General Hospital: Jason Cook To Play New Doctor; A "Shelle" Reunion Possible?

SoapNet.com is reporting that insanely popular Days of Our Lives vet Jason Cook (ex-Shawn Douglas Brady) is joining General Hospital as a new doctor at GH. Of course this is causing rampant speculation that GH will see if Cook and his former Days leading lady Kirsten Storms (ex-Belle/Maxie) will have a "Shelle" of their former chemistry once Cook arrives in Port Charles.

"We CAN tell you his character will be crossing paths with Maxie very early on,"
said SoapNet.com's Jesse Murray. "Could there be a "Shelle" redux? You'll have to stay tuned for more details!"

Rumor has it the doctor Cook is signed to play will turn out to be none other than Liz's brother Steven, who was briefly paired with Carly the last time he was in town. Hmmm, me thinks Cook is a bit young to play Becky Herbst's older brother, but it would be nice to see Liz react to her bro hooking up with the woman who slept with her husband and fed him drugs! Welcome back to daytime Cookie! Thanks Ved for the tip!

YAY!!!!! I'm thrilled!! Cook is talented, charming and HOT!! I think he is a bit young to play Liz's brother (though I've said for awhile I would like the character to come back).

Now that I think about it, Cook would have made a great B&B's Thomas... But I can't wait to see him on GH!

Damn it! Just when I thought that Spixie had my heart on lock, this happens. This pairing will be an ace in the whole! Good for GH that they snatched up Jason before Days decided to bring Shawn back.

I don't care that he looks younger than Liz, I am glad they are bringing back Stephen Lars Webber. I am also glad they are not bring back that tranny who played him last time.

It's a good grab on GH's part but I just can't see him as Steven Lars.

Well, I'll give Frons this - he knows how to cater to the young female audience during the summer. I can only imagine that all those Shelle fans will flock to see the prospect of the original Shelle reuniting. Probably won't cause a huge bump in ratings, but I imagine that demographic will be well represented.

If Jason Cook is way to young to play Liz`s older bro I guess most of you forgot that SLW was tested as a love interst for Carly when TB was playing Carly ,So how could he be there for Maxie .The rumor I read on Scrubs hub was that the new doc for Robin is a friend of Patrick`s and he was inerest in her but she wasn`t inerested in him and that she is deaf and the best in her field and she has ties to people already on the canvse .She`s going to be tested with Ric ,Lucky ,and Nik and Leo she also going to be tested with Jax if he stays on the show.

Get any damn Webber back on my screen and I'm fine. Create a whole new role if you want.

I agree it may be a bit jarring if Cook were to play older brother to Becky Herbst. Granted the age difference is only a few years, and lets not forget how soaps love to fudge with character ages. I'll be interested to see what GH does. It's sort of like when Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols were reunited on GH after their years together on DAYS. I'm just happy he's coming in as a doctor, regardless if he's Steven or not! GH needs more medical staff. The more doctors, nurses, etc., the more hosptial action we'll likely get! Then again, the last doc to hit Port Charles turned out to be the worst hitman in history...
