Young and Restless: Nia Peeples Out!
TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco has confirmed in his latest Suds Report that Nia Peeples is in fact out at the Young & Restless.
The departure of Peeples from the role Karen Taylor may not comes as much of a surprise to most Young & Restless fans. Karen Taylor first arrived in Genoa City last year to act as a political consultant for Nikki Newman's failed senatorial campaign. Afterward the campaign ended Karen stuck around town and fell into a relationship with Neil Winters. Unfortunately, it's hard for any character to fill the shoes of Drucilla Winters and the pairing seemed to flounder in front of our eyes.
Peeples is currently set to appear in Between Heaven and Earth, which is in production. For more on Between Heaven and Earth visit IMDB.
As an aside, maybe if the Young & Restless had brought in Peeples in as a "take no prisoners" looking character like the one pictured from Peeples' Half Past Dead fans might have sat up and took notice at her character?

I love Nia, back from her "Fame" days
I was excited to see her on Y&R because I think she's a really lovely and talented actress, but Karen bored the heck out of me! I liked her, but the Karen/Neil scenes became nap time for me...

I really like her, but I have to agree she had a boring character. She should have been allowed to interact with someone other than Neil. It was tunnel vision. She was at her best the last few weeks, challenging him.

I have always loved Nia Peoples, but I must agree that while I loved the idea of Neil and Karen, the reality was boring. I agree taht Karen should have had more of an edge. Nevertheless, I will miss her on Y&R.

Seriously, TPTB over at Y&R should stop delaying the inevitable and announce Victoria Rowell's return. Time to make sister guuurl claw her way back over that cliff. It would be hilarious if they do her return scene right where she toppled off and have one hand shoot up in the air and grab the edge of the cliff followed by the other hand. Then, when we see her head pop up it should still have that hat she wore that day she "died", ya'll know Dru ain't going nowhere without her hat. LOL!
