Smallville Season Eight Debuts With Hartley

The eighth season of Smallville premiered last night and just as the previews had hinted, Justin Hartley is back as the Green Arrow. I've maintained for some time that The CW needs to give Hartley his own Green Arrow spinoff and last night's episode just drove my point home. When the day comes that The CW decides to cancel Smallville I hope they give Hartley the spinoff he deservers.

I loved the show last night! Yes, I miss the original cast with ma & pa kent, lana and lex but I am looking forward to the new season! I am looking forward to Clark off of the farm. I grew up in the 80s watching the old Justice League cartoons and found nothing wrong with the costumes. Aqua man was perfect!!!

The season premiere was okay. I'm going to give it a little while before I decide on whether this show can survive the loss of Michael Rosenbaum as Lex. Justin rocks as Oliver Queen though! I agree they really should just give him his own spin-off and call it a day. Once you start entering season 8, shows tend to be in a downward spiral creatively and smallville's at the point where you can pretty much guess how the season premiere will end - it's pretty much true to formula at this point. Oh, and that better not be the last we see of the Martian Manhunter either!
