Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Brooke Smith has been let go as Dr. Erica Hahn on Grey's Anatomy. Apparently the decision to fire Smith, whose character is currently in a lesbian relationship with Sarah Ramirez's popular character Callie, came down from network executives.

Well being fired because you play you're part beautifully, has nothing to do with liking the character or not. She played what she was asks to play.
JMO, but ABC does it again, it treats people like disposable garbage, especially woman.
Being sexist and discriminatory is nothing new to ABC, they are making it an art!
BTW only morons like ABC would intervine in a highly working nightime program.
Way to go ABC, piss off your best writer and your audience in one great swoop!

Wow, I thought she was a great part of the ensemble. Did NOT want her with Callie bcuz I think she and Mark need to get together, but I also read that they're rewriting Melissa George's part to tone down the gay-themed stories that were coming up. What's going on ABC???

This is shocking. And I can't believe they don't even let her wrap up her story.
I wouldn't call Hahn a distraction. I just never liked her. She reminds me of my scary female teachers from high school & college, lol. And I always cringed at the "undiscovered country" talk.
