Is 90210 Granny Leaving the Zip Code?
By Jamey Giddens on October 15, 2008

Adriana (Jessica Lowndes) may have been the one who overdosed a few weeks back on The CW's 90210, but it appears to be Arrested Development alum Jessica Walter (Tabitha) whose screentime could flatline. Entertainment Weekly Online's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Walter, whose scene-stealing Tabitha has been one of the spinoff's most buzzed about characters, has been taken off contract. Walter will stick around on a recurring basis assures series execs. Yeah that's smart. Take the funny, drunk granny off contract and keep that train wreck AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi) front and center. That's what I would do! (Can you smell the sarcasm?)

Hmmm. I'm probably in the minority, but I mostly find the character of Tabitha annoying. She's too much. I like over the top, but I think they need to dial her back a little.

I never said I don't like drunks, I was the one who said "a drunk Taylor is a good Taylor" remember? LOL I just don't think one drunk character can cancel out all of a show's ills.

I loved her chemistry with Dixon.

I think she needs to stay, but I don't think Naomi is 'that bad', she has actually improved since episode 1 and I think she will keep doing so.
Is she (Naomi) the reason i tune in? nope, but she isn't going to stop me from watching.
I do think they need to keep Jessica Walter on, but at the same time she really feels like a filler character, she is only on every now and again, she has a few lines and thats it.
It's not like they are getting rid of one of the 'core' characters such as Rob Estes or Lori Loughlin ((The parents))
Is it a loss? sure, but it's not one that should effect the show in a major way.
Edit: episode 7 discussion is open in the forums, come and join in! here!

That girl acts like she got into a bottle of some bad nerve pills. Ugh. LOL And that Ogilve home perm mess on top of her head has GOT to go! Bless her heart, if they keep her front and center I don't think I'll be able to stick it out.

I'm not totally blaming AnnaLynne McCord, but the Naomi character is totally flat. They should send her ass to jail to bring and usher in a more likeable privileged girl whose problems are all right in your face from episode one. Although I do love Naomi's mom, Traci.

See for me it is all McCord. I could buy the character in the hands of even the most teen soapy of actresses, but McCord simply cannot act. She is painful to watch. Those jerky facial expressions, the quivering. She is GOD AWFUL! Makes me want to dig my eyes out and throw them at the wall.

LMAO Season, much of my childhood was spent causing "Oh my Gord" gasps from my Grandmother. One time I asked her if we were there yet on a car trip to Oklahoma City and she told me we had about another two hours and I screamed I was going to open the car door and jump out head first! Yep, such an even-tempered wee one I was! Ha

ROTFL! I guess you make Scarlett O'Hara look like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off!

Lol, She isn't the best actress, but if you dislike her that much why don't you just fastforward when she is on? *guessing you have a DVR/ not watching it live lol*

Because I have to watch the entire show to cover it properly, LOL. I don't even fast forward Guiding Light...which is why I have the bucket of puke next to my couch. People assume I'm bullimic.

Lol, I know how you feel.
But in the grand scheme of things isn't it better to cover aspects of the show then not cover the show at all?
And you have to admit while she mite not be the best, she rivals some of the lovely people we deal with on soaps *cough* Melanie (DAYS) *cough*

Well Season, I do derive my strength from the RED EARTH of Tara...or is it the Crown Royal??? I forget.

ssjohn I probably wouldn't even notice her until season three, except that she is the "it" girl and so heavily used in storyline. AnnaLynne makes Ian Ziering look like a stellar thespian. And yes, she is better than that awful little Melanie creation on Days, but I would expect more from a primetime spinoff of a billion dollar franchise that an entire network has set its future on. Overall I am enjoying the show and have even come to tolerate the other over-acting offender, Shenae Grimes, but AnnaLynne has got to take a Klonopin or something to settle those facial expressions down or she's gonna plum cause me Vertigo from looking at her.

I can't continue... Jamey you need to be committed. This is too hilarious!
But I must say I love my Jessica Walter!

No!!!!! Don't take away my Jessica Walter! She's one of the reasons I'm still watching! They should use her more and just connect her into the stories better - not put her on recurring! Why don't they bring Linda Grey back and have the two of them stir up some trouble?! UGH! I am now going to go watch Arrested Development DVDs, at least they appreciated her!

SusieQ, Jessica is mine! She's been mine since she asked Dave to play Misty.
Lucille Bluth and Sue Ellen, together, on one show?. That would be appointment television!

Maybe they should give her her own 90210 spinoff called Granny Gone Wild?

Or how about she go to Gossip Girl and play a relative of Blair Waldorf's?
You're crazy, Luke. Granny Gone Wild. That sounds like a skit you would see on SNL or MAD TV! LOL! Droopy breasts and grandma panties are all the rage this season. No offense to my beloved Jessica.
