Last week we posed the question "Which woman is the great love of Sonny's life?" and received quite an amazing response. This week it's Port Charles' other oft-smitten goodfella Jason Morgan that we want to hear about.
Currently it's sweet nurse Elizabeth Webber who has hold of Jason's heart, much to the tremendous delight of Liason fans who have been hoping for this pairing for the better part of a decade. But for JaSam fans it is painful to watch Jason with Liz, who they see as a liar and manipulator who came between Jason and their girl Sam.
Then there are those retro fans who long for the days of Jason's tulmultuous love affair with Sonny's kid sister Courtney or his starcrossed pairing with Robin Scorpio. And let's not forget the girl who deflowered him, the sensual Keesha Ward (Senait Ashenafi). So here it it, who in fact is the great love of Jason's life?

Sam is def Jason's true love!! They were perfectly matched. And during their first couple of years together they reminded me of old-school supercouples, they met, didn't like each other, became friends, fell in love, had cute comedic moments, adventure s/l's and did the whole tortured couple thing too. They were all about unconditional love and that's a great Super Couple!! Nothing could break them up (not even a second case of amnesia, where Jason fell in love with Sam all over again! SO SUPER COUPLE!) If TPTB hadn't thought KeMo was leaving last year, they would still be together
And sorry, gotta argue with this - Liason wasn't 10 years in the making. That's like saying Jason and Keesha are 15 years in the making, lol! They dated and broke up that's all. Jason admitted to Courtney that he cared for Liz but didn't love her:

And now that Journey is done and over with I don't know. I love Liason but I feel like Lucky and Liz are soulmates so I'm conflicted.

i loved robin and jason together. i think that a lot of people forget that jason did leave the mob with/for robin ( i say this because some people think he would only do this for liz, when he's already done it). they were michael's parents and were together for a long time as far as soaps go. i'll never forget when there was a huge hit on sonny and jason's loved ones (i think it was the one done when laura was singing lulu a lullaby). the first thing jason did was hop a plane to paris to check on robin.
i didn't like jason with anyone but robin until sam came along. i think that's because whatever the circumstances, their relationship wasn't forced or judgemental. there was no need to ask for a change of lifestyle nor was that a reason they couldn't be together.
i voted for sam because i just don't ever see them putting robin and jason back together and sam and him just meshed so well together. although if they did put robin and jason romantically together again, there would be awesome history and stories to tell.

Even though I've been a HUGE Liason fan since the beginning, I voted for Robin. It just seems that Lucky and Liz will always be the destiny couple, and Jason was so good with Robin back in the day. But I surely wouldn't want Scrubs OR Liason broken up for a reunion of the two.

I loved Jason and Robin, I wanted to climb into my screen and snatch Sarah Brown's Carly a knot for mucking them up by passing off her little mongrel on Jason, but Liason is IT for me now, they are not only one of my favorite GH couples, but one of my fave daytime couples ever!

Of Daisy my Sam hate is legendary! LOL I have toned it down for the site, but I absolutely loathe the character! Not the actress mind you, I think Kelly Monaco is strikingly beautiful and has a huge career ahead of her, but if I visited Port Charles the first place I would visit is the store where they sell the tar and feathers! Ha ha

I totally agree with you Jay!
Liason all the way. There are one of my fave couples, up there with Bope & Scrubs.
Keisha is still locked in a closet somewhere, and didn't even reappear for her brother's funeral. Besides, that was when he was Jason Q.
He loved Robin, but because she gave away the secret of Micheal's paternity, he couldn't be with her. Glad they are now friends. Both have moved on with their lives and I think Patrick is a better match for Robin as an adult.
I think that if Liz had not slept with Zander, then they would have still been together.
Liason totally accept each other for who they are and can be totally themselves with the other.
Liz brings out his tender side more so than anyone else has done.
Now, if JJ was still Lucky, I might have other thoughts.
Journey? Please...she was a plot device to pitt Jason against AJ and Jason against Sonny.
Jasam...never got that pairing either. Another of Sonny's leftovers. I like LuSam much better.
I think Liason could be the Bo & Hope of GH. They could actually stay together and survive other trials and tribulations in their lives and support each other.
GH has no romance and we could bring that in with Liason...God (oops, I mean Guza) willing.
And I think Steve & Becky are pretty committed to the show and are good friends in real life so we could have a couple that lasts instead of re-casts or a "death".

