Star Magazine set off the latest round of Gossip Girl spinoff rumors yesterday morning when they reported that a possible spinoff would focus on the early romance between Rufus and Lily and how they first fell in love. However, by late yesterday afternoon Kristin over at E Online had debunked the report.

That would have been a boring spin off. If they do decide to do one it should be based on Jenny's character and the "It Girl" series.

I don't like any of the options lol, i am with Soapfan and i would have liked a Itgirl, this seemed like a decent idea but not one i really want to see lol.

I almost fell asleep reading about the POSSIBILITY of a Rufus & Lily spinoff! Here's to hoping that TPTB realize that they have a brilliant show AS IT IS.

Maybe its because im in my 30s, but a Lily/Rufus prequel sounds like an interesting idea, certainly moreso than a show focusing on Little J.
But I'm still glad they are not doing the spinoff. It might take some of the creative power away from GG (like I'm afraid Private Practice did to Grey's Anatomy), and I want GG to say its awesome self.
