I pity the fool of a lawyer who has to defend Pam (Alley Mills) in any upcoming trial, once she's been apprehended for allegedly poisoning Eric and taking Donna hostage.
I pity the fool of a lawyer who has to defend Pam (Alley Mills) in any upcoming trial, once she's been apprehended for allegedly poisoning Eric and taking Donna hostage.
Any lawyer worth their salt should be able to use an insanity defense, considering we know she's been off her medication, but what other "plausible" defense could Pam's lawyer use to get Pam off?
Obviously, the "I hate honey bears" defense won't cut it with most jurors, but if I were a juror and it came up as part of the defense I might actually consider giving it some serious thought. No juror should endure hearing Donna refer to Eric as "honey bear" the way we, and Pam have had to (I probably wouldn't make the best of jurors on this case, I know). It really could drive someone to insanity. Here's to hoping Pam doesn't serve time. Heaven knows, as forgiving as Eric is, Pam will probably be back to baking lemon bars within the month.

As wacky and campy as this story has turned into and despite the schizophrenic sense of itself this show seems to have, B&B's Alley Mills has brought the fun, funny and now, the total psychotic to the character of Pam Douglas. The scenes in the cabin with Donna were hilarious. While I feel the writing bordered on the cartoonish, Alley managed to convey some vulnerability and sadness to the character, her motivations and the resulting effects. She has been the lonely, old-maid sister to the wealthy, powerful Stephanie Forrester her whole life, looking after their mother all the while developing a chemical imbalance requiring medicine. Off of those meds, Pam is prone to rash decisions, self-serving manipulations and now, a danger to others.
B&B has been really strange lately. It has veered from the dramatic and emotional to totally off the wall in a single episode. There is such a disconnect somewhere in the writing. It seems as if one writer is in charge of the Katie Logan/Nick/Bridget story and another is heading the Donna/Eric/Owen/Pam story. Both involve the other characters on the show but these are the 2 front burner story lines right now and yet they are completely different in tone, rhythm and level. Alley Mills has taken material given to her and took it beyond the page, making us laugh yet feel sympathy for her at the same time. I am looking forward to Pam on the run with her shotgun but I wish B&B had more continuity as a whole piece instead of 2 parts that do not fit together. Being a half hour, B&B has the luxury of telling story at a different pace that can be more intimate in nature. What is currently on screen, though, seems disjointed and lacking an identity.

The only thing that is sad that Pam's crazy scheme didn't work on Donna. I don't feel sympathy for her because she nothing but a two timing slut if you ask me. There isn't rootable for her and the show is in a nosedive. I am sick of the Logan show and need to go back to what is is about: the fashion industry.

King TV, you are so right... I knew there was something weirdly disconnected about the tone of the show - it's exactly like you said. It's really disjointed, with the storylines having totally different paces/styles, but overlapping. It's odd. Gotta love Ally Mills though
