9. Don't let Cane be a real Chancellor. Instead bring Billy back and make him the heir of the Chancellor assets.
10. Bring back good old catfights!!! Let the vixens come out. With Jill, Amber, Phyllis and Chloe this show could do so much more there.

1. Jack Abbot - Get him back as head of Jabot and bring his sons on. (Also, my wish is that Nancy Lee Grahn comes to this show and is his love interest, she could be cast as Diane Jenkins or someone else, does it really matter it's Nancy Lee Grahn).

2. Something must be done with the Newman children. I'm just not feeling 'em. Not Victoria, not Nick, not Adam/Victor Jr. Get them in interesting story lines and do something about their romantic pairings. Victoria and JT are a snooze fest. I could go on and on about each child but I won't. Let's hope they don't screw up the casting of Abby when they SORAS her because we know it's coming, it's Y&R of God's sake.

3. I like that Kay & Jill are mother and daughter. But they need to have more of that mother/daughter angst. Play with it a little bit more the fact that they are related and have hated each other since the beginning of time. (Something GH should have done w/ Bobbie and Carly but I digress).

4. Who is in charge of casting? They need to go back to casting school because a lot of their choices are just plain bad. I don't like the way people just mention getting rid of characters because getting fired can, for the most part, suck but practically all the young characters on this show need to be either recast, done away with completely or given acting coaches who perform miracles on the side.

5. Gloria, Gloria, Gloria. I say this as I shake my head from side to side. I won't say get rid of her, for Luke's sake, but something must be done I'm just not sure what. I do want to see her under Jack's thumb though. I want him to find out about the cream incident and blackmail her with it. Although, it probably would make more sense that he would just turn her in it would be more fun for him to just make her his puppet on a string.

6. Don't let Cane be Jill's son. I'd prefer if they would just undo the whole switched at birth thing and bring on Phillip's son, Jill's grandson. Let Chloe be pregnant by him and have them use it against Cane because they know he's conning everyone. This story line probably doesn't make much sense but I want Cane gone like yesterday. Put Elizabeth Hendrickson on contract and have her and the Chancellor women go at it.

7. I love Jack but I could really care less about the whole Jack, Sharon, Nick, Phyllis thing. And when has Phyllis become the morals police. The Sabrina article in Restless Style is totally something Phyllis would do. Is this a parallel universe or something, when did Sharon become Phyllis and vice versa?

8. How about black characters who aren't dullsville. If they're going to give Bryton McClure Emmys than give him Emmy worthy work. Bring back Davetta Sherwood as Lily and have her get back with Daniel so when Dru gets back she and Phyllis can go at it again. And somebody needs to slip some crack in Neil's drink or something because he's so blah.

9. Dig into the rich history of the show and bring back some old characters like Dina Abbott, she should have been the one embroiled in the Abbot drama not Gloria. Where the heck is Mamie? That's who John should have married. She could smack some sense into the Winters.

10. Story lines that intrigue us. Romances that swept us off our feet. Surprises that make our jaws hit the floor. Soap Operas are all about emotion make us feel what we should feel when watching the show.

