together.

Well, the show couldn't end properly without its biggest stars returning. That was my main gripe with the Passions finale.

I love ER! I am sad to see it go! I love Doug/Hathoway.. I still think they could have said "Mark Green faked his death, and found some kind of treatment that was new a still in expirmental stages and went to get, then after it worked he went to Elizabeth in England/where ever she was...
I am loving the returns.. I have to say once Doug/Hathoway/Green/Corday/Kerry/Robert/a couple others left the shower keep on going down and down as each of the characters left.. I have seen every season! I will miss ER!!

ER is still appointment TV for me. I've watched from the beginning. Jamey, I loved Sisters, too and was VERY upset when GC left for ER, but I came to forgive him. As long as he was still on my screen every week, it was all good. SO glad he and JM will be back before the finale.
FYI: Alex Kingston returned last week as Dr. Corday interviewed Neela for a job at Duke. It was nice to hear her talk about her daughter.

Yep but I hate groundhog day episodes lol.
I am so happy they are coming back, the show deserves a proper send off and it is getting one.

George and Juliana were the reason I watched ER in the first place - when they left, so did I.
I have heard that they are already taping their scenes, but I am not sure if that is true or not. In any event, good for NBC for getting them back and giving the show a proper ending by bringing back as many fan favorites as possible.

I hope this all comes true, Doug and Carol where one of my favorites. I don't know what to do with myself thursday at 10pm when ER ends. I've watched this show since the begining. My mother would never miss an episode when she was alive.
I can't wait for Carter and Benton to come back. The only characters I loathed on this show was Weaver, Abby and Sam.

Daisy too funny - as you know I loved Doug and carol but I was liked her more than him. First Billy W and now this -- keep this up and I might lose my "BOT" status LOL
Love this show! Love the send off and so far the greene epi was the best. I liked how we were flashing back in time and suddenly there was Carrie and then oops theres Romano. Such a smart way to let us see them one more time in their glory without undoing all thats happened since. *************************************************

Now EET, you know that I'M the Bot!! And sometimes a Bot has to rebel, lol. I do agree with Sean that Clooney and Edwards worked really well together. But there was something about Hathaway that I just didn't like...it's hard to remember what after all these years though, lol
