Nip/Tuck isn't the only FX show returning this week. Tonight Damages, one of our Tina's favorite shows, returns for a 2nd season. I started watching the show last season because I loved Glenn Close on The Shield and the show had amazing performances, but I just got dizzy with all the complicated plot lines. I'm not sure I could tune in for the new season and have a clue of what is going on.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think DC posted something about my beloved Billy Warlock being on an ep of Damages this season - so I know I'll be watching at least one episode

I didn't find the first season all that complicated -- but it is definitely layered and commands your attention, which makes for good drama!

I work for Sony and never paid attention when we began production on this show. The title was weird, but when I heard Timothy Olyphant was joining this year, I had to check out the first season. I read the reviews for the DVD on Amazon and decided to take a chance. I was hooked after the first episode. In fact, I missed New Year's Eve because I got caught up in all of it.
I loved absolutely every actor and every scheming character. The exchange between Patty Hewes and the attorney in the first episode on the steps of the courthouse really let you know how ruthless she is. I absolutely adore it.
The time shifting is not so bad when watching the DVDs, at least I didn't have any problems with it. Although going from DVDs to being at the mercy of TV is going to be a struggle, but I am up for it!!!

It would have been great if GH wrote Alexis as a Patty Hewes type character. Nancy would play the hell out of it!

I agree with you season1217. Alexis and/or Diane would be great like Patty.
I think soaps are missing some great characters like we used to have in the old night-time soaps (JR Ewing, Sue Ellen; Crystal/Alexis). A lot of these actors have the chops for meatier stuff, but the writers do not do them justice.