10 - Bring back Eileen Davidson as "Ashley" and Victoria Rowell as "Drucilla" and have her interrupt Neil and Karen or Tyra's wedding day. This could be a year's worth of story.
9 - "Restless Style" flops and the aftermath of it's failure. A big "told you so" from Victor that drives Jack to want revenge, thus #6.
8 - Increase the Phyllis/Amber/Daniel issues. Something big and dramatic. Phyllis needs her edge back and this provides a great, adult way for her to resume her scheming ways.
7 - Eventually reunite Nikki and Victor but give them time to explore being alone and what life is like without each other. I would maybe support Nikki falling off the wagon again because MTS can play a fierce, drunken bitch! Maybe have Victor and Ashley resume their romance. But Nikki and Victor are the soul couple of this show and do belong together.
6 - Have Jack join Glo and Jeff in buying Jabot stock and pitting them against Jill, Brad and Kay. They need to figure out a place for Brad and a storyline for him to revel in. Don Diamont is so good at being bad.
5 - How about a Kevin/Jana/Colleen triangle? Colleen has befriended these people after everything so why not have her realize she is in love with Kevin after all of it. Get rid of Adrian.
4 - Keep the Lily/Cane/Chloe story going, maybe even so far as to break up Lily and Cane and divide them for awhile and have Chloe's schemes go off without a hitch until one day when her machinations and lies will be revealed. Maybe Lily can find solace in Noah Newman's arms.
3 - Jill finds out that Kay is NOT her mother but does not tell her because she wants to retain her control of Chancellor Enterprises. Or we find out that Cane has been conning them for all of this time and his bad side emerges which would also affect improvement #4.
2 - Bring on JT's parents or something to bring some drama for him and Vicky. Something that brings the bitch back out in her. I think she should also go back to working at Newman and have a business/family rivalry with Adam. Beef up the Adam/Heather romance with her position as DA as an obstacle for them. Adam should be growing more and more ruthless like his father. Maybe Adam could do something illegal and Heather has to try him or they get married to avoid the conflict.
1 - Nick and Sharon are now dealing with a grown up Noah, who is now a very troubled teen. A drug addiction? Maybe he plots to bring his parents back together. Maybe the destruction of the magazine, Jack focusing on getting Jabot back and reigniting his war with Victor and Phyllis focused on tearing Amber and Daniel apart, Nick is left desolate and alone. This could lead to he and Sharon having an affair on the people who they married and getting back together. Maybe a Phyllis/Brad romance?
ALSO - I am very curious about the Michael finding his father story but I hope that it involves Lauren in a way so she is utilized more as a character.

I was so excited to see this that I just threw these things together while at work so it is not as fleshed out or detailed as I would want it to be. I keep thinking that I am forgetting about some characters. Basically, bring Y&R back to the beautiful, character-driven, slow-paced and artfully planned climaxes that made this show the best of it's kind at one time. Bill Bell was such a master a letting the pot simmer and simmer and simmer until it exploded into a boiling rage. Overall, I think so far, Maria Bell and Sheffer are doing a very good job at picking out the weeds and concentrating on growing a well-trimmed and blossomed garden of soapy goodness. We still need to give them time for their ideas and stories to actually get to our screens. OLTL did not turn around in 3 months. It has taken a year for it to become the most exciting, emotionally felt and complex drama currently.

One more thing - If Chloe is really pregnant and they did have her pregnancy tests turn out positive and she even talked to a "booty call" on the phone, have it turn out to be Brad. They were working together at Jabot and off-screen, maybe they started a casual sex relationship that resulted in her getting knocked up. She's obsessed with Cane so she wants to trick him into thinking its his and Brad could end up with a child that he has so desperately wanted ever since Ashley lost their baby in a car accident. This could also be a year's worth of story, pacing and plot points. Plus, love the alliance of Chloe and Amber. They need to work that angle to the max.

There are lots of ways of improving The Y&R, I think the new writers are on track, they are wrapping up a lot of loose ends and I loved it.

1) Use the assets that they have on the canvas, improve the storyline of Nick and Phyllis, give us more details of why these two got together, what is it about Phyllis that Nick choose her time after time against his long establish marriage

b) If Nick and Phyllis are a couple, then write them as a couple who fight and argue, let there be tension, lord knows no marriage survive been happy all the time. They can fight and make up that is what good soap couple do they face conflict but resolve it because they love each other.

2) Utilize the talents of the amazing actors on the payroll, stop investing so much time on storylines that are force fed, do we really care about Cane and Lily please Where is the fabulous story for Jess Walton, Michelle Stafford et al

3) Amber and Daniel may have potential but the storyline is stagnant.

4) Do we really have anything invested in Chloe and Cane and Lily

5) Who is Tara and Ana, why should we care about them

6) Why must we revisit the RS infighting time and time again

I love the direction that Y&R is heading the characters are flourishing and the storylines are moving along. Move the Quad away from each other, return Jack and Sharon to Jabot and Nick and Victoria to Newman with Phyllis, Or leave RS style in Nick and Phyllis hand.

