The (Not-So) Smart Guy
It looks like Adam's getting a dose of conniving and backstabbing Genoa City-style from none other than the King of Hustlers, Jack Abbott. The newly-outcast Newman constantly brings up the fact that he went to Harvard Business School and graduated number two in his class, as if its his calling card. Unfortunately for Adam, they didn't have courses in the Art of Handling Jacko at Harvard. Maybe Brad can tutor him in his spare time?
Pairing up with his father's mortal enemy really doesn't say much for those Ivy League smarts Adam is always bragging about. Other than a friendship with the boy's mother years ago, Jack has no connection to Adam, yet all of a sudden he bailed him out of jail and offered to help him get revenge on Victor? Wouldn't that have set off some warning bells and whistles for someone who claims to be so smart?
Jack is leading a trail of breadcrumbs for Victor and whoever else decides to investigate his misdeeds and those crumbs lead right to Adam's doorstep. From setting the meeting up with the book publisher, then leaving Adam to fly solo and making sure the whole forging angle points directly to Adam, Jack might as well put the smoking pen in Adam's hand.
For someone who likes to perceive himself as smarter than the average bear, Adam is stuck on stupid when it comes to aligning himself with Smilin' Jack.

I hope that Jack destroys Victor, but I hope that Adam gets the upper hand on Jack.
I love Adam, and I want the smug, sanctimonious Newmans (namely Nikki and Vicky) brought down a notch or four.

Adam is Victor's son so I expect a bit of vindictiveness. What bothers me about Adam more than anything is the way he manhandled Heather when he caught her reading his letter from Victor. Where did the violence come from? Certainly not his mother. Victor is a lot of things, but he is not a physical abuser of women. Mentally maybe, but not physical. I would like to know where this violence in Adam comes from. As much as I don't care for Heather, I think she should be wary of him.

He is Victor's son but he's Hope's child... When did he decide to become a bastard and go after people with such vengence? Hope would have her sight restored and breakdance in her grave if she knew this mess was going on. He's been around Victor for half a year so he decides to be this way due to it? Its just a head scratcher just like him teaming up with Jack.

No, Victor would never put his hand on a woman. He'd just wish them dead! But I do feel that the direction that the writers took Adam in was wrong. He should have been like Hope w/ an ounce of Victor in him that comes out every now and then.

That's what I was hoping for when Adam came along. Evidently the writers want a Victor 2.0. I knew Adam would be angry about Victor ignoring him all his life, but violence should never be a part of him. Vengence I expected. He's seeing Jack's obsession of Victor, and I think he'll change his tune a bit. Maybe a little more of Hope will emerge as time goes along. Now would be a good time for "Ghost Hope" to show up.

I don't blame Adam for being pissed off! Those brats the stripper bore Victor grew up with silver thermometers stuck up their butts while he was knee-deep in maneur! Victor could have insisted on staying a part of his life. Of course he's bitter. Victoria has looked at him like something she found under her shoe since day one. Someone should tell her that she's the Newman child whose paternity was once in question, not Adam. Also Victor kicked him to the curb for basically acting just like Victor himself. No wonder the guy is confused. His mother's dead, his half siblings or spoiled A-holes, his stepmother's a sanctimonious lush who has forgotten where she came from, or more pointedly, where Victor rescued her from, .i.e. a skid row strip club, and a father whose an unstable jerk!

Adam did get a bum deal that's true. However, Hope did tell Victor to stay out of the kid's life. She told him when Cliff died that Adam considered him (Cliff) as his father and wanted to keep it that way. In regards to the Newman 1.0 kids and Nikki they are all at fault. Victoria has no right to say, "We didn't want to know you because your mom stole our father from our mom," that was wrong of her to say when she first met him. Yeah its possible she and her family felt that way but to tell him such was wrong. Maybe Nick didn't feel that way or Nikki, maybe its true and now it wasn't. That wasn't Adam's fault it was Victor's. When he came to town he didn't make it easy for them to get to know him with his huge chip on his shoulders and his pre-conceived notions about everyone. Nick tried to get to know him but the boy was too interested in underminding his marriage. Nikki was nice to him when he came to town. That wore off when the boy decided to play Victor and Victoria against each other. I don't blame her for that, its only natural since that's her child. As for Victor.... He caused Adam to act the fool by playing him against his elder siblings. He dangled the keys to the kingdom every chance he got when Adam told him and everyone else he only came to town for a trial period with his job. When Adam saw what Victor was offering him he fell into that trap. Then Adam did the biggest no-no of them all.... Go up against Victor's #1 yes-man, Neil. That's when he started to show himself off and things fell apart for the kid. So Adam's no saint and neither is his daddy as much as I enjoy THE VICTOR NEWMAN, as he likes to think of himself. Nick and JT tried to be cordial to that boy but he acted as though they were beneath him and look where it got him.

It was especially wrong for Victoria to say that Hope stole Victor from Nikki since it was a lie. Victor had been married to Ashley before he was presumed dead in Kansas, not Nikki. They hadn't been together in years when he fell for Hope. Victoria is a liar and the truth ain't in her.

That's one of the things I didn't like. Victoria tried to make HOPE of all people look like some homewrecking hoe when it wasn't the case. She was wrong to say that to the boy. It ain't his fault he was created nor was it his mother's that Victor decided he wanted the simple life. I guess that scene was for us fans of the real Victoria to marinate on since she ain't coming back..
