Is GL's John Driscoll headed for Pine Valley?

Is John Driscoll headed to All My Children? That's what sources are telling us. Friday we broke news that four actors will exit Guiding Light in early 2009, with Driscoll allegedly already out. Now we're hearing the actor is headed to an ABC soap, most likely AMC, where he would re-create the role of Sean, the nephew of Jack Montgomery (Walt Wiley) and be paired opposite the character of Natalia. If Driscoll defects to AMC, he will make the third GL actor is less than a year to make the jump to the soap. It looks like the CBS/ABC casting war is far from over.

Good i hope he gets work after GL. My first pick would not have been AMC but its good enough. I would have loved to see a John Driscoll and Crystal Hunt reunion on OLTL

lol....Driscoll as Joey Buchanan might be interesting, though he might play a little young for Joey.

I never really cared about Coope at all! So, as far as I'am concerned bye! But, as for the rest of the new comers Daisy,Rafe, Grady thats to bad! I guess getting Phillip to come back means someone HAS to go! I'll miss Ashlee! The rest I never go "into them" Cool

Oh, I don't think that's true. Nathan Fillion connected w/ fans in the role of Joey. The right actor can work wonders. Look at what Billy Miller is doing in the role of Billy on Y&R and Jeff Branson in the role of Shayne on, please, God, don't let this show be cancelled, not now, when it's looking like it may actually be improving GL.

OKay true ill give you Nathan and i do agree with Branson and Miller but look how many times they tried with Joey and Kevin and failed. And i agree ill be upset now if they cancel GL now because i started watching again thanks to Jeff

Joey Buchanan needs to be 35-years-old to even make a LICK of sense. Nobody is trying to see some 20-year-old boy play Joey.

"Joey and Kevin never connect to the audience no matter who is the role..."

I'm with season1217: Fillion was a great Joey and Dan Gauthier was loved by the fans as Kevin; the only problem there was that he was sacrificed at the altar of the oh-so great Dr. Spencer Truman -- a character that never connected with the audience.

Back to John Driscoll: he's make a solid C.J. recast on OLTL -- which would make way for the reunion of Driscoll and Crystal Hunt.

I like John Driscoll, but poor guy...he is going from walking through the woods of Peapack drinking V8 juice to being paired opposite of a hair model, er..I mean Natalia!

Maybe he can come on as Taylor's brother.

I'd rather see him as David's son, truly a chip off the old block! Smile Sean/Natalia is snoozeville!

I wouldn't mind him coming to AMC as Sean...Jack needs someone to be 'daddy' to since Greenlee is leaving..Maybe this time, Sean will have some sort of relationship with big sis, Bianca. Last time, she was so into Zarf she barely saw Sean.

But putting him with Natalia? Ugh. I don't like her. I'd rather see a Sean/Colby/Petey triangle...but could we get Ambyr Childers back as Colby????

I will try to keep an open mind, but honestly my first reaction is if I had been interested in watching GL I would be watching GL, NOT AMC (or what is starting to look like GL on AMC). I know a lot of folks love RPG but i LOATHE his smug, holier than thou version of Jake Martin. Of all the people JR ever slugged, Friday was the first time I ever thought GO JR because Jake isnt good enough to lick the bottom of Amanda's Jimmy Choo's. SERIOUS!

I'm sure JD is very nice but as an actor, he is less than average. He wouldn't bring anything to the show. I don't get why AMC would need another character. The ones they have right now barely work.

With all the talk of budget/pay cuts at ABC soaps, I simply do not understand the rash of newbies each of the soaps, particularly OLTL, are bringing on. Sure, newbies generally come with a "reduced" price tag but that isn't the same as free.

A recast Sean? Oh, hell no! That character didn't work the first time, and he won't work now. I could see him as maybe a recast Jamie. If they wanna pair a Montgomery with Natalia, why not Reggie?

I could see John going to OLTL as CJ, because he's way too young to be Joey...

He was boring as Coop and i don't see anything changing on AMC for him.