With Noah returning from Camp, let him be disgusted by the actions of Jack and his mother support, after all he is a Newman, and time and time Jack has disappointed him, when is Noah going to rebel.

Most of All I want to know "who brought the Newman Jet down and Why" This could be an adventure with Nick and Phyllis, Jt and Victoria and countless others, it would make for a good adventure and couple bonding

1. Give Phyllis & Nick a romantic evening and start showing us the scenes that made Phick fans fall in love with them.
2. End the quad working at Restless Style and either have Shack go to Jabot or Phick go to Newman.
3. Break up Cane & Lily and have Cane get involved with a woman his own age.
4. Have everyone learn that Gloria tampered with the skin cream and send her away.
5. Have Victor go after Jack & Sharon for what they did to Sabrina on publishing the Sabrina article in RS.
6. Have Ashley & Abbey come back.
7. Have Brad's past come out and allow everyone to know he really isn't Brad Carlton.
8. Tell veiwers who brought down the Newman jet and why?
9. Give Nick & Phyllis a real storyline that doesn't have Sharon or Jack involved in it.
10. Have Nick learn of Sharon's involvement in delivering the orange bag of money for Brad.

8. Drucilla comes back to break up Cane and Lily
9. VR returns to Y&R
10. Bring back Dru

1. Get rid of Chloe!
2. Jack & Gloria team up to take over Jabot, when Sharon finds out she runs to Brad and they resume their affair.
3. Keep Phyllis & Nick together! They need to let Jack buy them out of Restless Style.
4. Cane and Lily should have a fairytale wedding
5. Daniel and Colleen might make a cute couple, that would really piss off Amber
6. Nikki and Victor must reunite! After Nikki and Paul have a little fling of course, she has to thank him for saving her life after all
7. Jill needs to find herself a younger man... Adam? He realizes Victor isn't retiring anytime soon and Neil will always have seniority so he needs to find power somewhere else, Jill shouldn't be hard to seduce
8. Bring back Abby. She so cute!
9. Don't bring back Dru. Please don't!! If you do please change her attitude or I will have to start fast forwarding her constant bitching.
10. More focus on family. The Newmans need to reunite, we could use more Abbotts, does Katherine have any other family out there? Her memoirs could bring up some kind of family mystery or long lost relatives

1) Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) MUST return; however, I also believe Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams), Mamie (Veronica Redd) and a SORASed Little Nate should be right behind her. I think Dru could do what she does best -- put other characters on blast while ignoring her own problems. Her reemergence could be great fodder for Restless Style. I think Dru is always best when balanced with Olivia, who's her true, honest-to-God rival, not Phyllis. Mamie was always one of my favorite characters because she really was like a mother to characters who weren't her biological children -- Dru, Olivia, Jack, Ashley, Tracy. Mamie is the moral backbone of the Barber/Winter and Abbott families. I would love to see Mamie go head-to-head against Gloria – the immoral backbone of the Abbott family. As for Nate, I think YR has an opportunity to create a complex, younger character of color. He must have issues, considering his father cheated on his mother, died, almost exposed him to the HIV virus, had his step-father supposedly die and have his aunt fall off a cliff. He can be dark, edgy, daring, sexy, etc. He could be the young, male equivalent to his aunt, Dru, and a great antagonist for his perfect, perfect cousins, Lily and Devon. He doesn't have to be an all-out villain. But, any child of Olivia Winters is gonna rebel -- big time!
2) Rebuild to Abbotts. John Abbott needs to return. I think it could be as blindingly simple as revealing Allistair is John. John paid an actor to switch identities with him. The Abbotts need a patriarch. I think a senior love triangle between Gloria, John and Mamie would be entertaining. Of course, Ashley and Abby should return. Brad needs a woman and Ashley needs a man – a real man, not Ken dolls like Ridge and Rick Forrester (Eileen Davidson should have been matched with Jack Wagner anyway on BB). Oh. And, while you’re at it, bring back Tracy to bitch and moan about Ashley and Brad. Ashley could add the sophisticated, romantic component, considering Sabrina has passed away; and I would pay to see Tracy deal with her daughter turning into a younger version of Lauren Fenmore. Billy needs to come back, too. No one is more arrogant and bratty than Billy Abbott. I could see his arrogant incompetence go head-to-head against Adam’s arrogant overcompensating. Billy needs to be with what comes in between Amber and Chloe. But, at the end of the day, the girls should put their heads together and hatch a payback plan for him. And don’t SORAS Abby. Let her grow up before our eyes like Robin Scorpio.
3) Right the wrong of the century – Katherine and Jill are not meant to be mother and daughter. A mother/daughter rivalry is very, very different from a, “Girl, you stole my man” rivalry – the latter of which is far more entertaining. Also, having Cane be Philip is a huge slap in the face for viewers. Philips is dead. Let us have that sweet, touching story back. And why, since Jill discovered Cane, supposedly, is Philip, has she not mourned the death of the child – the man who she raised to be her son? And why hasn’t Katherine mourned the fact that her grandson, Philip III (the real Chancellor heir), isn’t her grandson? Hmm. While you’re at it, bring back Nina, too. She should be helping Katherine write her book, not Amber. I don’t even think Amber reads, much less writes. Because of these idiotic augmentations of the show’s history, Billy and Mac are cousins… THE best young love story... Ruined… Moving on…
4) Have Laurie Brooks launch a hostile takeover of Restless Style. I’ll never understand why the show’s writers concocted a business in the publishing world without including at least one Brooks. It’s as insane as having Jabot with zero Abbotts. As a side note, I find it hard to believe that a woman who was married to Victor Newman was killed, yet Leanna Love is nowhere in sight to scoop Restless Style.
5) Unless Tyra becomes a conniving bitch real soon, she’s useless. Eva the Diva can play a vicious tramp. Let her! If she character continues to be a snooze, she and her little girl need to leave town.
6) Make me care about Victoria and JT’s relationship. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Britney came back. What would that mean for Victoria and JT? Britney could add some trouble for that boring, dry relationship. How they got together in the first place is a blur. I, basically, think many storylines could come about if JT were actually written as JT – not a Paul Williams knockoff. JT is NOT a nice guy. He’s snob and Victoria is meant to be a snoot. On paper, they should make the perfect, annoying, love-to-hate couple, but they’re not being written that way. They’re too nice and gentle. They were characters that once had claws. (Is it out of the question to ask Heather Tom and Amelia Heinle to switch roles?)
7) Have a socially relevant storyline. I was mesmerized by the AIDS storyline between Nathan, Keisha, Malcolm and Olivia. There needs to be more of that daring, social storytelling. Rape, incest, cancer, drug abuse, cutting, etc. Take your pic, exploit, then, educate.
8) Develop a romance! At first, I hated Victor and Sabrina’s relationship. However, as it developed, it reminded me of romances on YR from the 90s. They were the visual equivalent of reading a romance novel. I want to be sucked in by a sweeping and intricately told romance.
9) Keep up the good work. I think the writers are doing a great job. They made me love Sabrina and care about the whole David Chow mystery. I look forward to see what else is in the works.
10) Stay away from the evil twin storylines for AT LEAST a decade. Carmen, John, Bardwell and Phyllis had twins in the past 2 years! That’s too damn many doppelgangers, y’all! C’mon, now! LOL!

First off, the soap gods have already answered 2 of my prayers...Billy is coming back & the rebirth of the Victor/Jack feud. HOORAY!!!
-Do something with Lily. After all that Lily has been through, I don't understand why this character doesn't have layers.
-Start giving Chloe some depth. The cartoonish bit is getting old.
-reverse the Jill/Kay mess. I H-A-T-E when Jill calls Kay mother.
-If TPTB don't kill this Useless Style crap, I'm going to go postal.
-JT becoming Paul(2. is scaring me. Please, just stop.
-Bring back Ashley

Better writing for Phick that does not involve Shack. I want them to be strong with each other like they were during the affair and hunt for Daniel and Lily. Also more Phick love scenes.

Bring back Sabrina. She was refreshing and brought peace and love to Victor and to the show in general. Sabrina was a wonderful character and all the romance that came with her was what this show needed the most.
