One Life to Live: John McBain Pine Valley Cross Over?

Soap Opera Network is reporting that One Life to Live's Michael Easton may be doing a cross over to All My Chidlren's Pine Valley. Reportedly, his character John McBain will be visiting Pine Valley to investigate the "death" of All My Children's returning Jesse.
One thought: Last time I checked John McBain isn't a cop or an FBI agent. Why in the world would he be investigating the return of Jesee?

I have no idea. By my calculations John shouldn't be old enough to be an agent that was would have been charged with hiding Jesse. Wasn't Jesse "killed" approx 20 yrs ago? I would much rather see RJ cross over because Jesse is a long lost cousin that he needs something from.