That Courtney stuff was the writers re-writing history.
After Jason was shot for the first time he says there are no words to say what he feels for Liz, that they are more than friends. Before he "left" all those years ago he told Liz "Don't you know what you are to me?" Jason fell in love with Liz in that studio 10 years ago. If not, then why does he remember their history by bringing her painting supplies, by saying he would want to remove every splinter, by bringing her the same meals she provided for him when he was hiding out in the studio?

Indeed Jason and Liz were more than friends, and I'm not surpised Jason remembered she liked painting (don't we all remember that?). But I don't think Jason loved Liz then. I think it was always pretty clear that Liz's feelings were much stronger for Jason than vice versa. Now that's not saying he doesn't love her now (that's debatable), but I included the Courtney clip just to point out that this wasn't really a couple that was "in the making" for 10 years.

I was a Robin/Jason fan but I'd rather her dead than get back together with him. I was never a JaSam fan perse but I think she was the true love of his life no matter how much he demolished that relationship with his lies all for the dullest of his relationships to date.

Well, Jason couldn't stop living his life and Liz was just a kid. If JJ was still Lucky, I might feel differently, but I am kinda liking LuSam.
PLUS, it was wonderful today to see Jason realize how he has been a bad son and wants the world to know that Jake is his in part to help Monica grieve.

Oh...I HAVE to say Liz! I LOVE Liason and they have become my joy in watching GH again! I love their chemistry, that they have true respect for one another and that their relationship is built on friendship. I have enjoyed their secret romance and touching scenes, although I am so ready for them to become a public power couple! I did like some of the Jason/Sam storyline in the beginning, but towards the end, I was over it....and I did like the Jason/Robin pairing but for me it is Liason ALL THE WAY!
Oh, but I do have to agree...if JJ was still Lucky...hmm, well I just don't know!!

Jason wasn't truthful with Courtney...here, back 2002, Jason starts to say "No, I lo...I like you." (at 5:49)to Elizabeth - Actually someone made a video of that conversation with Courtney, and added clips that completely contradicted everything he said to Courtney - which saddened me, but this shows how Jason held his feelings back to himself.

Sam was an obligation for Jason, a gruding duty he had to perform for Sonny, just like performing the occasional hit or sniffing coffee beans in order to help pick the perfect roast.
As time went on Jason felt sorry for her and there developed a very codependent, unhealthy, facsimile of "love".
Sam is one of the worst characters for a woman in daytime. She's uneducated, uncultured, uses sex as a means to act out (i.e. sleeping with her own mother's husband because her mother hurt her feelings) and she is capable of allowing harm to come to innocent children if it helps her to lick her psychic wounds. And she has an excuse for all of it. "My brother needed special schools, so I conned men out of their fortunes!" "I was put up for adoption, so I have a right to hate Alexis and sleep with my little sister's father!" "Jason dumped me so it's okie dokey that I hire thugs to terrorize a mother and her children!" The character is deplorable. I think Kelly the actress is wonderful, but Sam as a character sets women-make that human beings- back to pre-evolutionary times.

I'll keep this short, but I'll just say that I totally understand how people could hate her for sleeping w/ Ric/endangering kids, etc... But from a Sam fan perspective the worst of her deeds (sleeping w/ stepdad, endangering kids, even the creation of her marrying men for money, etc...) were done during the time period where TIIC thought KeMo was leaving and needed to put Liason together. Now, those are still things that Sam did, but most were completely out of character. Sorry, hate Sam all you want but there was nothing that we ever saw of her over her years on the show that would indicate she would endanger children. So forgive a Sam fan for not thinking she's hideous, when her most deplorable acts were part of a demonization process to facilitate KeMo leaving and prop up Liason (which, if they were that popular, didn't need propping.)
As far as being a bad female character for daytime, well, you being so knowledge in soaps should know that most female soap characters aren't great models of womanhood or personhood in general
Particularly when a soap is written by someone with misogynistic tendencies. Actually, it's not just women...most soap men do pretty despicable things. We live vicariously through these people, so most aren't exactly models of enlightened thinking 
As far as her being uneducated and uncultured, I don't have a problem with that...Not everyone on soaps or in real life is educated or cultured. It doesn't make them less worthy as a person or less interesting for that matter. I'll take a guess that a lot of your favorite characters over the years could be described as uneducated/uncultured.
As far as the way Jason and Sam got together...that's one of the things I liked. That they started off being stuck with each other, then a friendship developed, then love.
BTW, I hated that Sam turned into a revenge-seeking missile, but you know what would have made it more palpable for me - if they had indicated that it was some of her Cassadine-ness coming out...then I could have swallowed this turnabout a little better...
