Y&R: Bell Back at the Helm
By Jillian Bowe on September 11, 2008

Dual roles is familiar territory for Y&R. Bell's predecessor, Lynn Marie Latham, wielded two hats while working on the sudsers before being given the axe. News of Bell's promotion comes on the heels of former Y&R Executive Producer Josh Griffith being replaced by consultant Paul Rauch.

Y&R also has a new casting director by the way!
I'm excited to see what these new changes will bring to the show.

Thank God, on the news that they have a new casting director because the choices the old one made were questionable!

For the new casting director ... maybe it would finally be time to find a new Colleen, if they don't want her written out.
Congrats to MAB. She deserves it! Did a great job for the last half year she is on board.

A new casting director is a very good thing. And yes, the first task for that person is too find a new Colleen and bring back Victoria Rowell at once, even though this is beyond the CD's control.
I am not so sure about these head writers who also do double-duty as exec-producer. I just think it leads to a really quick burnout when they have too many responsibilities. Stick to what you are really good with. Are they still bringing on Paul Rauch to co with her? I hope so because he has produced classic soap.
