Jeff Branson, The New Shayne Lewis

We were wondering how long it would take for a show to scoop up Jeff Branson after he left All My Children. Now we know. Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Guiding Light has cast Branson as the new Shayne Lewis. It should be interesting to see what kind of dynamic Branson's Shayne has with Kim Zimmer's Reva in comparison to Tom Pelphrey's Jonathon.

This is bittersweet. I'm happy he's found work but on Guiding Light? I don't know. But I will definitely tune in more to the show if he's on. And it seems while DAYS is picking up the stars of Passions, ABC and CBS continue to trade stars like baseball cards.

He is suposed to air i think December 1. And at least they didn't go out and just cast anyone, they took the time and they looked around.

I am glad he found somewhere to go, his talent was wasted on AMC. Even though I don't watch GL I look forward to hearing everyone's feed back on how he is doing.

Aww a Birthday Present to me if he airs on December 1st. Like what season1217 said it is bittersweet. I can't stomach GL these days so it's sad he's not on another show...but I'm thrilled that he's got work on daytime again. He's an incredible actor and I wish him all the luck.

It looks like we have a tug of war of actors between All My Children and Guiding Light. So far AMC is winning 3-1. Now, on the the recast business. I think Jeff Branson as Shayne is VERY interesting. I don't know the actor but I've heard that he is very talented. Guiding Light can use all the talented actors they can get. He should be a good addition to the show. I just hate how we have to wait until December to see him. Oh well.

This is a great move by GL. Now they just need to bring in Kelli Giddish (ex-Di Kirby; AMC) as Marah Lewis, and either Sabine Singh (ex-Greenlee) or Cady McClain (ex-Dixie) as Harley Cooper and the show may stand a chance.
