Holy Crap!

I am so going to be tuning in to GL, Ellen Wheeler has actually done something positive for this show; who would have ever thought that was possible. Now lets hope TIIC don't botch this return because if they do it might actually kill this show.

Nice promo..... but the show really needs to get Harley back with Philip returning. Even if they have to recast, they need to get her back. Her absence is already glaring.... even more with Philip back.

The only thing missing is Rick? I wonder why he's not in the promo?

The show does have a big hole without Harley. But GL did go a while without Reva and Harley. Make it good again and we won't even notice Harley's gone.

Exactly, Rick is the greatest and most sustaining love of Phillip's life. He's the Jason to Phillip's Sonny.

Okay i have never seen Philip, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt lol.

The promo was good, they needed to promote his return and promote it EARLY so people can start tuning in now.

With that Said Philip acted kinda crazy in the promo, i dunno i just got this "I'm going to go JOKER ON YOU" vibe.

Also I really didn't think it was that amazing lol, it felt like a decent teaser, but i dunno i am expecting 'more' then some photoshoped images and a dramatic voice over.

Anyways i will be tuning in

I am sorry but this is a stunt just like tornado on AMC however I think this will have a little affect but I really don't see this show lasting any longer . I think it is time for the actors to find new jobs on other shows. We should really put together a death watch for soaps. Mine would be

GL- Turn out the light. Also I hate that theme song.
Days- makes my head hurt
ATWT- Nuke overrated. Boring
AMC- great actors, but needs better story lines and writing. No more new cast members. Build your couples tell stories. Bring back some vets Brooke, Dixie not Skye( tired of her) and Vanessa. Good writers. AMC is almost like Santa Barbara and if given the right material could be as witty and funny. Thorsten Kaye is extremely talented give him so of the dialogue for Mason and watch him shine. Kendall could be the next Eden. Anna is good as a crazy sidekick or just a bitchy sidekick to Janet from Another Planet. Give the work this show could be great again
BB- good ratings lousy acting and story lines just repeat
I mean I started watching BB when I was 13 and it has always been Brooke and Ridge (tired)
GH- Get rid of Kate. Less mob., less Robin and less Liason.
OLTL good but no more rapmance!!
Y&T- no major problems but give Lauren back ehr claws

I saw this promo yesterday after GL, and it was AWESOME to see! I knew that GL would be insane not to promote the heck out of Grant A returning. Phillip is one of those legacy characters, and after seeing this promo I am even MORE excited to see Phillip turn Springfield upside down with his return. Don't muck this up, Ellen!

Brilliant promo! If advertised enough, I think it really could get back many of the viewers who haven't watched in awhile.

Even though Rick isn't in the promo, I did hear he would be in Phillip's storyline, which is only right.

OMG...I am actually excited about GL again! It's a Christmas miracle!

Phillip's return promo is off the charts!

And yes, Johnathon, it is a little "The Dark Knight"-ish, however given

A) Phillip's state of mind when the character exited the canvas

combined with

B) the worldwide grosses and critical success of "The Dark Knight" and the massive DVD sales of that film

the Joker-esque promo is the perfect stylistic choice for the return of Phillip Spaulding.

There goes the 2009 budget!

I almost wet myself off that promo. CBS really put some time in it. This commercial needs to be everywhere from PerezHilton to BET.com, dammit!

Sounds like another GH fan gone nutty!!!! I'd rather watch Grady trim his toe-nails anyday than two minutes of GH,and I HATE Grady with a passion. This add is Awesome...I believe that Phillip will have a small impact on the ratings ....it will never have the ratings it once had,but hopefully with Phillip & the better writing of late GL will shine a little longer. GH fans have been hopeing for months that GL would be canceled...it's like some notch they want draw on a scoreboard. I've got news for those GH fans that feel this way....Your soap will never ever make it as long as GL has.... after all the a 1.4 and a 2.0 are not that far apart...plus when you look at the demographics GH & YR have lost the most fans over the past 2 years.

I've always kinda hoped Grant would come back to AMC as Alec McIntyre for a short stint to stir up trouble. He was soooo evil...

If GL brings back Mary Kay Adams as India, I might tune in.

Well I am not a GH fan but realistically if one soap is going to fall before the rest it is going to be Guiding Light which is a shame because it is I believe the oldest soap but these last ditch efforts will have minimal affects rising it from a 1.4 to a 1.6 still in last place. The writing isn't really that great, production horrible. I saw it today and turned it off and went back to sleep. Also realistically I don't think the executives at P&G which produce GL are interested in working in soaps anymore and would rather if faded away

Looks like this cost more than what we see on the show.

I only saw Phillip during Grant's final days, so I think his comeback is going to be good since he's good friends w/one of the many HWs on that show.

And hopefully if Ellen is trying to make Phillip Springfield's answer to Heath Ledger's Joker in TDK, hopefully her volume was up on her TV while watching it.

I love the promo! I'm so excited to have Phillip back!

I have to say while i haven't seen "that promo" everywhere, i have seen ALOT of online Guiding light ad's, CBS is actually putting money into the show's advertising budget at least lol.
